Restaurant in the historic cabin and adjoining terrace next door to the Locke Store. Very cozy and romantic. We tried out their brunch, which was fantastic. The eggs benedict was perfectly cooked with an amazing breakfast ham. The quinoa bowl is also worth a try. Braised greens and pork with a poached egg and a lemongrass forward curry like sauce. Unique and tasty stuff. Good coffee and great service. All at a reasonable price for the quality of the food.

I was looking for the perfect place to host my best friends wedding rehearsal dinner, and I stumbled across this gem. Tucked away next to their joining store, you would almost not notice this restaurant, but behind a small alleyway, you'll find a beautiful cabin building now turned restaurant. The best thing about this place was we could reserve the entire place for ourselves. With a cozy Interior with fireplace as well as an entire outside patio with fire pit, this place was perfect. Shauna the event coordinator and Erin our server for the night, were both amazing to work with. The service, food, and beverages were all above and beyond our expectations. I will definitely be recommending The Buttery to more people and be dining there again in the future.

We happened to be visiting the Blandy Farm after a nice Winchester weekend, and I scanned yelp to find a nice restaurant nearby for lunch! (Thanks, Yelp!) Atmosphere (4/5): this is such cute renovated barn, with paintings from one of our favorite artists, Rebecca Grace Jones. They lose one star for shared seating (a bit odd) and for a cold winter day, it was a bit drafty. Service (5/5): amazing, attentive service! Food (5/5): Although the brunch menu was very small (think 5 dishes), the quality of this amazing farm to table restaurant was some of the most delicious food I've had in Virginia! I have no idea where this chef came from, but the food was just amazing! Another yelp reviewer said that this was a "lick your plate clean" kinda joint, and I even have the empty plate picks to prove it! Eggs Benedict- made with homemade English muffins and chopped salty Virginia ham! Butternut squash and Rutabaga bisque - this soup was on special and one of the most amazing soups I've ever had! It was so great I tried to get a pint to take home, but was told that there wasn't enough. Bummer!!

Beef carpaccio and roasted brussel sprouts

Great food and service! Menu rotates every month and the ambiance was nice. For our first course, we had the brussel sprouts and beef carpaccio. For our main course, we had the braised beef. For dessert we had an apple pie crème brûlée and a blood orange chocolate cake. All of the food was delicious and I would highly recommend visiting!

We stumbled upon Millwood during a Sunday drive through Hunt Country and immediately pulled off the road to explore this beautiful historic village. The Buttery was about to stop serving but seated us and our dog on its lovely back patio and made us feel completely welcome. Everything was exquisite, even the ice tea surprisingly! The avocado toast, eggs Benedict, and other brunch items were exceptional. I can't wait to return!

Overall, we had a very nice experience at The Buttery. They were very accommodating of the baby we had in our party, but we were seated at a table right near the door and it was a little loud and cold when the door kept opening and closing. The pork belly was easily the best thing we had. Super flavorful and it basically melted in your mouth. The carpaccio was also very flavorful and perfectly thin. Though there was so much on the plate, I think it detracted from the beef. I didn't get to try the bass, but the braised beef was tasty. I had just had a comparable dish at another restaurant a week prior (braised beef on a root mash) and this one wasn't quite as good. I found a handful of undercooked/in-mashed veg in my root mash and the beef wasn't quite as tender as I'd want it to be. The apple pie crème brûlée was good but it was a lot going on. Honestly, I think it would've been better plain. The chocolate cake was good - very moist and well-balanced. Overall, I was mostly pleased but it wasn't perfect for the price point.

Very much worth the trip. Feels like going back in time especially next to the fireplace. Food was excellent! I didn't leave full but it was a good amount. Awesome drinks. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Theres seating at the bar and a couple tables. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly. We ordered a few drinks and the bartender was very nice to talk to. She is very passionate about the art of drink making and shared her tips and tricks. She makes a great espresso martini but would probably make you anything you asked for and would enjoy the chance to be creative. We ordered a brie platter which was decent. It was what we were looking for (not a heavy meal). They have wine for sale in the back, as well as assorted ciders, seltzers, and beers. A bit pricey in my opinion for certain items, but that's okay! They have coffee and t shirts for sale too. Dogs are allowed here and the locals seem to know each other and the bartenders know their names too. Very nice and homey to go somewhere that everyone knows each other!! Would recommend this place to anyone.

Well it all worked out how it was supposed to because the food, ambiance, and service were great here! Water carafes were provided to the table & we ordered several drinks. All of the cocktails were beautiful, colorful and had curated understated garnishes. I enjoyed the jalapeño lime fizz, one of the non-intoxicants. Food took a little longer than expected but it was worth the wait. The red pepper pesto with linguine was creamy and rich and topped with fresh Parmesan. I only wish I'd had a piece of bread to sop up the sauce at the end! I'd be interested in trying their brunch and lunch options if I'm in the area again. Our server, Tom, was attentive. The bathrooms are clean and nicely warm thanks to a heater. We all had a great time.

Both were excellent and were not small portions. For our main we had the crab cakes and the ribeye. We are super particular on both and they hit a home run on both. The drinks were better than good as well. I love the black Manhattan and my wife had the blood orange margarita. Definitely try both. Service was top notch as well. Alec was our server and the manager Isaiah checked on us multiple times. Don't pass up a chance to stop in for a great dining experience and the ambiance was out of the world as well.

Would gladly come back. -Brussels sprouts: delicious. Roasted and topped with parm, bacon, and balsamic glaze. As with all Brussels some bits are charred and a little too toasty for me but really yummy. -Marry me chicken: it's rich- a lot of cheese and cream. Portion is huge. Tangy sundried tomatoes cut the richness and was actually tender. I enjoyed the better as leftovers and I don't know why. Mashed potatoes creamy, buttery delicious. I don't like spinach so I got it with a side of green beans. -Green beans: good but cooked and seasoned unevenly. I still liked it -Grilled mahi tacos: I enjoyed this the most. The taco shell isn't a taco shell, more like a flatbread or naan toasted. It has a variety of textures and flavors - pumpkin seeds, jalapeño slaw, avocado sauce, and pico. It's bright and punchy and delicious. Comes w fries -Sweet potato fries: so yum. Crispy outside fluffy inside Cheese pizza: a lot of cheese- a little too much for me. The restaurant itself is lake themed with beautiful wood paneling, floor to ceiling windows, centered around a cozy fire place. I made a comment that it'd be perfect for baby/ bridal showers and my friend said people actually have weddings here. The interior is matched by an even more beautiful view. They offer outdoor waterside seating on their deck. It looks to be screened in/ have windows so you're not exposed to the weather. Service was great/ attentive.
