Conversation was zero. I got ready for the sugaring, she got started, and about halfway through I mentioned how this was the most painful sugaring experience I've ever had. It was painful because Jenn was using wax. She didn't bother to check on her appointments or confirm with me what I wanted. Maybe if she had put her phone down before we got started, I wouldn't have had such a horrendous experience. We finished out the waxing and just a few days later, I had hair because it all was broken off. I've never had my lashes tinted or lifted before this, but they are basically crimped upward, not curled. I have nothing to compare to, but I'm guessing she just did a poor job. Megan impressed me initially by sharing her knowledge and reasoning behind the products used. She definitely embodies the definition of a customized facial based off whatever reason brought you in her studio mixed with the recommendations that she has from what she notices. I appreciate this honesty. I personally do not use 3x mirrors because I can't handle what I might see. So I expect my esthetician to manage the horror and make me have Gabrielle-Union-like skin without having to drink a gallon of water a day. Is this too unreasonable? Apparently not, because Megan has convinced me that she can deliver. For my custom facial she used a high frequency wand to zap my milia and other skin issues. It was such a warming feeling to find her using this machine because I JUST purchased one but was afraid to use it because I didn't want to shock myself or cause any skin damage. She eagerly showed me how to use the device and informed me that it was a recommendation she usually gave to her ethnic clients, as well. Score for Heather for being proactive! First off, the lady who took off my existing nails.. this was one of the most painful nail removal experiences that I had ever had. I gotta be so honest. I was wincing in pain, she was ripping off my real nail with it and all in all.. it was not pleasant at all. Like, please, I know soaking takes way more time but it is not nearly as painful. She did give me a nice manicure, cleaned up my cuticles, cut my nails and filed them. No real complaints on that front. When I told her I decided I did not want a fresh set, she kept trying to sell me on some sort of service, I know that that is how they make money but we both know that it is important to let the nails breathe!
