Amazing! I have found a place where I trust they will take care of my car needs. I'm very cautious about my car and make sure everything is good so I don't get stranded one day. I asked them to change my brakes just to be safe and Raz's dad said they are fine, they don't need to be replaced. He even said that if I go to another repair shop (not like I would), don't tell them to change my brakes because they will do it without telling me they're good. They are truly amazing! read more

It is very rare to find a mechanic you trust. I have purchased a mini in March. When the car started having lights flash I called Raz at Elf Motors. I should have taken my car to him asap, but I did not and took it somewhere else, only to have that mechanic fix the wrong things and have no idea how to work on a Mini Cooper S. I did finally take my car to Raz who was more than kind and helpful. The first day I spent a few hours with him, comfortably sitting and watching Netflix, while I waited. He stopped everything he was doing and worked on it right there. He put in new valve cover and plugs and such in 2 hours. For me, the best part was being able to text him for days and get response immediately. I felt like he was family. I feel like he will be a part of my life and I will do anything for him and his kids that I can from this day forward. I am incredibly impressed with his bedside manner. He is smart, kind, generous and really makes you feel like you are in the right hands and he is more concerned with his business and reputation than he is the bottom dollar. He is honest and just happens to be good looking too! I don't know if you have ever watched The Secret. But if you have, this is the mentally of this business. They are in business to help people and make long term customers. I will take my car to him for the rest of my life, Mini Cooper or otherwise. Raz is friendly and conversational on top of being a great mechanic, and their waiting room even has free wi-fi! They always try to get the least expensive parts, and they don't jab you for labor or try to upsell you on services/repairs you don't need. This is a family shop and a lot of love and loyalty have clearly made it what it is today... which is a really pleasant environment to visit! The shop is immaculate, incredibly organized and clean. It is obvious that the work here is done with integrity, respect and love. Whenever I get work done, Raz or Raffi always make a point to show me what they have done. In a nutshell: this is the best service I've ever had at an auto shop, and I've been a car owner in LA for 17 years. The long version of the story: Last Saturday morning I was driving my 2005 VW Passat station wagon on the 134 Freeway towards Burbank when a terrifying squealing alarm started going off, with big flashing red letters saying STOP! on the dashboard, because something was wrong with the coolant system and my car engine was in the process of overheating. Steam was coming out from under the hood, people were honking at me on the freeway, and other drivers were pointing at me through their windows and mouthing things like "Your car is about to catch on fire!" Which is apparently the risk you run when your coolant hose breaks, which I discovered to be the case after I managed the nerve-wracking, alarm-squealing, eight-minute drive from the Pass Ave. exit to Elf Motors. The reason I went to Elf Motors instead of the nearest gas station was because I knew the auto shop was located across the street from my five year old son's fencing studio (my son was in the backseat the whole time, asking, "Mommy, when is the car going to catch on fire?") and that I could drop my son off at the fencing studio while the car was looked at. Also, I didn't want him to be late for his class. The point is, I couldn't have ended up at a better place than Elf Motors. I pulled into their parking area with steam pouring out from under the hood, just like you see in the movies, and I was incredibly frazzled as I got my excited son out of the car and handed the keys to Raz the mechanic with a completely girly plea for help. Raz proved to be extraordinarily trustworthy, mellow, calm, pleasant, courteous, specific and effective in how he dealt with my car, and me, and my son, who did go to his class, and then came back and hung out at and around the auto shop for the rest of the morning while the coolant hose and tank were replaced, more coolant was added, oil was added, and a new tire was put on (because Raz had noticed that one of my tires was cracked all the way around; and not only did he replace the tire with a quality-but-inexpensive used one, but he rotated all the other tires for safety and cosmetic appearance). Raz didn't try to upsell me on anything, and never made me feel like I was a clueless driver, though quite honestly I am -- Raz simply pointed out what had gone wrong and what was needed to make the car safe. He achieved that result with a minimum of fuss, at an extremely reasonable price, in a satisfyingly prompt and respectfully attentive manner, and by 12:20 pm I was on my way with a beautifully running car. The only reason it took a few hours is because he had to wait for a certain warehouse to open so that he could get the replacement hose. He even tried to fix my old hose so that I wouldn't be charged for a new one, but the old one turned out to be unsalvageable. In summary, I think everyone should take their car to Elf Motors. I truly did not know that an auto shop could be such a model of efficiency, pleasantness (more than pleasant, Raz and his father were quite warm and friendly; aside from the fact that my car had its hood open, I felt like I had come to someone's home for a social visit) and excellent, reasonably priced service. I hope they stay open forever, because they're my new go-to mechanics. read more

as a single female who doesn't know jack about cars, i've always been extremely skeptical about taking my car in to get it worked on and 9 times out of 10 make the hour trip to see my dad for him to do what he can. however, a guy friend at work told me to try elf motors and it was one of the best things i ever did. raz will not only get the best rate he can find but will you give the best service in a timely manner. he's honest, hard working and a true gentleman and i'm very thankful i have someone i can trust to take my car too!! read more

These guys saved my car and for $900 less than an estimate I got at another shop! I recommend this to everyone who has any sort of car trouble. Honest, friendly, knowledgeable. He didn't go for the most expensive fix, he took the time to actually diagnose the problem and fix it for the least amount possible. He even had a rental company cut me a deal for a car because Avis wouldn't let me rent without a credit card. He promptly had to cancel that rental because he was able to fix it in under an hour.
