    House made bread
    Dyrbin A.

Came in a group of 4 and our taste buds had no idea of the amazing meal they were in for. Started off with expertly crafted unique drinks, complimentary house made bread, then onto the main dishes. Everyone in my group was super impressed by the quality and would definitely come back again. The dining area was super spacious as well with plenty of natural lighting.

    Fish and chips was awesome.

Fish and chips were excellent. Batter was light and crispy. Fries were great. Perfectly cooked to be super hot and juicy. We were less impressed with the tomato crab soup and the element salad. The lunch menu is mostly sandwiches, soup and salad. The dinner menu has more interesting items. But overall we will definitely return.

Comfort food cooked to perfection, with hearty portions. Element offers a variety of Gluten-Free choices. Particularly tasty was the pan roasted chicken and the salmon. Element is popular among locals, so you know it's good.

My friends and I came here for dinner this past Saturday after hiking the whole day. The restaurant is super modern and sleek so we felt severely underdressed, haha. Fortunately, we were still able to dine in despite all of that. The pricing for food here is reasonable and they have an extensive pizza menu. However, after a long hike, I needed more protein and they had so many appealing options! PAN ROASTED BONE-IN CHICKEN - 18.50 There is about a 30-35 minute roasting time for this entree. Fortunately, there weren't many people dining in while we were there, so I believe they were done within 25 minutes. This entree was definitely worth the wait. There were three cuts of chicken (drumstick, thigh, and breast) that had golden brown skin sitting on top of a smooth bed of mashed potatoes and au jus with some sautéed spinach on top. I could hear the crisp of skin as I cut into the chicken. This was super delicious and because I was really hungry, I inhaled the whole entree with in 10 minutes. I thought the white meat was done really well as it was very juicy and soaked in the flavors of gravy well. Overall, I'd highly recommend this entree as it was very much worth the money and wait. It's been a while since I was this impressed by a chicken dish at a higher-end restaurant. My friends ordered a pizza each (10" diameter, all you can get for under $15 which is very reasonable). They seem to enjoy the red sauce from the "Carbonizzare" and "Il Calore" pizzas. I'm glad we stopped by Element on our way back from hiking! Element is also in a great location (Front Royal Downtown?) with lots of other shops to check out before or after your meal!

We had dinner here while on a little get away. It's in historic Front Royal and very close to the Shenandoah entrance. The service was really good, our waitress was friendly and attentive. The interior is incredibly well done. There's also a little section that you can reserve for private events. They just changed their menu and the food was good - a little heavy and very creamy on everything for me, but we still enjoyed the meal! They also made a nice mocktail for us with strawberry and mint that was very refreshing.

Great service at the bar. Decent wine selection. Great Mexican chocolate cake. Chicken pomodoro wasn't bad, nor was the veggie falafel.

Owner/Chef Dane stopped by our table at the end of meal and was so delightful to talk with. Would gladly come back. -Brussels sprouts: delicious. Roasted and topped with parm, bacon, and balsamic glaze. As with all Brussels some bits are charred and a little too toasty for me but really yummy. -Marry me chicken: it's rich- a lot of cheese and cream. Portion is huge. Tangy sundried tomatoes cut the richness and was actually tender. I enjoyed the better as leftovers and I don't know why. Mashed potatoes creamy, buttery delicious. I don't like spinach so I got it with a side of green beans. -Green beans: good but cooked and seasoned unevenly. I still liked it -Grilled mahi tacos: I enjoyed this the most. The taco shell isn't a taco shell, more like a flatbread or naan toasted. It has a variety of textures and flavors - pumpkin seeds, jalapeño slaw, avocado sauce, and pico. It's bright and punchy and delicious. Comes w fries -Sweet potato fries: so yum. Crispy outside fluffy inside Cheese pizza: a lot of cheese- a little too much for me. The restaurant itself is lake themed with beautiful wood paneling, floor to ceiling windows, centered around a cozy fire place. I made a comment that it'd be perfect for baby/ bridal showers and my friend said people actually have weddings here. The interior is matched by an even more beautiful view. They offer outdoor waterside seating on their deck. It looks to be screened in/ have windows so you're not exposed to the weather. Service was great/ attentive.

"Our Home Town Diner" sounded good, had positive reviews, and most importantly was open at 7am. What a treat and definitely a feel of home town friendliness including the aforementioned waitress who almost was from our home town. I spotted the Jar Bowl on the menu so I asked the waitress how their sausage gravy was. She said both the sausage and chopped beef gravies were "really delicious" so I said give me the Jar with its biscuit, gravy, meat-filled omelette and jalapenos (She did ask if I was aware of those spicy devil's and I just smiled ). We arrived and the valet so kindly opened my door and guided us inside for our reservation. The inn was festively decorated and exuberanted a warmth that was just so welcoming. The staff at the desk was mere incredibly kind. We were taken to our seats and Alejandro our waiter was fabulous the whole night. In fact I can't say enough great things about their staff overall. Catalina definitely made our evening enjoyable while introducing our food and taking our plates. Again everyone did such a fabulous job taking care of us. The FOOD was AMAZING! We ordered the traditional 5 course and each dish was just another challenge to the palate. The balance of flavors and tones. The creative plating. The play on traditional flavors with modern twist. I didn't want the surprise of each dish to stop. We were lucky and during our meal had Chef Patrick O'Connell check on us. We finished the night with a special tour of the kitchen. Others see it as part of a wider "reset" affecting other longtime three-star spots like Alinea (Chicago) and Masa (New York), which also dropped to two stars at the same time. I'm not completely sure why the slight decline but here's my honest view. The scenic drive from DC through the Virginia countryside sounds breathtaking--rolling hills, charming small towns, glimpses of Blue Ridge Mountains but in actuality all of the turns and hills made myself and friend sick. We had to pull over and gather ourselves. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, filled with artwork, pink, green and gold monkey wallpaper and Victorian tables, and English country style. It's maximalist--opulent without being stuffy. Our waitstaff made the evening extra special for my birthday. They constantly wished me a happy birthday, asked thoughtful questions about my life, shared jokes, and engaged in small talk that felt genuine and personal. Not to mention the menu with my name. Each course on the 7-course tasting menu was beautifully presented. We loved having three menu options to choose from: a new seasonal tasting (always fresh and surprising), Enduring Classics (with signature dishes like the iconic lobster preparations or herb-crusted favorites), and a full vegetarian Good Earth menu with the eggplant course being our favorite. The unlimited warm bread service with fresh butter and flaky sea salt was a simple but perfect touch. The Champagne options were endless (their wine list is legendary, with a massive cellar and expert sommeliers), and they even offered a dedicated book/menu highlighting rare waters from around the world--everything from iceberg sources to unique mineral springs. I've never seen a water book before. Standouts for me was the caviar egg, lamb main course and tomato amuse-bouche. If you're looking for a special occasion spot (birthday, anniversary, or just because), this is it. Four people will run you around $2500 including drinks. Con- I would work on the cocktail menu (the Diana tasted like cough medicine). Bring back the pear dessert and portion sizes from 12 years ago. My main lamb portion was embarrassing. Reviewers see pictures for example sizes. Please offer a dedicated pescatarian menu. Overall, Chef Patrick O'Connell and his team did a great job.
