Gyro over Rice

This place is great! We were greeted as we entered. The gentleman behind the counter offered us a sample of falafel after we ordered. Delish. We ordered the warm dolmas and an entree for each of us. While we waited, we explored the attached market that was filled with authentic spices, ingredients, and homemade items. When our food arrived, the dolmas were perfect. Our entrees arrived shortly after. I got the gyro over rice. It came with a small salad and grilled/pickled veggies. We took a container of their homemade baklava to share with friends. We will absolutely be returning!

I grabbed lunch here last week and had the gyro over rice. Had a shwarma vibe to it, but it was all very good. Loved their baklava too! I'll definitely be back.

go here immediately. this place is phenomenal. the food is delicious- chicken is all white meat, slow cooked in the oven. veggies are pickled yet still crunchy and there is quite the assortment. the customer service was unmatched. it was our first time & then guy behind the counter was feeding us a bunch of things as samples, allowing us to figure out what we wanted to order. the grape leaves stuffed with rice and meat- wow. we ended up ordering the sampler platter. i am low carb and he ended up giving me less rice and more veggies and meat for the same price. 10/10 will always recommend.

This place is such a gem! We ordered a few things to try and K'naFa did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious! The waiter was very polite and courteous. The Arabian music playing in the background was a cherry on top.

Mixed Grill Kabob
Armand R.

While in Youngstown, I stopped by Knafa after seeing that it was a Middle Eastern Restaurant. I entered the restaurant and saw a couple of people who were eating at a table. I reviewed the menu and decided to get the mixed grilled kabob (Lamb, Kafka, Chicken) with pickled vegetables, corn, and rice. The meats were seasoned well and tender. The pickled vegetables were tangy and crunchy. The rice was not seasoned at all which threw me off and the corn seemed unnecessary for the dish.

Lamb in meat department! Great prices!

Quick review. Got a wrap. Great. Will be back many times. Got beef and lamb kufta wrap. And man! Order it here, cuz they got all kinds of middle eastern condiments to put on it!!! VERY friendly folks.

Awesome Mediterranean food!! My favorite place to shop for…read moreArabic food away from home.. authentic like back in Syria. Many food options and now a new restaurant! Just had the beef Shawrma! Yum!

I usually do few reviews, and only do reviews on a first visit if a.) someplace was really, really…read morebad. Or b.) if someplace was extraordinarily good. I'm glad to report that Jerusalem Food Imports (JFI) falls in the latter category. Hungry for Mediterranean food and having tried all the other local destinations, I gave JFI a try. Boy, am I glad I did. JFI is a specialty market with a kitchen on the left side with a full takeout menu. No space for seating, but I'm working from home, so I was just doing a buy and fly anyway. I was in a chicken shwarma mood, so I ordered one. If you can't tell by the picture, it is monstrous. It looked like they used about a pound of chicken when preparing it. Add in a side of fries (which I didn't know came with it and really didn't want) for $5.99, and you have enough for two meals unless you're extremely hungry. Ate half and saving the other for dinner. It's much tastier than comparable sandwiches (specifically Ghossain's), with the requisite picked veggies and tahini sauce. They also had a complete selection of meat pies, chicken pies and spinach pies. I picked up a spinach pie for $1.99 for later. I also picked up a pint sized tabbouleh for $5.99, where competitors charge $4.99 for 8 ounces. I did try some of it and it's very tasty and fresh. I look forward to trying some kibbeh and hummus next time. K'nafa practically next door is good too. But if you're looking for a lot of food at a tremendous value, give JFI a try. The gentlemen working there couldn't have been nicer, and even offered to include some water without asking. I hope to get the word out on this hidden gem. Give them a try if you like Mediterranean food.

We've ordered takeout from this little Syrian spot in Niles at least ten times now. And I don't say…read morethis lightly...there has never been an off day. Not once. The consistency alone is enough to keep us coming back, but the food itself? It's something special. Let me start with the hummus. I don't even know how to say this without sounding dramatic, but it's hands down the best hummus we've ever had. It's unbelievably smooth, rich, and somehow manages to go with everything. And yes...I'm going to say it...dip your fries in it. Trust me on that one. And order the large size hummus to take home with you. The rice deserves its own moment too. Perfectly cooked, just the right amount of richness. I'm not sure if it's butter or oil or some magic in between, but whatever they're doing, it works. It's the kind of rice you keep eating even when you're full. We usually go for the chicken over rice, which comes with peppers and onions, and it's always flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. This is not bland food. Everything has depth. We've also had the three-meat combo (lamb, chicken, and beef), and every single piece is tender and cooked just right. It all comes together with that incredible red sauce and the garlic sauce...which I always order extra because I refuse to run out halfway through the meal. Add in the pita for the hummus, and it's just one of those meals you look forward to the entire drive home. And speaking of the drive...we will happily go 35-40 minutes out of our way just to pick this up. That should tell you everything. On top of all that, it's a family-owned place, and you can feel it. Customer service is warm and thoughtful. You'll often see the husband and wife there, sometimes their kids, and I believe his mother is in the kitchen and honestly, it shows. There's something about the food that feels cared for, not just made. We've tried a few different things on the menu and everything has been great, but the dishes I mentioned are what keep calling us back. Highly, highly recommend!!

Food was avg not fantastic and definitely not enough to bring me back for more, especially with the store conditions and some kids playing on the food counter. I just didn't get a good feeling.
