I needed a fill done and was interested to see how they would do so close to my home. I was disappointed right away but I tried to correct as they were doing it and they fixed the pinky nails and then did the same mistakes to all the other nails. Never once did they compare the fingers to each other. The nail shaping was done by one man and the other man did the design. They both did a poor job and shouldn't agree to shape/designs they can't do like a simple french tip on a coffin shape. Would not go back again for acrylic just a basic manicure would probably be ok Everyone was nice and service was quick if those are priorities for you, this will work if needed. read more

I use to frequent this place a lot. No so much now. The Location is off busy Hennepin in Uptown, small parking lot. It can be problematic however I haven't had to find side street parking more than twice. Not too bad. Friendly Ambiance 5/5 Very quaint nail salon. They've had an upgrade since I've visited last with light pine wood stations, chairs that massage and nice hardwood floors. Color scheme is a neutral tan with flowers and soft lighting. If you go during less busy times, it's very chill and I like when they have Judge Judy playing on TV. Very random. I know Service 3/5 If your're looking for great pedicure ask for Maria, she does a great job. She always allows my feet to soak for at least 10-15 minutes. Massaging, beating and treating you like a queen. She's the first tech to pop my toes. Lol. I Neva knew it could be so satisfying. If your really treating yourself the Paraffin is a must . I've never gotten nails done. I prefer natural but pedicures are great. Reasonable priced and isn't feel their tryin to upsell you to death. Two drawback is when they claim their machine is broke and redirect you to the cash machine. I've experienced techs being undercut for their tip as the customer eats the fee. That definitely rubs me the wrong way. Second last time I came. They claim to have availability for walk-in but when you arrive they don't. My feet soaked for over 30 minutes last Winter. Another patron mentioned the same thing after arriving to a line despite calling ahead to check. This has become the only nail place I ever go to, and now it's the only place my husband goes, too. Been coming here for pedicures since I lived in Uptown in the 90s. I have tried other places throughout the decades, and I keep coming back to this one, because even with all of its faults, the other places don't quite measure up. Either they are too expensive or they don't have good equipment or both. This place keeps their equipment somewhat updated. I am not a big fan of the chairs they have right now; the massage is too hard. But in the past they have had really good ones, and they get them replaced often. I can't give them five stars because the service isn't completely reliable. It totally depends on which technician you get. The pedicure before last, I had somebody who was pretty vicious. She scrubbed the pumice over my bones (where I didn't even have any calluses), and made me bleed. It took like a month to heal! But honestly of the probably near 100 times I've been there, that was one of the very few negative experiences. And I have had some extremely positive ones. The best pedicures I have ever had have been here. And I have splurged and went to really fancy salons for pedicures, and never had as good. But I bring my own polish now because they don't carry my favorite brand anymore. Shame, because really one of my favorite parts was picking out the color at the beginning. Pros: They almost always have room for walk-ins. I think I've literally never been turned away. Cons: That parking lot though! But if you're fine with inner city driving and parking, you will be fine here. Must bring cash or pay a fee. This is the third time I have been here - with three different people. I really don't know why there are such nay-sayer reviews. I found fair prices, good customer service, good service rendered. I came on a Saturday around 11 and was seated right away which is very convenient. I got a gel manicure and they had lots and lots of colors to chose from. I really hate the premium for using a credit card and think it would come off better as a discount for a cash price. I know this is the same overall price but the optics feel better to me. Would love the following additions: Offered a cup of water Some background music. There were background visuals with some music videos but I found the place too quiet. Changes to pricing as mentioned above. Overall very standard studio with a better than normal manicure. Saw Mina again! This time she is working on my daughter's nails. She's here to get a full set of ombré nails which so far is looking quite lovely! Everyone has a go to person and mine is Mina! I may have mentioned this in a previous post, but Mina is polite, friendly, knowledgeable, caring, and provides the most quality nail service, whether it be your toe nails or finger nails. She makes sure you are satisfied and is very flexible. I adore her! The layout of the salon is set up with the nail stations to the right as you walk in and the toe stations to the right. I recommend, if you want to get your toes and fingers done to get your toes done first so they are dry by the time your ginger nails are dry. You can always opt for no color as well and only do a cleaning. This is an easy way to be in and out. There is free parking in a lot which parks maybe 10 cars at most. Since it's located right off Hennepin, you may be better off parking on the street than the lot due to the busyness leaving. Today, we came in at 6pm and parked across the street. Probably just found my nail home ! This was my first time going a friend suggested it after seeing photos of her nails I thought to give them a try . After making an appointment for 11:30 to get a mani / pedi over the phone , the person I spoke with was very patient and ensured my time frame will be okay , I stopped to get cash in which they do have a $3-$4 processing fee for credit and debt cards , and techs can only be tipped in cash I made sure I stopped by an atm . Shop was clean and neat and didn't have a strong chemical smell at all . Major ++ ! I had a tech named Lawn which was very sweet and gentle . She didn't cut into my cuticles ( which we all know is horrible) nothing about getting my mani / pedi was rough . This past Friday my regular nail shop "Always Nails" we're closed for remodeling. So I went in to Daisy for a regular pedicure and gel manicure. A man provided my services, he was too busy on his phone on a multi person video chat that he didn't pay attention to basic details of completing a service. My polish strokes look like a 9 year old did it. The Gel should not chip same day or even the next day, we'll mines did! At the end of my gel manicure he slapped a pea size amount of lotion on my wrist and aggressively rubbed the lotion on hurriedly and then brushed oil on 3 of my 5 fingers nail beds while rubbing the old between other nails. I am utterly disappointed and did not want to cause more of a scene because I had to check him Abruptly about cutting my nails without consulting me first. I cringed throughout the entire 1.5 hour time in the shop. Reviews are a matter of opinion and I had horrible service & results. I have been going to Daisy Nails for over 10 years. Arrive a little early so if there is no parking, just wait in the lot and spots turn over quickly. I also put some laundry in to wash next door, and the lady there put them in the dryer for me while I was at Daisy Nails. For the last 4 years I have been seeing Quinn. She is very pleasant and professional. She also does a very high quality mani and pedi. The atmosphere in the salon is even nicer now - quieter, staffed well, take walk-ins. Free bottled water if you ask for it. I haven't had appoinments with the others but I highly recommend Quinn. read more

I wasn't expecting much after reading the Yelp reviews, but a couple of my friends come here fairly regularly so I thought, "WTH." Not the best, but also not the worst. I stack every nail salon against Beauty Nails in Chicago and this didn't come close to that, but I didn't leave in tears or anything either. The weirdest thing is that the massage chairs are just... I don't know... fresh? At one point I was inspired to start humming "Too Close" by Blue (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFD-eGtBYWc) because I felt "a little poke comin' throooough." My friend and I got the standard mani-pedis last week ($37 for the combo). The woman who helped me was nice, and, overall, the service was acceptable. My real guff with the pedicure is that she didn't do enough de-crusting and I felt there wasn't much filing either, so I had to do some of that when I got home to fix the rough parts. Pretty paint is great, but when I pay $37, I want someone to take a heavy hand to my feet and buff-buff-buff like crazy. Remember to bring cash, because they charge $1 to use your card. I've been going to Daisy Nails for decades, but I think I'm finally done. Pricing is good, cheaper if you pay in cash, but if you do your research, you can find the same pricing and better technique and service. Quality depends on who does your nails, so pay attention and follow up by getting someone's name and rebooking if you like their work. The men that work there always have long-term clients and never take walk-ins, so I suspect they are the best. Parking, btw, is horrible. What finally killed it for me is after booking an appointment (which really is pointless- they are going to cram in as many appointments as possible and you will wait for your tech regardless) is the ol' "Sitting like an idiot in a broken chair" They filled a tub, the safety grill kept falling off the bubbling water source and the tech just walked away and left me there with bare feet and my pants rolled up, straddling the bubbling, broken tub. "You wait," she said as she returned to another customer. Other chairs were available, I had an appointment, and other customers were raising their eyebrows and looking at me wondering what I would do. After awkwardly sitting there for about 5 minutes, watching new customers being seated in chairs that worked, I said, "I don't think I will wait. And I won't come back either." If they treat a long term, big tipping, known customer this way, it's a crap shoot what anyone's experience will be like. Perception is everything where customer service is concerned. At least ACT like you care, Daisy Nail, even if you so obviously don't. That is the art of service. And you, dear reader, can definitely find a better nail salon at the same price. Daisy was my go to spot back in high school (early 2000's). They used to have a couple tanning beds and you'd get a free tan if you got your nails done . I hadn't been back there for over a decade until last month when I desperately stop in for a super quick gel mani and basic pedicure. It was pride weekend and my normal go to spots were not able to fit me in. I was in a time crunch as I had to get to a wedding and the staff completed both services in 45 minutes. I stopped in today for a gel mani and continued to be blow away by their superb service! Today, hands down, I received one of the best gel manis I have ever had - and I frequent highly rated nail shops in search of the best. My manicure is stunning. I can go over 3 weeks with my gel manicure if im too busy to come in. Only have a cyticlrs grow out- no chips. And im not particularly carfeul with my hands either. Many places will purposely make it so u need to come back sooner to get more money but not Daisy Nail. The serve the customer. That's why they get a 30-40% tip. Job well done. I was worried about going here to get my toe nails painted because of the range of reviews. I took a chance, and I'm oh so glad I did. I was able to make a last minute appointment for my friend and I to get pedicures. When I walked in I got real excited because Daisy's has those AWESOME massage chairs. The shop was very clean and the staff very attentive. Since Daisy's has multiply HDTV's I was able to watch Seinfeld,which is great because I did not have to sir-cum to reading Glamour magazine out of boredom. I am very pleased with the service I received. My toes look super cute, and for a "deluxe" pedicure 35 dollars is more than reasonable! My only complaint is their credit card policy. I hate when I am charged more money because I want to use my card. I understand why places do it, but I think it is really inappropriate for the customer to be charged extra. I don't know anyone who still uses cash for anything so these policies seem selfish. Another draw back is that you cannot tip on your card. This was very awkward for me, and if I did not have a friend with me that could spot me money I would have felt very embarrassed. This does not seem fair for the manicurist or the customer. If I was not so pleased with the outcome of my service this credit card thing would have been a deal breaker, but the pedi is deal breaker proof. What a terrible experience today. I understand it was a bit busier than usual but they did not care about anything except herding everyone through the process. I sat down to a freezing cold bowl of water to soak my feet in. I asked twice for them to change the water to make it warm and they turned on the faucet for a few seconds and walked away. Thanks a lot lady. The woman next to me was having the same issues with being rushed through. She told me she did not get the full pedicure experience..leg massage, foot file, etc but only nails painted. She found that very odd as did I. I am not sure I will return to this location even though it is three blocks from my home. Customer service is always important no matter if you are working at a major corporation or nail salon. If you dislike your job as much as the woman who was working on me did..there is something better out there for you. read more

I had a pedicure on July 3rd and it looked GREAT for two weeks. The male technician did a fabulous massage and was very meticulous with shaping and polishing. I had a pedicure here from one of the young female technicians last August and it was very good. My only complaint is the poor ventilation. The drying station is at the front of the shop. There was someone having artificial nails applied at the first nail station. I was able to get out of there just as the noxious smell was becoming totally unbearable. The light was out on the dryer and after explaining this a few times with them arguing it wasn't working, they switched me to a new dryer that wasn't starting up and when I said this, the guy very loudly and rudely said, you have to wait!!! I said, excuse me, I don't appreciate you yelling at me and he did it again! Wow. Don't appreciate being yelled at ever especially by a place I'm spending money. Will never ever go back!!
