I have been going to Southtown for many years and normally my experience has been good with Mai and that is why I came for so many years. Lately there have been instances where she seems to never take accountability and likes to blame things on me. This past Sunday I came in for a fill & pedicure and the experience was good. Then when I got home I noticed and significant discoloration on my fingers and toe nails so I texted her and she said to come in. She added more top coat to try and fix it which didn't work so she proceeded to tell me if I don't like it then I will have to pick a new color. It's not the fact that I didn't "like it" it's the fact that I didn't get what I paid for. She removed the polish on my fingernails and repainted them. Normally Mai is friendly but she was very quiet and cold during this time. We then moved to the pedicure chair to change the polish on my toes and still she was quiet and cold. When she started to paint them she said that that was nothing wrong with my toes but she will fix it cause I "dont like it" even tho they were discolored. She started to gaslight me to make it seem like I was the problem and because of the white marks on my nails. The new polish didn't have any discoloration so what she claimed was false. I told her I didn't really want to waste my time to come back to get my nails fixed and then I started to cry. She was silent for the rest of the time while I cried in the chair till she finished my nails. Not once did I get an apology for having to come back to fix my nails and being gaslighted is unacceptable. Also while I was clearly upset and crying the new owner just watched from the chair nearby and then decided to take a nap so she clearly doesn't care about how customers are treated. read more

I had gone a few times for a pedicure and had good results. Decided to get a full set put on during my last visit. They were very "thick" and looked worse than press-on nails. They started to "lift-off" after about 15 days. I was told I had their best nail tech. Since this was the best they had, I will not be returning to this place. read more

I usually go here for dip. They are fast and easy to schedule which I like. Today for 3 gel pedicures we were charged $160 which seems crazy. And one was for a child! I go nail shop hopping all over the south metro.. this place is a definite "must go back." My nail technician, Sarah, did a great job. I walked in and did not even have to wait. She offered me water right away, and seated me to my station. The place is very clean and professional. Well, I asked for no fake nails and the lady still did fake nails. All I wanted was a manicure and she never did the manicure. I just wanted the cuticles to be removed and get out with fresh manicure. So disappointed. Do not recommend this place. My daughter went to get her nails done. After some miscommunication, which they charged her $15 on top, they did a terrible job. They didn't clean her cuticles or shape the nails. I called to talk to manager or owner and was given the run around. Was told the owner wouldn't be in till next week. No wonder they can get away with terrible service if the owner isn't around. read more

WORST. Pedicure. Ever! Seriously, I have had some bad pedicures, but this topped them all as the worst. I came here on a recommendation, and let me say I will not be taking advice from this person again on where to get nails done. A pedicure should at minimum do one thing: clean your feet/nails. This one didn't even do that. They let me soak for five minutes, lightly pumiced my feet (took a couple scrubs per each foot), then painted my nails. Their color selection also sucked. When I am spending $40 on a pedicure I expect my feet to be semi smooth. Not perfect but smooth. I am attaching pictures of how shitty a job they did. They left callouses and dead skin even when I told them I was unsatisfied. NEVER go here. It is a waste of your money. You might as well go get your own pedi supplies and save some money. read more

This is the second time I have been here and I was hoping for a better experience because it is the closest nail salon to me, but I was extremely disappointed. I pointed out the errors to the lady that had done my nails and she was kind of mad that I did. She got nail polish all over my fingers, and she barely fixed it.. Also she couldn't get my gel polish off so she used a electronic mail sander to get it off and took so much of my top layer off that the next nail person who does my nails will have a tough time keeping the length because they are so thin. I found this place to be clean and the staff very friendly, but the overall quality of the service was very poor. The services I had were a dip manicure and a deluxe gel pedicure. The dip manicure was the worst I have ever received; my nails look like clubs when they were done. The deluxe pedicure promised extra spa services like a scrub and leg massage with hot stones; the leg massage with hot stones lasted about 10 seconds each leg and I asked three different times to apply some pressure but I don't think the attendant understood English well enough to understand what I was asking. They also only wanted to apply one later of gel; I had to insist they apply another layer. The price for these services was way high for the quality of service. read more

I went to Southtown Nails for the first time today. I found them on yelp. I typically pick places based on reviews, but today I was in a rush and my nails were in desperate need of attention. Stepped in and was sat immediately. I met Mai. What a charming person. She immediately got to work and took her time making sure that my nails looked so perfect. It was so nice. I noticed that she had done certain things that no other nail artist had before. I knew I was in great hands. I even told her I had a few nicks on my nail beds beforehand and she made sure she never touched them. I'll come back again and again even if I have to drive 45 minutes round trip. I have been going to this nail salon regularly for over a decade. I used to live nearby, but moved almost seven years ago and am still loyal. I tried the salon near my house, but it didn't measure up Pam and Mai (and the others who have helped me on occasion) are fabulous. My pedicure feels wonderful and the polish is perfect! I even have them pick the color for me when I'm feeling adventurous. Some of those colors are new faves. The salon is clean, the prices are reasonable, and the technicians are both skilled and friendly. I highly recommend them. read more

Only place I've found that does a pedicure with a paraffin wax treatment for less than $50! I've been going here for a couple years now. Stays busy but you never have to wait more than 5 minutes. Mai sites the best job on mani AND pedi, speaks the best English and is a lot more friendly/caring. Doesn't forget/skip any steps and gives a wonderful massage. Went there on a Monday and a new older woman did a HORRIBLE job. Came back and Mai redid the entire full set for free and did a color and design for $5. Oh my,Mai. I've been coming here for about 8 years. Every one is very friendly. Mai is the gal who pampers my fingers and toes. She's meticulous. I've been to other salons and left with cut cuticles and that really hurts! I don't even pick out my own colors anymore. I make my appointment, show up to Mai's table where the magic happens, she picks theperfect color for me, and about 40 minutes later I walk out with glam hands. I'd venture to say this is the best gel manicure I've been able to find in the Cities. I've paid upwards of $60 bucks for gel and they haven't been as high quality and haven't lasted as long as this. I've made this my nail spot and have brought friends along to share my secret find. Southtown Nails is one of the quickest and cheapest gel manicure in the area. They do a great job cleaning up my nails and making sure I'm completely satisfied before leaving. My manicure could easily last 3-4 weeks, my nails just grow too fast. Gel manicure is $30 + tip. read more

Horrible. Got SNS (dip) on my nails and at any other place it usually lasts close to 3 weeks. Got it from this place and it lasted 4-5 days. I didn't want to go have them redo them because it would be a waste of my time for them to do them poorly again. Will never go back here. read more

Two days after getting my nails done they started chipping. They put a tip over product that was already on my nail which created fungus on two of my nails. I had to go somewhere else to get them removed. This place is not clean and they either don't know what there doing or there lazy. I had first tried this nail shop about a month ago and they did a great job on many nails. Until about three days later when my finger got swollen up and sore. I let it be and after a few days it was ok.I want back for a fill and a pedi. Thinking i might be wrong about what happened. Well not even two days later again it swelled up. This time with white junk seeping out of my finger. I thought ok maybe its many nail growing weird. No still wrong a few days had went by again its ten times worst. I want in to the er and they had to cut it open to get the infection out threat they gave me. I had to be put on meds and went through pain for a week. I finally am doing better. I'm not usually that person but the clean and nice inside doesn't always mean great codes are met. read more
