I don't get it. Granted, a lot of the reviews for this business are 2+ years old, it seems that the owners definitely took the feedback to heart. I was greeted as soon as I came in for a walk-in pedicure. Thankfully, there wasn't a wait and I was able to be seen as soon as I arrived. Everyone was super friendly, including the pedicurist. He was so polite, he even thanked me for things that I was supposed to thank him for! I would definitely come back. They were very kind and I felt like I was appreciated as a customer. Oh! Of course, you would like to know about the actual pedicure. It actually turned out really nice! He took his time painting each and every layer, and even took notice of how long each cure took for the gel polish for consistency's sake. I honestly haven't had anyone pay that much attention to almost any beauty service. We'll see how they hold up, but I am extremely pleased with my experience. I had to correct her on my finger nails, now getting back to my hotel room I'm correcting what she couldn't do. Don't even get me started on my feet. Customer service, customer service, customer service! This nail salon may be conveniently located in the skyway but that does that equate with them actually providing quality service. I have learned that a steady traffic in these nail places are just a result of their location in malls, high traffic areas like skyways or other common routes. So basically, they are a convenience trap. Unfortunately, I fell into this trap. I desperately needed to remove my full-set since it was overdue and I didn't have time to go to my usual place. I was tended to and after some nails were a little more difficult to be removed than the others I said " maybe you should do it from the other side?" In which the person replied " I know what I am doing". Excuse me, I felt that response was uncalled for. At this point I could not wait for my nails to be done! I asked for a third coat on both ring fingers that had sparkle however the nail person told me it will take longer to dry. I said ok. She then asked the man who seemed to be the manager ( with tattoos on his left arm) if she should go ahead with the third coat? He tried to discourage me by saying " it won't make a difference" . I was annoyed by now and I said "that's fine, I still want the third coat, thank you!" I guess I was asking for too much! If I am paying for my nails to be done it is customary that I get to request what I would like since it it my nails. I typically do my mani & pedi at home since after years of practice I'm able to do the same thing that your average salon does. However, every once in a while, I like to treat myself and last week I decided to do just that and get a pedicure. Sadly, I picked the wrong place!!!! The pedi chairs were all occupied and as I watched I realized that the technicians were rushing through the job for everyone (not just me). Basically all they did was wash our feet! Yes, they filed the nails, but there was no buffing. Yes, they lightly passed the pumice against my soles, but how does that remove dead skin? Oh and they even applied an exfoliating srub, but failed to massage it in so it would be effective. Overall the pitiful job took about 10mins. No don't get me wrong, I have no desire to sit in a chair for 45mins being prepped (especially since I don't need that much work), but 10mins is not enough time to pay attention to the details. As for polish time, I did like the variety of colors, but I was disappointed by the selection of designs they could execute. So with the 8 options I was given, I found something that was okay, and after providing direction on how to tweak it, it turned out cute. So, here I am 1.5wks later and my polish is just chipping away. Considering the service and results, I should have saved my money or researched a better salon. I'm visiting from out of town. I was able to get a pedicure there, but frankly, I almost chose another venue because of the gentleman who answered the phone. When I called, elegant nails, I asked him if they were open and for his location. His initial response was "We're about to close." I asked him what time did they close and he told me "7" (it was last 5:39). I arrived at 5:50 and asked if I could get a pedicure. Again, his response was curt. He tells me that he already closed the credit machine and I would need to pay cash. I questioned why he shut down early. No explanation. I then asked where was the nearest ATM and he tells me that it's on the bottom level of Target....and "It's your choice." In spite of his interactions, I returned, with cash. While I was getting a pedicure, another woman arrived and he politely told her that she would need to pay cash, where the ATM was located and "Are you coming back?" Not happy! read more

Stopped by on impulse between shopping excursions, as my nails definitely needed a touch-up and since I had the day to spend (friend was in an all day conference) wandering around before heading to the MoA, I took a massage (chair) break to relax and grt my piggies pampered. The older lady that did my nails did a decent and thorough job, once I stopped her and directed her specifically on the trimming, buffing, shape requirements, and prep work - expected before the basecoat, 2 thin layers of polish, and topcoat went on... I also mentioned I expected all the cuticles trimmed, pointed out missed spots, dry areas, polish edging, and how the tips were supposed to be done as well... the male hostess came in a couple times and did not do an ounce of work. Under strict direction, I got a decent MP... but the mani chipped after a week. Would not go back if I lived in Minneapolis. Horrible service by the staff. Peter is the man who makes it known he is in charge. The nail tech was sweet , but also not caring of her job or customer. She took three phone calls while doing my manicure and sent multiple text messages. While I waited seated in front of her at her station. In addition, She stabbed the corner of my toe nail with a tool. Today is day two after my mani pedi and my toe is throbbing. Couldn't sleep last night due to the pain. It also now hurts to put on my shoe. I'm here for business and will now need to go to urgent care to make sure I don't get an infection. Another demonstration of how terrible this business is .... I wanted to get the heck out of there , and I messed up my polish on one fingernail. The nail tech wasn't happy about fixing it for me , but reluctantly called me back over to her station. Filed my toe nails unevenly and refused to correct them as she has already put paint on then painted White tips which are also uneven and are a different thickness on each of my toes. Perfect place for a convenient no frills mani - pedi. I paid 35 to have both done. The location is right in the skyway, so I quickly ran there after work and they were able to take me at 6:30 even though they close at 7. Pedi: The massage I received during the pedicure was very comfortable and was pretty long. What I thought was weird is that they don't use base coat. Instead they just brushed my nails with some liquid substance (didn't get a good look at the bottle) Mani: Taking one star off because of the quality of the nail polish. During the second coat, the nail polish was so gloopy that she added thinner straight into the OPI bottle. This made for a splotchy initial job, which was corrected with more polish and top coat. Another down side is they do not carry OPI shellac. But other than that, I would come again. read more

I usually just get a pedicure here but since my hands were in rough shape I did a mani as well for $35 total. This place is always busy in the afternoons but I only had to wait about 5 minutes. They started with my pedicure and the guy was laughing cause my feet were so ticklish. They do a great job scrubbing and using a pumice to get dead skin off. They also do a little leg massage. The manicure I was a little disappointed with because the guy doing my nails had to stop periodically to answer calls and book appointments. I don't know if that caused some of the polish to have small bubbles or if it was the polish itself, but my hands are not the quality I expected. They do a hand massage as well which was nice but I was not happy and unfortunately had no time for corrections as I needed to get back to work. They still get a four since this was the first time my manicure was sub par. Update Manicure lasted through the weekend and started peeling Monday. Not worth it. read more

Please save your money, listen to the reviews, and AVOID! I went here for a full acrylic set and my nails ended up breaking the next day. Then day after day, my nails would break off, more than one nail sometimes! This was such a terrible experience and the even charged me to have my nail shape be coffin nails. I've never been to a nail salon that charges you for your nail shape, maybe designs on your nails, but never the shape. Also, the man that works there talks bad about their customers and those who call on the phone. I was taught Vietnamese when I was little and even though I don't look Vietnamese, I still understand. Given the intense competition for nail services in NYC, I tempered my expectations upon moving to MSP. Don't get me wrong--I used to go to the same corner nail salon and get a deluxe pedicure with 20 minute leg massage and normal/plain mani for an all-in $85. I don't want a fancy spa, but I don't want a $35 combo. Anyways, I like Elegant Nails. I got the $35 deluxe spa pedi plus 10 minute massage for an extra $15, so my mani-pedi was all in $60. There's no other option--my old salon had this wonderful foot callus eating acid that made my feet baby smoothe, and there's nothing like a 20 minute foot massage after a long day at work-and I also do a lot of running. My plain (no polish) mani was perfectly fine, and my technician could not have been sweeter. Place seemed clean but a little run-down. In any event, given that there are so few places in the skyway, I will be back but I will also be looking for a fancier place for an occasional splurge. Meh, this is a decent place to go but it won't be my "usual." It's handy if you've got an hour and want a quick manicure during lunch. I think they have a basic mani/pedi special for $30. I got a run-of-the-mill gel manicure for $30, but speed seemed to be more important than quality. I had to ask the tech to clean up a couple of rough spots before I left, and there is some gel polish on the skin of my thumb that he didn't clean up. He didn't ask how I wanted my nails shaped, only after he sanded down the corners into a weird angle did he ask if I liked the shape. What do you say at that point? It's not like you can't put the nail back... He did say that if a nail breaks or if I don't like something, to come back and he'll fix it for free. But I expect that of any salon... Also, the fumes from the industrial strength acetone made me dizzy - the ventilation seems weak. Finally, my BIGGEST issue, he didn't use sterilized tools. In fact, not only did he drop the cuticle trimmer on the floor and then use it on me, but he also trimmed his own cuticles with the same trimmer! I was so stunned in the moment that I didn't say anything ... I'll update in a few weeks with details on how it holds up. Update: not 24 hours after the manicure, one of my nails has ripped. I've also found uneven spots and have been picked the polish off my skin in a few different places. Not a happy camper. read more

This place gets zero stars from me. Yes cheap yes convenient but I will never go back. The first time I went I got a color gel manicure that lasted less than a week when typically they should last at a minimum 2 weeks. This last time I decided to get a basic manicure because that shouldn't be difficult. The woman cut my skin when she was cutting my cuticles enough to make me bleed a little. And the polish chipped badly before the end of the day. I went back the next day to have them fix the manicure and tell them that I would add a pedicure. They wanted to charge me to fix the manicure because it was a basic manicure not gel and that is just what happens. This is what I was advised by the gentleman who sits at the front station and is clearly in charge. I said that's outrageous bc my manicure looked aweful and I had only just gotten it. This is terrible customer service. I have been to many other places that will fix there work especially when the job done was so bad. I will never go to this nail salon and really don't recommend it for even the most basic services which they are not capable of handling. read more

Every time I've ever gone here the either owner or manager gentleman has been rude. Most recently, today, I called as I was walking there from three blocks away to ask if they were available for a gel manicure or what was the soonest appointment they had. The woman who answered the phone asked when I wanted to come and I said now and she told me I could walk in. When I got there the man said it would be at least twenty minutes and I told him I had just called. He said, "you called wrong number, you didn't call here." Had about 5 people working there when I went in the middle of the day on a Saturday. Not a spa situation, just a place to get your nails done! Clean - the women sprayed down & cleaned out the stations each time they were used. POLISHES: Essie & OPI - they didn't have the biggest selection but most was covered. There is a display of polishes that you can buy at the front of the store (I'm guessing they are the more outgoing colors, or for people who get squeamish about sharing polish). Had an amazing pedicure. Got here around 6:15 (the close at 7) and they were able to fit in myself and my friend for a pedicure and my other friend for a manicure. The deluxe spa pedi ($35) included a mineral salt scrub, marine mask, hot towel wrap, and an aroma hot oil massage. It was absolutely heavenly! I literally got a 20 minute leg/foot massage and I wasn't someone just rubbing my legs. She applied good pressure and actually knew what she was doing. My friends pedicure was treated exactly the same. The ladies were also very pleasant and respectful, asking us if everything was okay throughout our time.
