O.M.L. Where do I begin!?…read more.. Well, I used to go to Cortiva in the loop for my deep tissue massages, years ago. Before Covid, I was looking to hopefully return, but learned the masseuses I liked were no longer there :-(. So that killed those plans. Then Covid hit and everything hit the fan. As things started to turn around I started looking for places closer to home. Starting here @Yelp then other engines. I came across Holistic via Google Maps, which had reviews attached. I loved that it is local spot, nice and quaint and virtually 5 to 10 minutes door to door. After going on-line to see services rendered and cost, everything was good. I made an appointment for mid week in the early afternoon. I arrived and the place is pretty nondescript and hidden right off the corner, right in the neighborhood!. It was great... There were a ton of little squirrels running around, a cart vendor was selling his goods, etc,. VERY quiet block/area in the neighbor. Ana met the at the door. I filled out all of the paperwork and proceeded with a 60 min. Sports Massage. She asked all the right questions, (where would I like her to concentrate on, areas not to touch, had I had any procedures done recently, etc,.). She was/is VERY professional and made me feel at home. We talked almost thru the entire massage. She always checked on the pressure used, etc,. She HIT EACH AND EVERY SPOT, NOOK AND CRANNY, CREVIS, MUSCLE, LIGAMENT, ETC. O.M.L.!!!!!!!!......... Although I was a little sore, which said I would be, the massage was ABSOUTELY WONDERFUL. I think I took it well especially; not having a massage in many years!!!... It was a definite treat and I told her I will be back and will be signing my wife up!!!.... Word-Up! WOW...... Poet's palm indeed because my fiancée and I got a couples massage and the two of them worked on us at the same time in the most calm and comfy space with beautiful music playing and they were like poetry in MOTION! We both get regular deep tissue massages in our home city and were visiting Chicago for her birthday! These might have been the best we've ever had. Patient, strong, and knowledgeable is how I'd describe our practitioners. They kneaded the knots, stretched and ambulated sore joints, and checked in about pressure and comfort level every step of the way. It was euphoric y'all! I may have to fly them out to the DMV area!

I was having trouble booking a same-day, had managed to book one, but the price was exorbitant. I kept calling around and searching on Yelp, and eventually the algorithm allowed A Poet's Palm Massage to appear. I am so pleased that I kept looking. I am from Los Angeles and have never had the opportunity to go to a Black-owned spa. I really appreciated the experience from top to bottom. I was offered wine after I entered and sat on a plush leather couch. I didn't take the wine, but water instead, and my massage was started very shortly. Jovan was incredible! He massaged the knots in my scalp, which White therapists never do. Little things like being unafraid to touch my hair, and an R&B/jazz/chill beats playlist made me feel like this business was made for people like me. I recommend that you get your massage from Jovan ASAP, because he will shortly be doing massages only for the stars.

How do I spell relief? Salvation? Hope? UnSoo!!!!!…read more UnSoo Kim, M.Ac., L.Ac., will now and forever by my acupuncture and physical therapy goddess. Four years ago I had a C-section, pulmonary embolism, two herniated discs, and a kidney stone in the space of four months. I was hospitalized three times. All the while pumping breast milk and managing to successfully produce enough for my infant son. I slept in a lounger chair for six months before moving back to my bed on a wedge that I never moved from. For almost the next three years I dealt with my primary doctors increasing amounts of strong narcotics (Oxycontin) and anti-epileptic drugs as a means to control my pain. After seeing a pain specialist, I began to get injections directly into my spine to deal with the ongoing pain I had in my lower back. And, none of it really worked or fixed the problem. This is where UnSoo comes in. After just a few treatments, my back is beginning to feel better. I am doing the physical therapy exercises she has given me to do. I am more than happy to shell out from my pocket to pay this woman for her unique expertise in both acupuncture and physical therapy, in which she is licensed. Additionally, she was a yoga teacher for many years. She knows her stuff and she knows the body. She has got a plan to get me back into working order in about four months, and I believe she will be able to do it and to help me do it. I'll be honest, the office is cramped and overfull, and has nothing like a spa feeling. However, I still won't take away a star. If you too suffer from lower back pain, I would recommend her in a heart beat.

Devra is very knowledgeable about the body, knows how to work out injuries, and is friendly and nice too. I don't consistently get massages due to my work schedule and family obligations, but Bobbie is one of the best I have had! Her approaches are intuitive when it comes to problem areas. Her hot stone massages are fantastic, even for hot summer months. She also does facials and I did enjoy the vitamin C facial when I booked for the massage+facial combo in the past. Bobbie is also super friendly and personable. In addition, her prices are affordable for the quality of service I get. Good thing is that I don't live awfully too far and I get her availability emails and occasionally she has promotions and specials. With that said, booking on her website has never been a problem.
