The technician I had is friendly and said she has been doing this for 17 years. I would note that she can be hard to understand sometimes. I got a gel mani and regular pedi. She specifically highlighted that it would take 1 1/4 hours up to 1.5 hours. Instead it unnecessarily took 2.5 hours- which was inconvenient. I also realized that while they said they used all the required sanitation practices, that overall the place didn't seem up to standards. The pedicure massage chair seemed to not work too great, & the carpet seemed dirty and I questioned the cleanliness of the gel mani machine. Unfortunately, in addition, the bottom of my foot hurt the next morning. I looked and I saw an actual red mark on the bottom of my foot. She was using a pumice stone and at one point must have used the nail trimmer to make this error and cut my skin. I will put antibacterial cream on this and hopefully it won't worsen. I read that metal instruments such as this should never be used in this way on bottom of foot. Suffice to say- I won't be back. I would recommend you try elsewhere as well. read more

KCN Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Wow!!! Amazing!! 5 STAR! I was on vacation from New York and did not have a chance to get my nails done before so I figured why not use that to explore! Turns out Minneapolis isn't popular for nail salons as New York is - so I did some research and took a chance - I came into KCN nails and was greeted by Kathy and her husband so friendly and welcoming! Kathy was very warm and even did beautiful designs on my nails included that into the gel manure price - when i told her i was visiting from NYC she's like, why are you here and I said why not! Being a NYC we love our nail salons and this place was definite up to par! highly recommend it! Kathys husband talks a whole lot - but he's sweet. read more

I choose this place on a whim and it was the worst decision I made. I asked the this (right) and got this (left.)I also wanted square but they ended up being a wide coffee so I asked the mail tech to just make it coffin and she wouldn't do it because "coffin isn't strong and it will break." The service was great but the quality of work was horrible. read more

Needed a mani-pedi for a wedding. We called and they were able to fit us in right away. One woman did come in while we were there, she was told it would be 15 minutes but after 45 minutes, she left and in a huff. I would suggest calling in for an appointment. They were very friendly. 3 1/2 weeks later my nails started chipping. Awesome job!! If I lived closer this would be my go to place. read more

The woman who did my manicure tried to upsell me a more expensive service several times after I said no thank you. She was very rough with my feet; at the time I was thinking I should tell her to take it easy, but I didn't think she was actually causing any damage with the pumice stone. Fast forward to the next day (today) and my feet are visibly scraped up and sore. This was a horrible experience and I won't be back. read more

KCN Nails - Scrapes on the side (?!) of my foot - Nail Salons Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

KCN is a great nail salon. I just moved here a week ago and was looking for a good place to get my acrylics removed and get a gel manicure. Kathy did an amazing job! She was SO sweet and I'm so happy. Price is right too. I reccomend this place to everyone! read more

My friend and I were looking for a new nail place to try out and we decided to go with KCN because it was in the neighborhood. I called and made an appointment and we were in. We got there a little early and it was maybe a 5 minute wait (at most) before we were in our chairs soaking our feet. It was very relaxing and quiet which is a must for getting a pedicure. My technician was K and my friend's was Mason, they were both great! Very friendly and conversational, it felt like a real family spot. I haven't had a pedicure in a while where my technician actually wanted to talk to me! K asked how much time we had and we said about an hour an a half, they had us done and out of there in less than that time. We both got gel pedicures and they came out great! Still looking amazing 2 weeks later and I stub my toes and kick stuff all the time. My feet were pretty terrible and needed some good loving and they definitely got it! There were some folks in there who were regulars and said they had been coming to KCN for a long time. They were joking with the technicians and the little girl that was there (who is so cute). Needless to say I am definitely going back soon for a manicure and many more manis&pedis in the future!! Don't let bad yelp reviews steer you wrong, this place is great! Make an appointment, there were only 3 technicians when we were there. read more

Hands down, best nail salon experience I've ever had. My technician Mason did an incredible job, he took his time to make sure everything was immaculate. He also gave me a TON of information on how to keep my nails strong and healthy. I was blown away with the service. This is definitely going to be my go-to salon now! read more

I work in the service industry so even gel nails never last me more than 2 weeks, and more often then that my nails are completely it chipped by the end of the first week. I had my nails done by Linda and gel lasted me almost 3 without a single chip!!!! Amazing! I would absolutely go back read more

Sunday afternoon and felt compelled to get a mani and pedi. I was on the bus coming home and called first to make sure i wouldn't be turned away or have to wait for hours. Come back 330. Can do. KCN is a pretty standard nail shop. Several nail stations and pedicure thrones. Three people were on staff with one offering waxing. I think the woman waxing also does eyelash extensions. In addition usual nail options, salon offers shellac for a longer, more durable manicure. I opted for the mani-pedi combo which was a steal at $35. Both the mani and pedi were very thorough. Implements came from sterilized packages. My only real gripe was the pedicure water was pretty lukewarm. There were quite a few regulars while I was there. latecomers (shop closes 5 on sunday) were welcomed as long as they were willing to wait. Overall, a positive experience. read more

I couldn't get into my regular nail spot, and decided to try KCN out and LOVED it. This is my new go-to place The family is really friendly, and I received the most beautiful design I have ever had. read more

KCN Nails - Perfect pedi! - Nail Salons Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

We called ahead to ask if it would be possible to get four people in for a pedicure at 4:30pm this past Sunday. They assured us that it would be no problem to do all four, and at the same time! We thought that would be fab. When we arrived, there were three nail techs, all of whom were working on full sets of acrylic nails. We sat in the waiting area, and after a few minutes, one of the ladies got up and started our pedi chairs/foot baths for us. She had us sit up there for what we thought was going to be 5-10 minutes while they finished up the acrylics. Not so. We ended up sitting in the chairs with our feet soaking in lukewarm water for at least half an hour. One of our four people finally got his pedi started, and about 20 minutes later, the second one got going. I decided to pass on the pedicure, since it was edging up on 6pm, and the wedding we were going to started at 6 - in Minnetonka. :( I tried to get up out of the chair to leave, and the lady was insistent that she change the polish on my toenails. I will admit, it was kind of nice to have someone else do it, but I could have easily touched up my chipped polish in the car. I wasn't a big fan of the oil she put on my legs before I left, either. As much as I didn't like how it felt, it DID come in handy when the mosquitoes were out in full force off Lake Minnetonka during dinner. The lady was really apologetic, and said she would "give us a deal" the next time we came in. I might stick to Lupita's Nails on Lake Street, or I might give them another shot, I'm not sure. read more

2 stars-because I want to be nice. The nail technician did a great job of cleaning my nails. However, I did not get the shape I wanted (even though my nails were long enough) and she did a horrible paint job (which is pretty much the point of getting a manicure). I use Essie's Ballet Slippers all the time (whether I paint my nails myself or hand it over to a nail tech). I love Essie because of their sheer colors and the ease of painting with them. The nail technician struggled to paint my nails with this color. This is the third technician I've been to in the midwest who couldn't apply sheer colors. As a makeup artist, I know brides like sheer colors (bridal nails), so I'd figure this is something nail technicians should be able to do. Price was decent though $13 for a mani. read more

This place is a hidden gem. The person that did my nails really knew what she was doing and the place was very clean. This will be my new go to nail place! read more

KCN Nails - Had no idea what I wanted and my nail technician came up with some really good ideas. The nails turned out great - Nail Salons Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Happy has failed with my Gel Manicure for the past 3 weeks in a row. A Gel Manicure should last a minimal of 2 weeks, but since he failed to seal the tip of the nail properly at the end of the polish treatment the polish begins to lift and chip and I have had to get a polish change 3 times in 3 weeks, that's utterly ridiculous. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED! If he would just seal the nails the review would be a 4 star. I doubt highly if I will allow him to do my nails again and he is such a sweet guy. read more

Meh, it's cheap but you get what you pay for. I asked the girl for square, not rounded, she rounded. She switched out my colors because she didn't want to spend the time finding the one that I wanted, and so my accent nail color didn't match with the "it's the same" color choice she came up with. I did gel and they started chipping within just a few days. All first world problems I realize, but I won't be coming back. read more

Being kind with the two stars because I was expecting way more based on the reviews. I went in just to get my acrylics taken off and my base nails to be clipped. I got seated about 10 minutes after I got there except I had to sit in the chair for 2.5 hours. An employee started soaking my nails and I was there for 60 minutes with my fingers sucking up acetone while she did someone's entire pedicure. The prices were fairly decent but it seemed like everyone that was in there was annoyed how long it took read more

Got gel nails a full set, and the guy didn't go off the shape I showed him a picture of. I wanted rounded and he did square. I didn't have time to sit and wait so I just sucked it up and figured I could reshape next time. They were too chunky & I told him and he said that's how they are supposed to be. I've been to other nail shops who have thinned my nails out and were just fine. Not to mention they started lifting after 1 week! I called to see if they could do a deal just because they started lifting so fast she was like no, you need to come in every 1-2 weeks for a fill so I can't give you a deal. Not even after they lifted after one week. Won't be back. read more

Stopped in here after finding it on a quick google search...so no idea what to expect. They were quick to get my pedi started and very thorough. Maybe a little too thorough, as one part of the pedi was a bit painful. I know scrubbing dead skin is good but dont take the live stuff. Overall great job and I will be back. read more

Great place! This shop has such a friendly chatty atmosphere it really makes you feel at home. A lot of places are really quiet, or the techs will only talk to each other which frankly can be uncomfortable. KCN is different, friendly, and great for walk ins; I barely had to wait at all, on a saturday afternoon no less. I paid $22 dollars for a standard no frills acrylic full set, which is a steal. Clean, and friendly! Check them out if you're in NE! read more

Love my mani pedi! Staff was professional and the price was fair. I will definitely be back.

If I could give this place a zero, I would. I made an appointment ahead of time (week before) and the minute I came in, the Asian lady gave me the rudest attitude saying that she cannot do my nails due to being "late" when in fact I was on right on time. When other people were coming in, she attended them right away while I had it wait. Can tell she was racist. Never coming here again. Horrible service. Go to other nail salons near way better service and cheaper. read more

I am so in love with this nail shop. The ladies that work her are the cutest. Every time that I have stopped in they have been more then helpful. They have a decent selection of nail polish, they offer different colored nail tips if you like acrylic, gel or solar nails. They also over a wide variety of the shellac/gel nail polish. They have different stones, gems, and trinkets that you can opt to have glued to your nails as well. The salon is always Clean and they have the autoclave out and in the open. Last time I was there I was getting a Mani and Pedi, 35 was a steal for both. The lady who did my Pedi was very good I don't think my feet have ever looked as good!. I will defiantly be back! read more

LOL at this place. I called ahead to ask prices and if they were available. Lady told me there was no wait. I arrived three minutes after my call. I sat and waited for 40 minutes before I finally decided to leave. Brutal. read more

I got a basic pedicure here three weeks ago (read: not a gel pedicure) and my polish is STILL going strong! For 20 bucks, they give you a luxurious soak, ample scrubbing, lower leg massage, and somehow magically apply the polish so it's nearly chip-proof. I'll be making this spot my go-to for nail care! read more

I really wanted to try this place out and it has great reviews so I was ready to have a good experience. Note that I live near this place so I thought the convenience would justify this place to be a regular spot. Its not. So I brought a friends. When we arrived there were maybe 4 people working in the whole salon, which isn't super unusual. We sat my friends went first. I waited for her for about 20 min two other people arrived who had called ahead and also were waiting. When my friend was done, and it didn't seem that anyone else was going to start my nails any time soon, we left. This was my friends first and only nail salon experience and I am embarrassed i brought her here. They have a very limited selection with a brand of polish i have never heard of. My friend didn't like anything they had and ended up just getting a clear polish. I may go back but the alternative salon I found was a lot better. read more

Just today walked into Coon Rapids Salon for a quick pedicure. Was greeted with a smile by the owner and encouraged to select a color while the technician started my pedi-bath. Lin, who usually works at their other salon, adjusted the water temperature and casually conversed with me during the procedure. The initial color selected was too bright after she began applying it and she allowed a quick change to a more subtle hue without hesitation. Lin then masterfully applied colorful flowers to my big toes. I mentioned to the owner she should get a raise as she was quick, professional, thorough, and very personable. When he mentioned I could request her for future appointments online, I took extra cards to share with my friends. They will have my business for sure. read more
