I was the only person in the salon at the time. After a basic gel manicure I left with less than desired results. I have bubbles in a few of my nails and all of my nails are a different shape. They had the TV playing a YouTube video about mushrooms, so that was interesting. With so many different nail salons in the metro area, I probably won't be back to Ruby Nails and will find somewhere else to go. However for the price (around ~$25) it was what I paid for. read more

I went into this salon for a manicure. I showed the technician what I wanted. Another one came over and said I'd have to get the gel nails and not a regular manicure. I've had the manicure before but was fine with paying more for something that would last longer. My technician must not have known what to do because the more talkative one came toy station to take over. I was glad someone wanted to correct what they felt were their own shortcomings. However, the simple design's result became what look like fallows of yogurt on the beds of my nails. It looks comical. And because they are gel, the two technicians layered in so many coats of polish that my nails look comical. I can't believe the ladies think this is professional. read more

Walked in after calling earlier to make an appointment and got stared at as if we didn't belong. Got told they couldn't take us and didn't understand what we were doing there. Finally agreed to take us once they realized we did actually call. Decent job on nails but ridiculously over priced and felt judged and like they wanted us to leave. $30 just for gel polish, no manicure. Extra $10-15 for a simple design on one nail. No bathroom. Ruby Nails did me and my Bridemaids' manicures and pedicures for my wedding, and we were highly satisfied! The main reason why I booked with Ruby Nails is because all their staff is COVID vaccinated which was very important to me and my girls. Also, they have pretty competitive pricing and were willing to give our group a discount if we paid in cash. I thought it was awesome that they booked out the entire salon for me and my girls to ensure our manicures/pedicures went smooth and fast. Also, the salon is very clean and the staff and guests are still required to wear masks to keep everyone safe. Overall, I will definitely use Ruby Nails again for future spa days! read more

My gel manicure peeled after 4 days! I was on vacation at the time so I couldn't inform them straight away. Upon my return I called and the owner said they would redo my nails. I came in for a redo and the lady said "pick color", I said that the manager told me to come in for redo, she said again, "pick color". I picked a color and again reiterated that I was in for a redo at no charge, I explained the situation to her, and offered to show her pictures and videos of my nails while I was on vacation. She had no interest in viewing the pictures of their poor manicure as well as no apology for their service. Then when my manicure was completed, I tipped the manicurist $10 and I was on my way, but the girl that kept telling me to pick color said I had to pay for the manicure. She started screaming when I said I was leaving given the agreement that I was there for a redo. She said a redo at no charge was only for the same color, and since I picked a new color there was a charge. To add to this awful situation, she said that I just wanted to get a new color, insinuating that I was being dishonest while she had no interest in viewing the pictures and videos of the peeling from the first manicure. I spent nearly $150 on this place in less than two weeks from 2 gel manicure and a pedicure! Also, the guy that did my redo noted the top of my nails had old residue that likely caused the peeling. I do have to say on a positive note that Timothy Trihn did a great job on the redo. I hope that he finds a different place to work as this place is toxic. My friend and I stopped in to Rich Nails for pedicures after having lunch nearby. This was our first time here and we had a good experience! The staff was very friendly and thorough. They seemed highly skilled and had reasonable prices. I'm taking one star off and giving four instead of five for two minor things: 1) the water in my foot bath never got hot and in fact my feet were rinsed in cold water which was less relaxing and 2) they were a little short on people so one staff looked after my friend and I and alternated between us. We weren't in a hurry and it was during the day so not a big deal at all. But I'll be back and would recommend this place to others for sure! read more

Tried a new spot for my 3x a year pedicure and it was not worth it. The massage chair was broken and only worked on one side of the seat, but I was told it was the only one ready (even though there were only 3 other people there as I went on a not busy Tuesday evening). Then they use liners that don't really fit the tub so they splash you when the foot massage part is on so the tech just turned it off. So no real foot soak. The towels and stones were hot ... very hot. If you're into feeling some pain in your pedicure you'll like that. And lastly the nail tech messed up one toe while fixing the toe separators and barely fixed it. Didn't even top coat it again? Truly a bizarrely bad pedicure experience. read more

This is usually my go to nail salon for pedicures and as I always call in way ahead of time for an appointment to have a spot, I do not think of going here anymore. It's understandable that Friday evenings are the busiest but after spending 2 hours and a half for two gel pedicures and a normal gel manicure AND calling in way ahead of time for an appointment I don't see the purpose in even making an appointment which defeats the whole purpose of basic customer service. A compensation would have been lovely, no? Not even the rightfully deserved punches on my punch card I've had for 6 months because apparently they're only given when paying in cash... BS. Hopefully their time management is handled better but I don't really recommend it. I was in the area so I stopped by for the first time to get a pedicure before I had to go into work and it was probably the worst pedicure that I've ever gotten. My go to nail salon is in Minneapolis and I didn't have time to drive there otherwise I would've. Don't get me wrong Ruby's nails looked cute on the inside but my nails look absolutely horrible. I had to even tell the lady that I didn't like what she was doing and she said that "they weren't done yet". When she did finish I didn't look closely at my nails. I just wanted to leave. All I asked for were gel white tips, the sides of nails are not cleaned they're crusted w/ gel, she clipped my toe nails crooked and the paint job was horrible. I spent $77 and I will have to pay even more tomorrow just to get my nails fixed by my nail salon. read more

I have been to this nail place a handful of times because it is close to me. I have never had a good customer service experience in all the time I've been. Each time I have gone, I make sure to make an appointment.... But it doesn't matter anyway because you sit in the small waiting area for 30-50 minutes past your appointment time. When I walked in I immediately noticed how spotless it was. Right away I was warmly greeted, offered a beverage, and able to sit down for a manicure. The woman who did my nails was so sweet and outgoing she even helped me pick a color which is a far cry from other places where I have had to wait to be seated and then rushed around, sometimes even having multiple people work on me. This was anything but that. She informed me that this place has all new management, equipment, colors and pedi chairs but that people still think it has the old management which has a bad reputation. I told her I would make it my personal mission to spread the word. Here I am to tell you this place is all new in an old spot. And there is easy parking. I just moved here in July and I've been looking for the right place to get my nails done. A while back, I made the terrible decision to get acrylic nails, and I've been wanting to go back natural for a while. I made this same terrible decision ten years ago, and when I had them removed, my natural nails were so badly damaged it was a painful experience. I initially came here and got a fill after being dissatisfied with the first two places I tried in town. I'm the world's worst client when it comes to making an appointment, but they got me in with an extremely short wait as a walk-in. The fill was great. She did a great job of keeping my nails thin and as natural looking as possible, yet I didn't have any issues with chipping. Since the initial visit, I decided I wanted to go natural and went back and told Lee (sp?) of my intention. She has worked with me over a period of a bit over a month to carefully remove as much of the old acrylic as possible, without weakening the integrity of the natural nail. In this way, we have managed to get rid of about 80% of the artificial nail, and I'm getting the benefit of going natural without the downside of the paper-thin, fragile, painful nail bed. Of the three places I have visited since moving to Minneapolis, this is also the most affordable. Great pricing, great service, and great nails. That sounds like a 5 star combo to me! read more

I am SO EXCITED I found this nail salon. I wanted to try a dip powder manicure because I had heard a lot about it but hadn't had the chance to try it. The pricing is very comparable to gel but it is way superior. Not only that, but this salon is only a few blocks away from my house, and I love that they give you bottled water! In the past, whenever I've gotten gel manicures it has stained towards the tips and peeled up at the cuticle after less than a week, and I have the bad habit of peeling up my polish as soon as it shows any flaws. Every time I'd get gel I would end up peeling it off and ruining my nails. Thankfully, those days are over because of this amazing dip powder. I work as a waitress, so I am constantly polishing wet silverware, tapping my nails on the ordering system, and cutting bread and fruit. I really put this manicure to the test, and honestly, I feel as if it protected my natural nail by strengthening it. The powder is like a cross between acrylic and gel, so it is much more firm. The corners of the dip powder will not peel up, so I cannot damage my nails. My nail tech (I wish I had her name... she was great.) took extra care with the shaping of the dip powder. I will say they were a bit thicker than I am used to, but got many compliments on my manicure. The only downside I had was that she used the electric file on my natural nail first which scared me, but I feel it helped better prep the nail for powder. Her gentle care trimming my cuticles made up for that, and her attention to detail was amazing. I haven't had the dip powder removed yet, but I will update my review if there is issues. I intend on letting my nails breathe for a couple days after removal and go back for another dip powder manicure... this is my new regular spot! Can't wait to bring my friends here! I love this place. Lynn has been doing my nails for years and I will follow her wherever she goes. This is a family operated salon and everyone is very nice and talented at what they do. I get amazing customer service and I have grown with this salon/staff. They offer you water, coffee, tea upon arrival. They have the best products, it is very clean and I have an overall amazing experience each visit. Ask for Lynn if you get your natural nails done.
