    Salmon Benedict

We had a great experience--everything was fresh and flavorful. The cod tacos were perfectly crispy with just the right balance of toppings, and the salmon Benedict was rich and cooked beautifully. The grilled shrimp salad was light, fresh, and full of flavor. Overall, a really solid meal--we'll definitely be back

Nice people. Great food! Finally a restaurant that is sensitive to folks with gluten intolerance. Burger was great. Salads are super. The tacos are terrific! The blues winged frogs look fun.

Returned for a long overdue dining experience- absolutely wonderful shrimp + chorizo + rice gumbo. Portioned well - no boxes needed and spices just right. Kelly makes a perfect Bombay sapphire martini and the carrot cake is spot on- not too sweet and sticky. The Frog continues to live up to my last review, would give 6 stars if possible. The location is a lot cozier than the Front Royal one - and the little heater in the dining room adds a lot of character. Rock on you guys!

The food blew us away when we were looking for a hearty, heathy meal on a Monday evening. The owner was beyond patient and kind when we showed up 15 minutes before closing. Just look at this amazing food!

Food was incredible and we were extremely satisfied. Stopped by after a day of hiking and rock climbing, tired and hungry. The lady inside greeted us and offered to whip us up a quick appetizer while we waited for our food to be prepared. We got our main food to go to be able to eat outside in the courtyard next to the restaurant since we were traveling with our dog. Everything about this place felt like home.

I almost never write 1-star reviews, but my experience here (food + service) was so incredibly terrible all around, especially given the good reviews on Yelp. The staff initially seemed nice, but by the end they just said sorry once and didn't seem genuinely apologetic at all. We arrived around 2:15pm, well past peak lunch hour. Most of the tables were empty. We ordered a burger (medium) and shrimp poboy, as well as 2 cups of ice water and a cup of coffee. It took about 10 minutes for the water to arrive, and another 10 minutes for the coffee (it was fine, nothing special). I finished my water within the first couple minutes, but the server did not offer to refill our empty cups for the remainder of the service. We waited an additional 30 minutes for our food. No one came to check in on us the entire time. We got up ourselves to check in with the server and he said we were next. Waited 10 more minutes... finally, we got up to leave. We went inside to pay for the coffee and they told us our food was ready. In a valiant effort to support small businesses and not waste food, we paid for the food (with tip!) and took it to-go. When we arrived at our hotel 10 minutes later, we were utterly disappointed. The burger: we ordered it medium but it came out well done and completely dry/crumbly. We ordered the burger with cheese ($1 extra) and bacon ($2 extra) but they didn't add either. The potatoes were cold and hard (but in all honesty, much better than the burger). The poboy: the sandwich had completely fallen apart and we had to eat it with a fork and knife. The shrimp was COLD. The lettuce was soggy (after just a 10 minute drive home). The sandwich tasted like a cheap salad that had been doused in thousand island sauce with some cold shrimp tossed in. The best part of the meal was the side of mac & cheese. And the sauces that came with the burger. So completely frustrated with our entire experience here. I know it's tough in these pandemic times, but this restaurant truly needs to step up and improve their food and service.

Worth the wait! I like that they lay out the expectation in advance- good food takes time!! So true. Don't go if you're in a hurry but rather save this yummy experience for a day when you can chill and converse, sip a cold VA beer, and enjoy the sunshine outside or their welcoming inside area. They are honest in that you won't get KFC drive through service so kindly don't jump on the review wagon of " it took a while to get our food". Now for the good stuff! I love the vibe. It's local, it's chill, it welcomes trail goers, locos, and weekend warriors. What a great place to grab lunch when headed to the Loudoun wineries or from Loudoun to Charlottesville. They support local breweries and farmers - love this! If you don't support local as a food and beverage establishment you should! Grab a VA beer. I had an Octoberfest from Blue Mountain and Devils Pony from South Street. Food was so good. The chicken lettuce wraps were not only tasty and a HUGE portion but so beautiful. My boyfriend had the bacon, lettuce, avocado sandwich. The bread was homemade and quite dense - almost had a faint sweet potato or pumpkin flavor. I enjoyed sitting in the sun and having a laid back lunch. We'll be back!

Tangy sundried tomatoes cut the richness and was actually tender. I enjoyed the better as leftovers and I don't know why. Mashed potatoes creamy, buttery delicious. It's bright and punchy and delicious. Comes w fries -Sweet potato fries: so yum. Crispy outside fluffy inside Cheese pizza: a lot of cheese- a little too much for me. The restaurant itself is lake themed with beautiful wood paneling, floor to ceiling windows, centered around a cozy fire place. The Apple map directions here confused me a little due to this, but parking was really plentiful so that's a huge plus! Busy weekend for a brunch but haymarket is SUCH a cute little vibe and town with so many hidden gems, like this one!! Literally every single item I saw waiters bring out from the kitchen looked so scrumptious, every person around us immediately began digging in and enjoying their meals...and honestly, no crumbs were left behind pretty much every time. We started ordering a yummy cocktail. I was really in the mood for the Paloma with grapefruit juice but sadly they were out of grapefruit juice fortunately, they had plenty cocktails available that were not explicitly on the menu! I ended up having a delicious espresso martini, prepared, right and honestly, I would have had another!! Not too sweet. Not creamy. And with 3 beans. Impeccable no notes. I ordered the red House breakfast. Man those home potatoes were so delicious....they clearly cooked them seasoned deliciously and then flash fried, so crunchy!!!! Amazing. I found that their execution on their meals was really impressive. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly and paired so yummy with the toast. The bacon had delicious flavor too. I ordered a biscuit because I had heard that their biscuits were really yummy but unfortunately they did not have their bacon biscuit so it was just a classic biscuit. It was good, certainly dense and clearly homemade. My girlfriend got the poutine. Looked so delicious and was really enjoyed! The gravy was thick and flavorful! Nobody rushed us, service was just the right amount of attentive without interrupting conversation constantly, and the floor to ceiling windows let in beautiful natural light and views of the town.
