I went in for a pedicure twice. The first time was rushed but I was understanding since I went in an hour before closing. The second time they didn't have hot water and used an electric kettle to add water to my pedicure. Paint job was bad. I got the most expensive option but didn't receive any of the nice perks. No hot stones or hot towel. In fact they use an off brand vicks to achieve the cooling sensation. Also sent me home with the lotion pack that came with my pedicure instead of massaging it on. The most money I spent for the worst service. Nice staff but I'll pass on ever going back. read more

I'm so frustrated. And I'm never coming back. I've been coming here for years I used to come to jimmy and he did such a great job on my nails. I don't like change so when I heard they had been bought out I was really upset. I decided I'd give them a try. The first time was okay, the second time was the worst experience I've ever had. For my full set acrylics I think I paid no more than like $75, when I came back for a fill she told me it would be between $30-$40. So I said okay that's great! Well she gets done with my nails and tells me "$80" WHAT??? How am I paying more for a FILL? I said I think that's more than what I paid for a full set... I'm confused, she told me it was because I got French tip and coffin shape. First of all my nails are maybe 12cm long so you couldn't be charging me extra for length? And second your website specifically says $55 for a pink and white fill so I'm confused why I'm paying $80. read more

I went for a pedicure. I was the only client in the shop. The young woman didn't want to deal with my old lady feet and I got a very disappointing pedicure . She wouldn't deal with my being ticklish and ended up scraping the top side of my foot and I now have a bleeding wound on the outer top of my right foot. Just what I need for my trip in 2 days. There are no shoes I can wear that won't hurt and rub on this wound she gave me. I won't be going back. read more

This was my first time here and I don't think I'll be going back. I got tips and gel dip powder and this was probably the worst sI've ever had. As soon as I left I noticed the excess shavings shoved under my nails instead of being removed. Linas nails is absolutely fabulous. The inside is beautiful. Shiny new. They were very friendly on the phone. And my nail tech halena was so nice and friendly. She was very interested in my comfort and help make things better. The massage was wonderful and lasted a long time. Hot stones and hot towels too. I also enjoyed a Diet Coke well my nails were being done. Absolutely clean quiet and friendly. I am a registered nurse so I notice aseptic technique and then he passed with flying colors. read more

I've been going to this place for years, and I've usually been satisfied. Like I said in my previous review, it's not fancy, but in my five years as a customer the service has been of good quality, and worth $30 for a pedi. Yesterday I went in for a pedi, and got serviced by the dude who may or not be the manager or owner (he appears to be in charge). I don't usually see him doing pedis; he's usually doing nail art and clearly has regulars, so he must be pretty good at it. This talent does not translate to pedicures, sadly. Mine lasted all of twenty minutes. It was PAINFUL. My toes throbbed well into the night, and I had to put an ice pack on my feet when I went to bed. Worse than that, though, it was a shitty pedi. My toes look about as good as if I did them myself, worse even (and I used to be a cosmetologist). He barely bothered to trim my cuticles, and totally skipped the pre-polish buff. He used the foot sloughing thing way too early in the process, and when he did so, applied it to the top sides of my feet--the thin skinned, bony parts that have no calluses. Wtf, dude. It still hurts. (Should I have said something yesterday? Yes, probably. But honestly, I just felt so completely uncomfortable I just wanted to GTFO. But here I am nearly 24 hours later, my feet STILL hurt, my toes look like shit for this boat wedding I've been looking forward to attending, and I have a few extra minutes before I've gotta start packing to leave, so yeah, I'm gonna Yelp about it.) The other (nearly all) gals in the shop do a good job, are friendly, and seem to care about their pedicures being of a high quality. So, barring the rare occurrence where you get stuck with owner/manager dude doing your pedi (which happens infrequently, from what I've seen), you'll probably have a fine experience. In spite of this, I'm going to find a new shop. Yesterday's experience has me feeling like I literally threw $30 into a toilet and flushed it away. read more

I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Top points: it is CLEAN and decorated beautifully. When you arrive, they get to you right away and offer something to drink. They have calm music playing and it is so welcoming. More thoughts: I've been here multiple times and have had many different nail technicians work with me, including the owner. Each person is endlessly polite, engaging, patient, and talented. They take their time to listen to you and make sure you are thrilled before you step foot out the door. First time here- mani-pedi with a pink and white up top. Trish, who gave me my pedicure, was kind and the hot stones included in a standard pedicure were a nice surprise. Then I went for the mani. First, I was seated shoulder to shoulder with another customer right in front of the door behind the cash register. She had a friend with her, and when I was getting settled I almost rolled over her friend's feet with the wheels on my chair because we were so jammed together in a corner. I quickly joked and started a conversation with both of them to alleviate the tension. Keep in mind there were probably at least 10 work stations with only three customers getting manicures at the time. Then, factory style, I was shifted to the other customers desk when she was done. Much rolling of chairs and bumping into each other for the transition. But here's my biggest problem: there were nail clippings on the desk, and Jimmy did not change out his tools from the last customer. Health code violation? I asked for rounded nails because I work a lot with my hands and I don't like the way corners catch on things. I ended up getting vampire points (see picture). He got a line wrong on one of my nails and corrected it with white nail polish line which I've never seen done before (see picture). The contours on the surface of the nail are very erratic, roller coaster style. Also, employees were constantly squeezing in on my left to reach the cash drawer. It was just awkward and my nails were not as good as most manis I've gotten. Lastly, it's been two weeks and several nails are lifting near the nail bed already. In my experience, pink and whites, if done correctly, don't lift that soon, if ever. Jimmy was anything but charming- brooding, no eye contact and a little rough on the nails would be more like it. But maybe he was just having a bad day. Still searching for my neighborhood nail salon. I probably won't go back here. read more

I should've had my glasses on so I could see that the nails were smudged and wrinkled and I have never had that with a gel manicure ever. It was a waste of my time and money. Kathy was awesome! So nice and friendly. I love that they use disposable liners in their foot spas and they never reuse anything porous (and even have a sign posted about it to draw attention to the fact. My $28 pedicure included a soft drink (or water) and a great leg and foot massage with hot stones and hot towel. No hard upselling at all. Definately the best pedi for the money I have had in the area in years. Kathy said the weekenda are super busy (with the reasonable prices I'm not shocked) so she recommended coming in during the week. They have a punch card too - 4th visit you get a free design or french polish or the 5th visit you get $3 off. read more

I don't know what happened to the quality here. I was really excited to go to Lena nails and then writing about it in this review. Unfortunately, that is not the experience I had. Let me tell you how it used to be. You would go in at your appointed time. get seated in the massage chair. Select the type of pedicure you were getting and settle in. The leg and foot massage on even the basic pedicure used to be amazing! I went there after I ran twin cities marathon as part of my recovery it was so good. This last time when I went the whole thing was rushed beyond belief and I was moved along to my pedicure without even getting half of the experience I was used to. Then came the manicure... it was awful. My nails weren't the same shape. The paint was not applied fully. The finish was terrible. I will not be going back and I feel bad for selling it so highly to people by word of mouth this last year without having retested the quality. read more

I'm visiting from Atlanta. I called before I came and it's been 30 minutes , I was told to sit down and a lady who walked in ten minutes after me was serviced. Not even finger wrapping to get the old nails off. I'm taking pictures of how empty it is. It seems that they put estimates on racial bias on great paying customers, funny because I tip very well and the only reason I'm putting up with this crap is because I visited 3 other nail salons who don't have the SNS nail system I use. I asked them twice about removing the nails while I'm waiting in order not to waste time. Time is money. Well they just ate their tip and I'm going to tell them that. read more

I was about to give this salon 3 stars but after the pedi, I have to give it 4. Looks like your basic strip mall nail salon. The chairs are high tech - almost too high tech? I was concerned I might become impaled at one point the massager was so vigorous in the *ahem* tush area. As far as the pedicure itself, they buffed-buffed-buffed for callouses until I giggled then massaged with lotion. The massage was long and I felt like the tech cared about my experience. Just when I thought it was over, there was a hot-rock and oil massage; and this was the "basic." Nice going, Lena. I was also provided with an ice-cold water at the beginning of the treatment. There was a special going on and it was absolutely satisfactory for the $34 I paid for both mani-pedi, before tip. A great value and a good option for a quick, relaxing mani-pedi. A male tech took over for the mani and he was personable and efficient. The mani was a little more basic-basic compared to the pedi. Although I couldn't get the password to work and wound up using caribou's instead, they do have wi-fi, a nice perk if your data plan is running low. read more

I found this place on Yelp and although it's not in my part of the city, I'll definitely be heading back there for gel manicures and will have to try a pedicure next time (I hear they do a hot stone massage and hot towel as part of it). Friendly place, and the owner, Jimmy, was awesome. Thoughts... - Clean! The tools came out of a sealed kit. Jimmy said he makes sure all of the staff members have at least 10 different sets of tools that are sanitized so they always have a clean set on hand. - Tons of gel colors to choose from: CND, Essie, Gelish, and I think maybe another brand too? - The little soak you put your nails in has some kind of sea salt potion in it that leaves your skin nice and soft. The lotion he used for the quick hand/arm massage also smelled good, sort of vanilla-esque. Way better than that kinda generic sickly-sweet pink lotion other salons use. - Everyone was so nice! I also met his wife, but didn't catch her name. The salon is named after their daughter. :) read more

I got my toes and nails done here, and my toes are great but my nails may be the worst I've ever had. I pointed out multiple times the paint smudge and other issues and they fixed, however the nails are hideous. Super wide and all are not straight. Told him I didn't like my nails and ask if I could soak them off and get a refund and all he said was non refundable. What a mess! Never will I go to this nail shop again! read more

Went in again today for a full set, and was not disappointed! I also had a brow wax and lip wax, while getting the manicure. They always do a great job. They are fast, and have a clean, friendly atmosphere. The pedicures here are amazing! You sit in a massage chair and they use hot stones in the basic as well as the spa pedicure. It is a real treat! It is much cleaner than most places and when it is nice outside they open their doors to let in the fresh air, it is a delight to have the cool breeze coming in while getting your nails done. Tina is wonderful with my eyebrow wax. I went to a place in Brooklyn Park and the owner took off the side of one of my eyebrows. I didn't notice until I was home. She never mentioned that she did that. When I moved two years ago from South Minneapolis to Brooklyn Park I stopped going to Lena nails that I went to for at least eight years and started going to Sky Nails because it was closer and she was ok never messed up. But Tina has always done a fabulous job and her husband always did a great job on my nails I'm never venturing away. I'm in the neighborhood of 46 and Nicollet at least once a week with Ubering and Lyfting. But even still it is worth the drive and they are super nice. read more
