First, my nails broke and I have to find the nearest nail salon. Google had 4 stars on this joint. Why not. The nail technician (a guy and didn't catch his name) started PEELING off with a plier. Not soak off dip. My natural nails were broken. Mistake number 2. Mistake number 3. The technician had to buff the dipped nails with a drill. This is my new go-to for affordable impulsive walk-in manis and pedis! It's a little like your average (I think Vietnamese) nail salon - colorful with character, but it's not a super fancy spa. Which is great because you don't pay extra for ambiance or upcharged for fro-frou enhancements. It's not really relaxing when you go to another spa that charges you an extra $10+ just because you smelled something... I went here first for a walk-in gel manicure. They got me in the chair pretty quickly and the service was perfect! My tech was careful but efficient, and my nails came out beautifully. Plus, she gave a great leg rub! So I came back to get a gel mani and again I got wonderful service for a good price. Tip (on tips): try to bring cash for tip! Also, bring your own entertainment or magazine, they're a little lacking. read more

I had a rather solid manicure and pedicure here on Friday for $35. I was here with my sister's wedding party and my nail tech Jannie did a great job with basically everything. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a generic strip mall nail salon, but most ladies don't book pedicures for the view. Room for improvement: -The massage chairs. The low back knead setting was actually a bit painful and the remote wasn't responding to me trying to change the settings the whole time. -I maybe should've upgraded to the spa pedicure for this, but I was hoping for a little more sloughing. read more

First time here, I'm giving it a 3.5. My appointment was at 2:15, I arrived a half hour early. Was greeted promptly, and waited maybe 5 minutes before being taken to the chair. :) I chose the deluxe pedicure ($35) with gel polish and design. Came to $50, without tip. Everytime he put me under the 45 second fan my big toe bumped against it, so my left foot design is smudged. I also had the remnants of hard clay/exfoliating stuff left on my legs, and didn't get a calf massage. They are all very friendly and punctual, though. Not sure if I'll return. I got acrylics done there and the lady working did not do it right. I had the sides of my nails not all the way covered. I stopped in here for a quick gel mani the other day for the first time. The place was empty except for two ladies that were working. One of the ladies started on removing my old gel polish which had been on for about two weeks, when two other ladies stopped in for gel manis too. Right after that, another lady came in saying she had an appointment at 6, and at this time is was about 6:10. This is when the lady who was working on me stopped, and switched over to the person with the appt for a pedicure. I was left waiting there with foil and acetone on my fingers until the other two ladies who wanted gel manis were already finished, and then one of the other workers finished my mani. This was kind of frustrating, luckily I was in a good mood and not in a super rush. Although getting passed around to different workers is not fun. They only charged me $15 for the gel polish as they didn't have time to do a whole manicure for me. I just wish places respected and prepared for their appointments better so people like me who walk in aren't left in the dust. Overall, I am OKAY with how the gel turned out, but I would be a little apprehensive about going here again. read more

I went there with my sister...they did not offer any special deals, only asked if we wanted the basic of upgraded pedicure. The one thing I most look for in a good pedicure is, I want ALL the dead skin removed from my feet, nice professional looking paint job/design, and an awesome massage. The paint job was laughable, I had to go home after the pedicure to use my own tools to complete the removal of course dead skin, and the massage lasted maybe a whole 4 minutes with minimal technique, pressure, and even lotion. Once we were at checkout, we were both changed an additional 5$ for a "design " (mine was supposed to be French tip on one toe, my sisteres was supposed to be leopard print on one toe). Neither of was can be distinguishable! We found out for that an additional 5$ we could have both received the deluxe Jelli pedi...we we also in there less than 40 minutes. These people freak me out. In a good way. I go here twice a month for a year, then I stop for two years. Each time I've returned after a fake-nail-hiatus, lovely Jan and her team remember my name (even when I call for an appt, which is not necessary, they say "Oh, Kate! Okay!" like they really know it's me), how I do my nails (super short) and what kind of colors I wear (obnoxiously bright). On my last streak, my last nail tech would always give me sweet nail designs, then charge me less than the regular priced mani. (I did always leave great tips, but still.) They have great pedi chairs that are amazingly comfy and give you massage, and their spa pedi is like $35 for all these great wraps and rubdowns and stuff. read more

The one star is for a good gel mani price and the gentle woman who did my nails. My gel polish chipped on two fingers in less than two days. My mani is now 6 days old and 6 nails are chipped or pulling up - which hasn't been great with last minute holiday baking and cooking. I won't be stopping in again. read more

4 Stars for the pedi--they did a great job, thorough. I even laughed with the lady when she giggled at my hairy legs. (C'mon, I was in a wedding the next day and didn't want to shave until the morning of!) 1 star for the mani- They did kind of a poor job on my tips. Some were crooked, and they were flimsy and not the right shape. I asked for gel and she did acrylic anyway. They are also pretty rough on your hands. I went to another place a few weeks later for a fill and the guy asked me, "who did this to you?" and fixed the "work" to look above average. I do not recommend if you want the person working to focus on you. There were two manicurists - one doing my manicure - both talking on the phone while doing the manicure. Also the person doing my manicure had a mask below her nose - I was very uncomfortable and would have left if there had not also been plexiglass. Price is great. Been coming here for over 20 years. It is not a fancy ambiance salon. The Vietnamese lady's are nice and hard working. They speak broken English so if you need great conversation this is not the place. If your nails smudge right away they fix it free of charge:). The chop, chop, style of shoulder massage I am not a fan of, but I accept it as their style. I've paid much more for pedicures/ manicures at elite spas- not my cup of tea. Most of the time I am very happy with my treatment. This is located within walking distance from my home which is a big plus too. read more

My sister and I come here for regular pedicures when we get the time to treat ourselves! The prices are extremely reasonable: $35 for a Deluxe Pedicure which includes sea salt scrub, lotion, foot and leg mask, hot towels and a hot stone massage. Wow. It's so relaxing to sit in their spa massage chairs, read a magazine and just let the professionals handle it for you! I will continue to come to Nails and Co, they were recommended to me by my massage therapist who also works in the area. I enjoy their large nail polish selection too: OPI and China Glaze brands. The staff is always kind and friendly. We walked in at 5pm on a Saturday and they close at 6 and we never feel rushed. They take their time with you, it's wonderful. They also do a gel polish for hands and feet, which I've never had but my sister has and it looked fabulous! Thank you to a great little place tucked away nicely by Tea Source and Subway. I've been coming here for 10+ years for gel mani, pedi, dipping powder and acrylics. Price is great and owner Jani is awesome. If you're looking for acrylics ask for her, she does the best job IMO. Most of the nail techs are pretty good, but there is an older woman that is really sweet, but should prob 'hang up her apron' so to speak. She's pretty rough...like the nail version of my mom brushing through my snarly hair as a kid...no frills, just getting the job done. read more

The staff at Nails and Co. here in St. Anthony are head above other Salons of this type. I first started going there due to the location but, I keep going due to Janny's amazing skill with artificial nails AND the best french manicure I've ever had! The other staff do a good job with pedicures. There is always room for improvement in the cleaning department...I'm always happy when I see cleaning being done during down time. This place was HORRIFIC!!!! I went here about a month ago for a gel set and I could not get out of there fast enough. First of all, I question the cleanliness of the place. I like to be able to see where and how they sterilize the tools if they don't have them pre-packaged. No such luck and the floors and surfaces throughout the place were covered in dust. To add to that, one of the employees who was not working on a client while I was there, was sitting in a neighboring chair WITH HIS BARE FEET resting on a table that would otherwise be used for doing someone's nails. His feet looked disgusting (ironic for a nail tech) and he was playing a very loud video game for about 45 minutes. So unpleasant! Lastly, my nail technician was so rough with me she made my cuticles and surrounding finger area bleed on SEVERAL fingers. When I asked her to please be more gentle, she responded with "hold still". I decided on a whim to try this place and am very glad I did. I received the best pedicure of my life. The deluxe pedicure included things I've never had at other salons and it was fantastic. The technician was thorough, kind, and gave a mean massage. The manicure was just as good. The ladies there we very nice and stayed late to make sure I was totally finished. No short cuts. Horrible!!! They cut my toe cuticle, do not go here... This was by far the worst pedicure I've ever had. The ladies are old and not careful, they were incredibly rough clipping my cuticles and nails and the scrub on my calves burned (and I do not have sensitive skin). The massage was pounding my calves and not relaxing and then she cut my toe cuticle and it wouldn't stop bleeding! I stopped the pedicure so I didn't give/get any infections with the nail polish and demanded not to pay for this worst pedicure of my life.
