Crab Cakes Benedict w/ Potatoes

Stephen's service was first rate. The food absolutely delicious. This restaurant was the ideal venue for celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. My wife enjoyed the Crab Cakes Benedict with Potatoes and I the Filet Mignon with Egg, Spinach, and Potatoes. Each member of our family enjoyed their meals tremendously.

Yet another incredible meal at Ashby Inn. This time we were lucky enough to stay overnight at the School House. We cannot tell you how much we appreciate the team at Ashby Inn. David, Rusty, Stephen and Chef Brian always make the perfect evening meal and now we also experienced Marie's delicious breakfast too. Would recommend the Ashby experience to everyone!

Mushroom Strudel

The mushroom strudel was amazing! As was the Venison and Beef Royale. The customer service was on point without being intrusive. Lovely restaurant - will go again often.

Finally had the opportunity to visit Ashby Inn and the experience exceeded out expectation! We went for brunch on a beautiful Saturday and sat outside on their patio overlooking breath taking view! The service was excellent and all our dishes came out tasty and beautifully presented. The pictures were only a few shots of what I had but we also had their cheese platter and filet and eggs. We hope to be back again for their fixed menu and wine pairing. Highly recommend!

Been going to the restaurant here for years. But recently stayed at the inn for the first time. First, let's talk about the food. Dinner or brunch are great options here. Recommend sitting outside if the temps permit, as the views are amazing. The menu moves with the seasons and generally includes a mix of meat and fish dishes. We have found that they do amazing things with salmon, duck and steak in particular. Also any soup we have ever had there has been great. Desserts are next level good and the wine list is extensive, including great local options from Linden, Glen Manor and Boxwood. Menus can be found here https://www.ashbyinn.com/menu-reservations Service has always been great and the price point is reasonable given the quality and overall experience. Reservations are recommended via Open Table. Bottom line: if you want a high end experience or a romantic meal with the spouse this is the place to go. Now for the inn: there are six amazing rooms in the Main House that will make you feel like nobility. While the rooms have an old school look and feel, including a canopied four-poster bed in the room we stayed in, they still have wifi and a smart tv with streaming. A country breakfast is included. Details here https://www.ashbyinn.com/paris-va-bed-and-breakfast Price point is very reasonable given the quality of the rooms and experience, especially considering what you would pay for far less in DC itself. Reservations can be made via their website at https://secure.thinkreservations.com/ashbyinn/reservations?

Note to self, don't go for one the prix fixe holiday dinners, major let down and 575$ later, will be back in the spring for normal menu. Have worked in industry so should have know better. Desserts were frozen solid, tisk tisk Ashby. Foie gras was cold!

Stopped by for brunch before visiting the wineries. The patio is lovely and overlooked the garden area. The food was delicious and the wine list was solid. I liked that the tasting menu was available during brunch but we didn't order it. Our waitress kept our water glasses full and gave excellent recommendations.

Located in a town named Paris, Ashby Inn is worthy of a special trip. I recommend coming on a nice day take advantage of the outdoor seating and scenery. Of all the dishes, the appetizers and desserts really stood out. I enjoyed the beef tartare and gazpacho soup. I also tried the crab cake eggs benedict. The crab cake was made with all crab meat which was excellent. But I am not sure I would take a road trip for the eggs benedict. Overall, service was great and we had a relaxing lunch.

Would gladly come back. -Brussels sprouts: delicious. Roasted and topped with parm, bacon, and balsamic glaze. As with all Brussels some bits are charred and a little too toasty for me but really yummy. -Marry me chicken: it's rich- a lot of cheese and cream. Portion is huge. Tangy sundried tomatoes cut the richness and was actually tender. I enjoyed the better as leftovers and I don't know why. Mashed potatoes creamy, buttery delicious. I don't like spinach so I got it with a side of green beans. -Green beans: good but cooked and seasoned unevenly. I still liked it -Grilled mahi tacos: I enjoyed this the most. The taco shell isn't a taco shell, more like a flatbread or naan toasted. It has a variety of textures and flavors - pumpkin seeds, jalapeño slaw, avocado sauce, and pico. It's bright and punchy and delicious. Comes w fries -Sweet potato fries: so yum. Crispy outside fluffy inside Cheese pizza: a lot of cheese- a little too much for me. The restaurant itself is lake themed with beautiful wood paneling, floor to ceiling windows, centered around a cozy fire place. I made a comment that it'd be perfect for baby/ bridal showers and my friend said people actually have weddings here. The interior is matched by an even more beautiful view. They offer outdoor waterside seating on their deck. It looks to be screened in/ have windows so you're not exposed to the weather. Service was great/ attentive.

The inn was festively decorated and exuberanted a warmth that was just so welcoming. The staff at the desk was mere incredibly kind. We were taken to our seats and Alejandro our waiter was fabulous the whole night. In fact I can't say enough great things about their staff overall. Catalina definitely made our evening enjoyable while introducing our food and taking our plates. Again everyone did such a fabulous job taking care of us. The FOOD was AMAZING! We ordered the traditional 5 course and each dish was just another challenge to the palate. The balance of flavors and tones. The creative plating. The play on traditional flavors with modern twist. I didn't want the surprise of each dish to stop. We were lucky and during our meal had Chef Patrick O'Connell check on us. We finished the night with a special tour of the kitchen. The highlight-- learning that they have a water sommelier! We didn't order anything but hearing him speak of the different kinds of water We will definitely be back to celebrate large and special milestones. Absolutely worth trying once in a lifetime.

The timing coincided with…read moreVirginia's state tourism office declining to pay a reported ~$360,000 fee to expand Michelin coverage into more of the state. Others see it as part of a wider "reset" affecting other longtime three-star spots like Alinea (Chicago) and Masa (New York), which also dropped to two stars at the same time. I'm not completely sure why the slight decline but here's my honest view. The scenic drive from DC through the Virginia countryside sounds breathtaking--rolling hills, charming small towns, glimpses of Blue Ridge Mountains but in actuality all of the turns and hills made myself and friend sick. We had to pull over and gather ourselves. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, filled with artwork, pink, green and gold monkey wallpaper and Victorian tables, and English country style. It's maximalist--opulent without being stuffy. Our waitstaff made the evening extra special for my birthday. They constantly wished me a happy birthday, asked thoughtful questions about my life, shared jokes, and engaged in small talk that felt genuine and personal. Not to mention the menu with my name. Each course on the 7-course tasting menu was beautifully presented. We loved having three menu options to choose from: a new seasonal tasting (always fresh and surprising), Enduring Classics (with signature dishes like the iconic lobster preparations or herb-crusted favorites), and a full vegetarian Good Earth menu with the eggplant course being our favorite. The unlimited warm bread service with fresh butter and flaky sea salt was a simple but perfect touch. The Champagne options were endless (their wine list is legendary, with a massive cellar and expert sommeliers), and they even offered a dedicated book/menu highlighting rare waters from around the world--everything from iceberg sources to unique mineral springs. I've never seen a water book before. Standouts for me was the caviar egg, lamb main course and tomato amuse-bouche. If you're looking for a special occasion spot (birthday, anniversary, or just because), this is it. Four people will run you around $2500 including drinks. Con- I would work on the cocktail menu (the Diana tasted like cough medicine). Bring back the pear dessert and portion sizes from 12 years ago. My main lamb portion was embarrassing. Reviewers see pictures for example sizes. Please offer a dedicated pescatarian menu. Overall, Chef Patrick O'Connell and his team did a great job.
