A friend of mine gave me a gift card for my birthday and it took me too long to use it. I went in today, finally. I really needed some relaxation! I originally booked a NOW 25 but extended to the 50 minute massage when I got there. TREAT YO SELF. I wish the waiting area had a little bit more comfy seating but I wasn't there too long. But in the winter when you have a big coat, beanie, gloves and an umbrella it's hard to just stand around. I had seen pictures of the inside before and knew they didn't have private rooms, per se. More like lofted sections for each person. And the areas are sectioned off with thick linen. I was worried this would be an issue for me. They had sound machines in each area and the only thing I heard from someone else was a hanger falling to the floor. Otherwise it's fine. Not an issue. The massage was great! The masseuse asked me some questions before hand, which I appreciated. The table is heated and the ambiance is lovely. I was so relaxed. I am unsure if I'll be back, I'll be honest it's a bit pricey for me. There's a Thai massage place right next door that's a bit more affordable for a longer massage. But I get that you're paying for the trendiness of this place. What I loved a lot was that they didn't try to push a membership on you. What I liked: - Clean, quiet, professional decor and setting -dark and clean smelling; lavender throughout What made me feel uncomfortable/ can improve on: - Should ask for a gender preference - Should also disclose that the therapist will ask you to undress to top down completely- - I am a modest person that have issues with this but felt pressured "I can work on it better if you removed..." - the background noise was loud waves, it was very aesthetically unrelaxing. Perhaps a lower volume level would have been more relaxing or rain sounds -incomplete explanation of membership policy and rules I did sign up to be a member but shortly after I cancelled. If I could give it zero stars I would! I SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED to have a massage by someone and didn't receive that massage. I have been member since the south loop location opened, I even got a nice welcome bag. I haven't NEVER been placed with another massage therapist nor has any mistakes been made. Today was the day where I booked an appointment with my daughter and myself and my daughter had a COMPLETELY different masseuse. They did not tell me things had been changed prior to and she had a different masseuse. I actually mentioned the name of the masseuse booked for my daughter a few times and the two ladies at the front desk never told me that my daughters masseuse was NOT Margarita!! I specifically called in and requested her based me and my daughter entire experience around her . I feel as if they knew it had been changed and that didn't tell me. One employee at the front desk seemed a bit new but the other seems as if she knew my masseuse had been changed and she didn't notify me about if before hand. I mentioned margaritas name a few times and she never addressed it, Instead her energy was off setting and she wasn't the friendliest. This is the worst experience I've had because I booked it according to what was requested. I was told manager was coming in today but I haven't anything as of yet. I randomly found this place on Yelp and decided to book through their site. I had the most amazing massage from Orion this morning. I did the 50 minute massage with hot stones on my back and arms and it was worth every penny. Julian, the host was perfect, he gently welcomed me in and took the time to explain and answer all of my questions. The best part was at the end when Orion did a quick recap and even recommended a few things to do in between massages to improve my body mobility. I had Bella as my massage therapist. When she called my name, she took me to the side to ask what I needed. she asked several questions to gauge how my massage should go that would benefit my problem areas the most. I mentioned THREE things: DONT touch my butt or hair! And I need a REALLY REALLY deep massage. At the beginning of the massage, I was mentally writing my Yelp review like I always do and I thought, oh boy this is starting off too soft for my liking. By the time I woke up from the massage ( she did put me to sleep at one point, but I woke up not long after, I like to be AWARE of everything that is happening, I've had some very STRANGE massages where I had to literally pray through the thing) and it continued, I was pleasantly surprised by how well she found my knots and how each section of my body were worked on very differently. Overall it was a very enjoyable massage and I felt extremely well afterward. They have a really nice lobby with infused water they offer and the massage rooms are QUIET even though your all next to each other. BEWARE!!! The Now South Loop doesn't allow members to cancel memberships online - only in- person with some incompetent individual. I cancelled my membership in December,2024. Then, I was charged $85 to the credit card on file in March of this year. I called and was told by someone, that a manager would contact me and I would be reimbursed in 3-5 business days. No one called or reimbursed me. Then, they charged me again in April, after sending emails about not being able to access my card. This is a fraudulent company!! BEWARE!!! I've been going to NOW Massage for over a year regularly and I've been very satisfied with my experience overall. The staff at the desk is always friendly, and everything seems organized. I love the membership option that offers a discount when you go regularly and I have even recommended it to friends who go to NOW Massage regularly as well. I typically book with Robyn, who is excellent. One time I came in with a headache and she was able to massage my head in a way that got rid of it immediately, it was like magic! She is also very thorough by asking me if any areas need special attention, and making recommendations after every massage. Even during the occasional times that I'm not able to book with Robyn, I'm still never let down by any other massage therapist I've had and I'm always satisfied with the experience. I wasn't happy with my experience at another south loop massage place so I figured I'd try to go here. The ambiance is lovely and every single person I talked to was very friendly. The masseuse was a bit timid and very soft spoken so it was hard to hear his direction at times but the service itself was fantastic. The atmosphere is interesting, lots of beds in one room divided by curtains, with very loud ocean noises. The problem was that the massage was too light even after I asked for more pressure, and she didn't focus at all on the areas I wanted. I asked for help getting knots out of my neck and shoulders. One-time service was fine, massages were good. However, the membership services are frankly appalling & are as close to violating FTC rules around membership conditions and cancellations as they can get without stepping over the line. The mechanism they use to apply credits is a pay first, reimburse later (so if someone forgets to apply your membership credits towards a service, it just never gets reimbursed) and seems frequently abused without watching the charge like a hawk. It's another nightmare to try and cancel your membership. First, there is a 30 day delay period built into any membership, meaning you will still be charged if your membership renewal date is within those 30 days. Second, the Now Massages are a franchise, not a chain. So if you try and cancel your membership via email/phone, you need to make sure you're calling the correct franchise number or your request is invalid. Unhelpfully, anyone you contact about this will not inform you that you are not in their system until the last minute. Third, there's a level of decentralized responsibility that's frustrating for customers. On each call or in person visit, we consistently hit a snag where a front desk worker would claim they did not have the authority to handle a cancellation, a refund, a credit application, etc. and would have to wait until the next day for someone else to take a look at it. This process, combined with in person/call requirements, seems designed to take advantage of people without enough time to navigate their complex bureaucracy and leads to a poor customer experience. read more
