The service seems to get worse every time I eat here. Server disappears repeatedly. The food tasted good, that is the one star. I ordered a cappuccino and got a latte. I can recommend so many amazing things from here. I've been many times and have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences with friends, dates and my sons. We have loved their salads, scallops entrees and their Mahi dinners. I highly recommend the Crab cakes (we've gotten them every time!), and truly also loved the curry flavored calamari special. The chocolate mouse dessert/cake is out of this world! The ambience is lovely here, too. Love the lighting and Art so much! read more

Came here on a Saturday night, wasn't busy at all. Ambiance was great, nice fire place. First noticed how dirty the silverware looked, but the waitress was happy to provide a clean set. We ordered the four course dinner for 2. Quality and quantity of food was great for the price ($50). Server, Kali was very friendly and attentive. The food is average to pretty good. What really kicks elements up a notch for me is the value. You can get a really nice meal and nice atmosphere for a very reasonable price. The best option for a business meal in Logan. It would be nice to see more vegetarian options that aren't the standard salad, pasta, veggie pizza that vegetarians contend with almost every place they go. read more

Everything we had was really good, and the 4 course meal for 2 people is a really good deal. I usually leave expensive restaurants hungry, but I was definitely full upon leaving this place. Spending an hour out on the porch is probably the best location for any nice day in Logan. From the deck, the Logan River is a few feet away, and there is probably $1million worth of landscape architecture and design among the human-made waterfalls and stones. The ducks can be very bold and aggressive. One sat about a foot from my foot and waited for me to drop a snack the entire time I ate. They also have excellent personal pizzas and draft beer deals during certain days. (Thursday?) I highly recommend brunch and dinner, lunch was OK. read more

We ate there again last night and were very pleased. The waiter tried hard to please, the $10 pizza deal is great - comes with a large salad, bread and a drink. And is all you can eat, though we could only handle one each. I tried to be a pig and thought about another, but failed to gorge myself. The pizzas were good and the mac and cheese we got for the 3 year old was made with real cheese, not powdered mix (sometimes restaurants cheat with kiddie meals). One problem with restaurants is that the wait staff tends to be young and lack the experience of eating out much. I'd be a great waiter! I actually served a little in my youth and now I'd be wonderful. Thank God I don't need the job! This place would get a five star if only the waiter, who did try hard and did get a 20% tip, knew to be the most attentive at the end of the meal. We have a three year old and we want the desert and check pronto. That said, we will be back, it's a nice place with attentive staff and good food. read more

I just finished a delightful breakfast of Elements Benedict with mushrooms and spinach added. I don't remember when I've had a better breakfast in a Logan restaurant. The atmosphere was fantastic, the restaurant was extremely clean and our server Phil was exceptional. I truly thought I'd just found a gem in the rough of Logan's selection of otherwise okay restaurants. Then I read the sign at the entrance to the restaurant: Saturday July 22 will be the last day Elements will be serving breakfast. Breakfast is not only the most important meal of the day, it's by far my favorite. I can't give a restaurant anything higher than a one-star rating that doesn't at least offer an Egg McMuffin. Please change your mind on this poor decision you are making and I will come back and change my rating. As it is, I just had my last meal at Elements and will not be recommending you to any of my friends. UPDATE: I was encouraged to write this review by someone named Rachel who was working at this restaurant. So at the request of someone named Rachel, I've deleted the paragraph pertaining to hearsay regarding problems with the management. We have brought a lot of business to Element's over the years. There have been many changes in oversight, menu, etc. They recently changed the menu again and it continues to be more bar/pub food rather than fine dining. Additionally, the front of the house staff are not very accommodating and it takes a long time to be seated at times, even when the restaurant is less than 50% full. We were there twice this week in hosting out of town professional guests. On Thursday night they were out of prime rib by 6:15pm. Unfortunately, we will be taking our business elsewhere. I will highly recommend anyone who orders their steak salad or the fire-grilled Asian chicken to ask in advance: please don't over-cook the meat. For both times that I've been there, the steak/chicken were really dry, and tasted like cardboards. Usually the food is good here and the service par excellence. But this time we had a new and not so clever waitress. She told us before she didn't know what flavors were available for the sorbet, and when she came back, she said said 'it was mango and something else'. Really????? Wow!! New chef in town! We had an amazing meal from start to finish. The quality of the food and ingredients was incredible, everything we ordered tasted amazing. Fried pickles and tomato bruschetta for starters are must haves. The mushroom bisque IS LIFE. The clam chowder is the best I've ever had. The Salmon BLAT (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato) was the tastiest sandwich. The salmon was cooked to perfection with so much flavor. Gnocchi was to die for. I can't wait to try EVERYTHING on the menu. If Elements can get their service staff up to par with the new menu, then I'll definitely be coming regularly. read more

New chef: incredible food! Finally cache valley has a place to go for scratch, quality food!

Until recently, I would say Elements was the nicest restaurant in the valley. Unfortunately, however, my opinion has changed since we had my sons wedding luncheon there. Based on my prior experience, I was expecting a professional atmosphere, timely service and delicious food. We arrived on time, but had to wait over 30 minutes for the private room to be ready (which threw our wedding day schedule off). Considering our reservation of the private room was made several weeks in advance, I'm not sure staffing issues could be blamed. Next, I had previously arranged for a limited menu for the party and asked that a limited menu be placed at each chair, but that had not been done. When I asked about it, the manager basically photocopied something off the website and placed it at each chair. It was very unprofessional looking. Next, the food took forever to come out - and we had to leave before dessert could be served (and dessert was included in the price of the dinner package). All in all - it was a very disappointing experience on a very important day. It just seemed like they had zero experience hosting wedding luncheons - which was very surprising to me, considering they have been pretty widely considered the nicest restaurant in Logan. The month before, we had Beehive Grill host my other sons wedding and they did a fabulous job. read more

Elements is a favorite place for lunch and today was especially good! Our server, Amanda, was a doll and very helpful. We ordered the salmon penne pasta, the special - and it was especially delicious. The chopped salad was terrific and my husband thought the potato soup was the best he's had. Friendly staff great food and wine that doesn't insult you like other wine serving restaurants in Logan. Their menu is most likely the most modern menu in Logan which as a whole seems to be about 20 years behind with its unimaginative other culinary establishments, which is puzzling for a college town. read more

Logan doesn't really have any fancy restaurants. My fiancé and I use Elements as our fancy date night. They have awesome (alcoholic) drinks and food. Their menu is everything from sandwiches to classy entrees. If it's nice enough sit outside next to the Logan river. Beware of the hungry ducks! read more

This place used to be outstanding. But then they changed their menu and it is really...meh. Plus, they don't have a wide array of desserts. My wife and I cannot eat dairy and most of their dessert items have ice cream as an integral part of the recipe. This is a beautiful restaurant, unfortunately it has been horribly maintained - there's an obvious lack of care for the property . It's clear at some point it was a great restaurant. We walked in the door on a weekend - the restaurant was empty (should have taken that as a sign) and stood in front of the hostess and were not greeted, she didn't say hello or welcome us - finally after 5 minutes she looked up from the phone and I just told us to sit - took a few room service phone calls and then finally welcomed us - then told us it would be 10-15 minutes before we would be seated. We were finally seated and introduced to our server, I believe his name was Brian, he was charming, young, and eager. We placed our drink orders and asked what he recommended for an appetizer - he suggested the calamari - I asked if he was sure, because calamari has to be perfect ... he assured us it was fantastic. The calamari came out and he apologized saying he didn't know what happened, and still placed the platter on our table - with fear in our hearts we tried what had to have been a 9-12 month old product that was scraped off the bottom of the freezer. The breading was separated from calamari and whatever combination of sauces the chef added were an absolute nightmare. My partner and I decided that there was no way the rest of our dinner was going to be a success - so he set off to find the server to let him know we were going to cancel the rest of our order - we explained to him our feelings, he apologized and went to go find the manager - he returned and said the manager assured us that our dinner would be great (the manager never came to our table), and that we should stay - we insisted that this was not going to end well and we insisted that we receive our check and proceeded to pay. We explained to the young man how absolutely disgusting it is that he should have to apologize for what the kitchen sent out and that the fact that his manager didn't have the nerve to even come to apologize or offer any concessions says a lot about how this restaurant is operated. He explained to us as we were leaving that the owners just purchased a new restaurant and that a lot of the great employees left and moved to the new restaurant. Wake up! Owners and managers - its time for a change. Such a disappointment. read more

Super disappointed by the food here. The roasted chicken fettuccini tasted like someone had poured vinegar all over and the noodles were thick and hard to chew. My mom got a turkey burger and it was dry and burnt on the bottom. Very sad because it is such a beautiful restaurant! The atmosphere was good--my sister and I enjoyed sitting out by the creek. Our server was friendly and gave us some good recommendations. The menu selection was varied and prices were in line with our choices. Small things keep me from giving a better review: Offer a wine list (yes, I know we are in Utah but this is what nice restaurants do automatically); ask if I want fresh ground pepper on my salad; a nice touch also would be to not serve cold butter with the bread basket and maybe warm the bread...like I say, small things, but they make a big difference in a diner's perception. read more

Big fan. While most reviews of the service are accurate-can be slow in arriving to table, not well versed in the food, amateur and worse, forgetful...there's a general feeling of "faking it" and undertraining when it comes to service- that's not enough to keep us away as most times the service gets the job done. That said, as a server for close to a decade, I may be a little picky as well... It's not to say we haven't had good service, but exceptional isn't the norm. The patio environment, however, is second to none next to the Logan River and surrounded by fantastic landscaping. Unbeatable on a warm summer evening or even early fall when the patio heaters are kicked on. Add the charm of light bulb strands when the sun sets and patio is first choice every time we go. But enough about that noise... It's the food that matters, amiright? To be honest, I go to Elements for comfort food served up with some gourmet flair... I seldom stray from the Mac and cheese, Killer Burger or a pizza. The Killer Burger is truly one of the better burgers I've had, loaded with competing favors of sweet, tangy, creamy and savory. The bun caps it all off. The killer burger is a gooey, dripping mess... and fantastic. The Mac and cheese is the real deal. Real cheese, thick and creamy baked into these tight curly noodles. Fantastic. The pizza is great as well and comes in lots of gourmet variety. Apps of note are the crab cakes and chicken lettuce wraps. The lettuce wraps are a bit greasy but still good stuff if you do some draining or dabbing. We've sampled other apps like the humus and bruschetta but keep returning to the crab and wraps. The bread served is delicious... Especially the onion topped stuff. The sour dough and French are pretty standard. The squares of soft onion bread are always the first to go. The baby spinach salad is awesome, though I do recommend a request of light dressing as it usually comes back douched with the stuff. Still, the granny smith, blue cheese, red onion, pecans and golden raisin combo is inspired. The house salad is pretty standard as far as house salads go but it is seasoned, which kicks the taste and presentation up a notch. All said, I'm a big fan of Elements in the foods I return for again and again. Presentation and preparation is always good and service could use some work and refinement but honestly, it's not much of a step down from anywhere else. I just really dig that burger. read more

I've never managed a restaurant but have managed businesses for years. Something doesn't seem right. I'll let you know how it turns out. This may be premature but I need to do something while I wait! -------------------------------- So, only 10 minute wait, delicious food reasonably priced and awesome waitress. The food was excellent. Butternut ravioli was very good but overpriced for the quantity. Gorgonzola steak pasta is very rich and flavorful. I am surprised at what I'm going to write because we've been to Elements before and had really great experiences. However, this instance the service was awful. After being seated we waited 15 minutes for our waiter to show and get drinks ordered. We ordered an appetizer that we never got. The table was sticky. When getting drink refills the waiter would walk by saying he was checking on the refill but never actually produced one. Then when we were done and wanted to pay, he walked by our payment (a card) several times. After about 15 more minutes of waiting and asking, we paid cash and left. Went here last month and had a miserable meal. We went in on a Friday night an hour before closing and the restaurant was empty. We figured the service would be rather fast because of these. We ordered two beers and an appetizer which came out quick enough. Our waiter knew nothing about the drink menu and read us off a list of beer names (i.e. cut throat) without additional information about it being a pale ale or the like. The first dinner item I ordered was out of stock and I choose the butternut ravioli instead. The kitchen was slow, our waiter told us the chef cut himself during the appetizer prep. When it finally came out my expectation for fresh, stuffed raviolis and was sadly mistaken. Instead I was served under cooked raviolis with two having broken and emptied during the cooking process AND they were barely warm. I cut open three to be sure they were all under cooked and sent them back expecting a new plate. They sent back the same plate after only putting it under the broiler...they didnt even represent the plate! broiling under cooked pasta doesnt cook anything and when I returned it again their manager said they could give me a 40% discount on the under cooked plate I sent back twice and didnt eat. The other three people in my party had similar experiences with their plates. Terrible service, poor food, horrible customer service. Would not recommend! read more
