I really had a great massage here! I only went here once over this past weekend and I literally walked out of there feeling like a noodle. LOL! My massage therapist was Sheila - I think she may have been new. I had a 90-minute massage and enjoyed every minute of it. I really didn't have anything specific that I wanted her to work on so she massaged me from neck to feet. She did detect that I had more tension on my right shoulder and she gave that area a lot of attention. Some spots she applied firm pressure, but was very accommodating and made sure that I wasn't uncomfortable. The bed warmers are a bonus too! I specified that she not work on glutes or pecs but I still had a very good full body massage. I think next time I will get a 60-minute massage because the 90-minute will make you not want to leave and become so relaxed that you will struggle to drive home :-( The front desk receptionist Evelyn was super friendly and made it not feel like an uppity spa. She's also a massage therapist and she and Sheila gave me great tips and ideas about working out my muscles and eating much healthier. The problem here is the way Elements advertises. These are not one hour massages. I had four massages here over the course of three months. They ranged from 41-46 minutes each. One evening I was taken back 4 minutes late, and was actually home on my couch before the hour was up. read more

i've been a regular customer at Elements South Loop for the past year. I go every month, sometimes twice in a month, usually for 60 minutes, a couple times 90. Skilled massage therapists, friendly reception, scheduling. The therapists are concerned about you as an individual, what you want and need. I've never been disappointed here.As an older person, i appreciate the care for my concerns. And, as a member, I appreciate the perks for that, occasional discounts from the already- reasonable rates. i've received great massages from Tashata, Deirdre, and Tracy and, I'm pretty sure the others hold to a high standard of care. I had a massage after extended travel, and I think the massage I had here was probably the best experience of any I have ever had. I have had massage at high end spas, the average small shop, and even drop in massage at airports etc. But my experience at Elements was wonderful. From the time I went in, the assistant at the desk, Niko was helpful and asked if there was anything I needed after I filled out the paperwork. My therapist was Evie, She completely focused on my massage while working on me, and asked me what pressure works for me, and said just to say lighter or harder if the pressure wasn't right. Although that happened once, she immediately adapted her touch to my request. She stated before the massage she does not talk during the massage, and she did not. As a result, because the room and bed were the correct temperature and lighting, I found myself drifting off to sleep several times, my body completely relaxed, which is rare for me, and my sinuses, which were stuffed up from a flight and change in climate the day before began to clear and drain, which indicates that the massage has been effective in releasing tension in the body and adjust fluids and increased circulation in the body. I have to say the massage was well worth the time, and the price spot on for a reasonable rate for the market even as a non-member, and if I ever live in the Chicago area I will get a membership. If I could give this studio a 10 out of 5 I would. The staff is friendly, unobtrusive and professional. read more

Hands down best ever massage that I have received. I am a huge fan of deep tissue massages, I don't mind deep pressure, as I work out a lot and also have a desk job, so I have quite a few trigger points that build up and cause pain I had Evie today as my masseuse and holy moly...she was amazing! She listened to me before we started when I told her I like deep pressure and do get tension headaches. Within minutes of starting the massage, she located my trigger points and areas of concern and worked them out so well. I feel like my shoulders have dropped inches from my ears. It was the most satisfying feeling when I could feel her working out my trigger points and knots. Evie was by far the best and most skilled masseuse I've ever had. She stretched and worked out my muscles perfectly. I can't wait to book my next appointment. The owner of this location and the front desk staff are equally as amazing. I purchased a Groupon for a 3 massage package. This place is on the corner of Michigan and Roosevelt pretty easy to get to on CTA. It's just the typical no frills massage place. The staff is friendly and helpful they have tea and water at the front. Scheduling is pretty easy you can also do it online and choose therapist. First I had an hr massage (I forgot the therapists name). Didn't feel like I got a full hour as he was later and felt like he ended it early. But it was a decent massage. The second time I had a session with J.R. He did some serious therapeutic work on me and tortured my poor shoulders and back. I was in pain but it felt so much better the next day and my tight shoulders felt much more lose and relaxed. So I booked another session with him in about 3 weeks and he laughed that I came back to be tortured by him. This time it was less painful as he had loosened up my shoulders pretty well in that earlier session and he again did some serious therapeutic work on my neck and shoulders and back. As part of my attempt to love myself more, I booked an evening massage appointment online, and took myself downtown for the day. This salon is tucked away on the corner of busy Roosevelt and Michigan Avenue, so you may want to take their advice and go for the valet parking nearby for $8; otherwise you will hurt your neck circling the block for parking. My massage was with Jennifer, whom immediately I felt comfortable with. She started with areas of my back and shoulder that had been hurting me, using a firm but steady technique, and checking with me to make sure I was comfortable with the pressure. I had a deep tissue massage, and my skin felt so soft and amazing afterwards, that night, and the rest of the week. Jennifer is one of the best masseuses in the city. However, Elements marketing campaign (endless barrage of emails) is a bit annoying, I was waiting for a sales pitch at the cash register, but there was no catch, and now I want those annoying emails so that I can go back and take advantage of the deals they offer. read more

I was skeptical of these chain massage places but needed one before my marathon. It was close to home and had an opening at the right time (they seem to have long hours so easy to catch one). I was pleasantly surprised! The massage therapist did a good job, was nice; the place was clean and workers were friendly; prices were reasonable. What I had hoped to be a relaxing massage turned into a traumatic nightmare. This week, I had a miscarriage. During our time of grief and stress, I wanted to get a massage to relax. I called previously and was pleased to get an appointment on July 6th. I arrived for my 2:45PM appointment and informed the woman that I had a miscarriage the day before. She said oh, well I will only be able to massage your back because I don't want to cause any complications. I said you can't massage my legs? She said well, I guess maybe but it would be more like a Swedish massage. I said, a Swedish massage is my preference (as noted on the form I filled out). She said for me to get undressed and to get on the table and she would be back in a few minutes. When she came back in, as I laid there naked, she said she did some more research and would be unable to do the massage. I said, help me understand because physically there is nothing wrong with me. She said due to the miscarriage and me trying to get pregnant again in the future, she will not. I asked her to please leave so I could get dressed. She did not leave. She said I could bring in a doctor's note indicating I could get a massage and that she was available later in the day. I said absolutely not and please leave. She finally left. The first time I asked her to leave, she should have left. This experience was re-traumatizing after the miscarriage of our baby. Nowhere on the website does it say that if you had a miscarriage, you could not get a massage. I did not need additional stress, but that is exactly what I received. If there is an official policy, it needs to be clearly communicated on the website. I would not have made an appointment. I could have avoided this negative, further heart-wrenching experience. "One of the owners" just called to offer an "upgrade" for the "inconvenience". I handed the phone to my husband because of the trauma attached with Elements. He expressed to you all that I would not be back in after the negative experience. He also expressed there needs to be something on the website to communicate the policy to not give massages to women who had miscarriages and plan to get pregnant in the future. Elements said "we do not want to advertise something like that on the website". Why not? This whole horrible experience could have been avoided. Elements said it for my "safety". My husband expressed that at the very least, you need to tell someone BEFORE they are naked and on the table. Elements said "we do apologize, I was not aware she was already on the table". You did not even have your facts straight. This is completely unacceptable and we truly hope you all get your act together before you put another person through what I experienced. read more

I booked my appointment sometime in March or April of 2016 on their website and chose Eric as my therapist for that day because he specializes in sports and deep tissue. First impression of the clinic was clean and minimalistic BUT beautiful. Eric greeted me warmly and shook my hand when it was my time. He led me to his designated room. Intake was abrupt but thorough just the way I like it. However, his attitude and energy completely changed throughout the session. I don't know if I had said something initially that made him change his attitude towards me so I just sucked it up. The session was too fast. No communication if pressure was okay. In that 50 minutes, I felt like he just rushed through it with no consideration. I became so annoyed and almost said to him, "This 50 minutes isn't about you. Whatever issue you're going through, deal with it afterwards." He could sense my annoyance energetically so he finished it to the "best" of his ability. THE WORSE thing was, he had the nerve to invite me to his yoga studio at Pilsen and become a member when he barely did a mediocre of a job. At that moment, I knew it was all about him. Cold and condescending. I came back a few months later. I prayed to God I wouldn't get him again. THE ONLY reason why I came back was because it's so convenient for me location wise. I decided to give Elements another chance because I'm a firm believer that sometimes, first impression isn't lastly. My therapist was Victoria. A complete turnaround from Eric. From beginning to end, she was consistent with her customer service and professionalism. As a therapist, she was mindful of my targeted areas and communicated with me throughout. She explained to me about membership and never forced me into becoming a member. At that point, I found my therapist. I was sold and became a member. My third session was with Tashata. Another wonderful, genuine therapist. Techniques and clientele focus are beyond superb. The receptionists are very welcoming, warm, and greet you as if they had known you even if you're new (thank you especially to Niko and Rhianna for your pleasantries). I have nothing against Elements. But sometimes, it takes one person to ruin it for everyone, ruin a business's credential, and lose potential clients. read more

I used to visit the Elements in Orland Park, that is now closed. That is where I met Jennifer. She is wonderful. I went monthly when I was pregnant and she is always very attentive and works on the problem spots I tell her about. She remembered me month to month and each of my concerns. When the Orland location closed, I started going to the Western Springs location. Turns out Jennifer moved to this location, so that was perfect! I was so excited when they opened the South Loop location! It is clean, close to public transportation, and everyone is VERY friendly. I was able to transfer my membership from Western Springs to South Loop with no problems. I see both Jennifer and Tashata at this location and they are wonderful. I tell them exactly what my problem area is or if I am just looking for relaxation. I went numerous times before and after running the Chicago marathon, not only did they work on the obvious massage part but both did different stretches with me to help keep me loose.
