Pancakes / breakfast
Caren G.

Really good local cafe, check it out if you love old school cafes! Since 1959. Good service, good food. Pancakes excellent. We judge breakfast by the quality of the pancakes, these are excellent.

Rather than calling it LD's Cafe & Video, perhaps it should be called LD's Cafe & Billiards, since this once was a pool hall (and still has a dedicated room to pool tables). When I visited this week, I didn't see a video anywhere. What I did see, however, was a snapshot back in time to a decade where things were slower, simpler and kind of quaint. There's a U-shaped bar that surrounds the cook who prepares the food for the patrons sitting around it. There are also some booths that outline the room for folks who don't want to belly up to the counter. The menu consists of the things you'd expect: hamburgers, fried fish, sandwiches and breakfast items. I enjoyed a hamburger and tots-it was delicious! Service was attentive and we felt like we'd been transported, even just for an hour-back to another time.

Still my favorite hamburger place in all Utah! I'm kind of in love with this place. I love the old/rustic bar feeling, the amazing food, and the nicest waitress. Also, it brings back so many good memories of family, friends that ate with me here while I was living in Cache Valley a few years ago. My food was perfect as always. I ordered the pastrami burger with waffles fries and my husband ordered the Malibu sandwich with waffles fries. So yummy! *I attached a picture from the menu. The hamburger are around $10 with fries, which is cheap cause the burgers are big.

A large and delicious Bacon Double Cheese Burger!

Can you say two fisted delicious?! Wow, I think this is one of the best burgers I have ever had, possibly ever, and that IS NOT a hyperbole! We were were visiting the area to see some friends and as we were leaving we thought we might just stop in Logan for some grub. Well, my friend just looked at me and smiled with this twinkle in his eye that foodies share when there is EXCEPTIONAL FOOD TO BE HAD. If you are a foodie you know the look. He said two words...LD's Cafe.... Im thinking what? In this tiny little town? On a Friday night? But THE LOOK... I know THE LOOK...so I reply, any recommendations? Again comes the reply in a three words..."Bacon Double Cheeseburger" So, now to the actual food. First, The fountain coke was tuned perfectly and I am a total Coke a Cola fanatic. What would you expect from a small home town establishment that looked like it was right out of the 40's if it is a day old. The place just oozes small town charm from the moment you walk in and seat yourself. They have been serving fountain coke at a full counter and a dozen booths with a pool table for longer than I have been around and I'm no spring chicken. I order the bacon double cheese burger and this thing is a monster. The hand formed patties were not small, the bacon was fresh cooked and I cut it in half to share because of its size. The fries were crispy and fresh and the pickles were on the side which was good, I don't like pickles on my burger. And to top it off, there were freshly grilled onions on top that were the cherry on the cake! BAM! Two fisted delicious top to bottom! I live a 100 miles from this place and I can assure you that I will be back to this place to try the blue cheese bacon burger and a host of their other home cooked feel good dishes in the next few months. When I do, I'll update my review. A solid 5 stars and everyone else agrees. Worth the drive if you are within a 100 miles!

It's hard to capture dust and dinginess caked on the walls. The rest of the place was also in a general state of disrepair.

This was a memorable experience, and not in a good way. DON'T EAT HERE. BEING HUNGRY IS MORE SATISFYING! Have you ever waited 45+ minutes for freezer corn dogs and a plain burger with out-of-the-plastic American cheese? You can do that here. You can also enjoy a salad literally swimming in watered down ranch and with a hair in it. I only ate a couple bites and stopped after the hair... You can also delight in an over-priced ($25) steak and shrimp special that couldn't hold a candle to the impeccably high standard of Sizzler's. Oh, and you might want to wear a mask, not because it's COVID, but because the place is plastered in dinginess and who knows what else. Even the front door has a black half moon of coated filth around the sticky door knob that is iconically synonymous with hoarder homes. The bathroom was gross with the sink being detached from the wall. The ceiling was sagging in places. Honestly, I don't know how this place isn't condemned. It was so expensive and disgusting. Our bill was $55 for the following: - X2 kids corn dog and fries ($6.79 each) - X1 bacon burger and fries ($12) - X1 steak and shrimp special ($25) - X1 side Mac and cheese ($3.50) WHY 2 STARS INSTEAD OF 1? The server was very polite and kind. She brought the kids chips when they were getting restless waiting for dinner. I had to give her a bigger tip, not because the experience was good, but because she was nice and I felt bad she had to work inside that environment.

Ham and Cheese salad...they have awesome ranch!
La V.

We loved LD's...however...we did feel they were very overpriced for such a small town. My husband was freaking out a bit and didn't want order anything when he saw the prices. However, we enjoyed our experience. We liked the old building and old diner feeling. The service was great. They have awesome ranch dressing...that is important! I enjoyed the Malibu Chicken Dinner. We got tots and fries and they were not all that great...they both tasted the same...like oil. My husband loved his ham and cheese salad. My son liked the turkey club. And my 3 year old ordered the cheesburger...too expensive at $6.00 for a run of the mill burger. The club was overpriced too for what you get. Over all though...I would say give LD'S a shot.. We drove in from Logan at a friend's suggestion and while we enjoyed it we won't be able to come back too often with their high prices...but their food was yummy!

Russell burger with an added egg cooked over easy on top.
Leah L.

Small place but big food. I had the Russell burger, which has grilled ham but I also added an over easy egg on top. It was delish. I really liked the grilled onions that come on every burger. The fries were cooked perfectly and service was excellent. It's just one cook running this place (likely the owner?) and I love that family run atmosphere. It's important to support true local diners, especially when they feed you well every time. Will definitely be back. The pool tables in the back look like fun and are definitely a hot spot for locals in town.

I go here often. Great bacon cheeseburger and the fries are some of the best in the valley.

Best way to spend an evening in Richmond. Back room to play pool and watch a game is great.

About half the tables were full. The cashier greeted us cheerfully and offered help from the menu. From start to finish, he has friendly and attentive. The menu is large, and includes everything from reasonably priced (sub $10) sandwiches and wraps, to salads, burgers, fried sides, desserts, and even keto offerings! We ordered a Cobb salad and a Patty Melt and pickle fries. The pickle fries were the most lackluster. Nothing obviously bad that I can point out, they just weren't very good. My salad was very standard. Again, nothing wrong, just nothing I couldn't make at home out of a bag. My friend did really enjoy her patty melt and curly fries. Also, points for having both Pepsi and Coke options in the fountain! Another note, you won't buss your own table. Leave your food there.

They don't take reservations but I called ahead as the staff suggested to get a sense of the expected wait time. I called again to say we were on our way and When we arrived the hostess was more interested in answering the phone than helping to seat us. Over and over again she ignored us and kept us standing with all the other hopeful patrons in the tiny waiting area. With several open tables. Wtf? Finally she came to the conclusion she could seat us. Get a plan. The wine list is decent but unless you can educate your staff as to what's on offer and how to help your guests, why have it? This is typical of utah eateries. I get it. You're hamstrung by the alcohol laws to some extent but if you're going to offer wine, make the effort to educate your staff if your patrons have questions. Once ordered, our entrees came out so fast as so suggest they'd been prepared and sitting under a heat lamp. The glossy thick and cloying sweet gravy of the sauerbraten would assume nothing less. This place has promise but it's small and noisy. It was packed by 6 pm on a Friday with large parties of families toting kids in strollers. If you're looking for something quiet and intimate, you might find it on another nightie somewhere else.
