I got a TEXT while I was on the way to my appointment that my appointment had been canceled!! Very unprofessional. Their staff member is pregnant and going into labor and they didn't even give her the time off!! Even charged my card for a cancellation fee after I spoke to the owner of the salon !!! Greta was my stylist. She was nice and seemed to understand what I needed. I had showed her a picture and even a video to show hair movement. I was not offered a drink and saw the drink station but couldn't figure out how to get or where their drinking water was and didn't ask because she was already working on me. She blow dried to curl my hair and I thought it looked okay at the end, although it didn't really look like what I had requested. The volume on my head from the product was huge and uneven which i pointed out so she drew a "new line" with a comb..but i still thought i looked funny. Didnt push it because figured i could wash product and style out later. I had asked her to give me layers all around as i wanted volume for my fine hair but after she finished, she didnt show me the back. I had to ask about layers before she asked me if i wanted to see the back. The layers were not in the back but I dismissed this because i thought maybe it was ok without. I wanted to use the restroom and check out my cut more but someone was in the restroom for awhile and I didn't want to wait longer so I decided to pay and leave. Once I got home and hair had died down a bit, I noticed a long random layer that didn't fit in with other frace framing ones on my left. The right side of my face had tons of choppy layers...much more than my left side. Overall, it was a very uneven haircut with choppy layers that didnt make sense and I cannot wear it natural. It looks terrible and I have no idea how to style it to have it look decent enough to go out. I've been wearing it clipped up in a bun while I wait for owner to give me a call back and embarrassed to leave my hair down in public. Left voice-mail morning after (sunday feb 12) because I'm a busy mom of 3 and asked for refund or someone to fix it soon as I have a cruise trip coming up. I honestly don't even want anyone from this salon to touch my hair anymore and just want a full ~$90 refund. The cut was uneven and though you acknowledged one side was shorter than the other, it made a huge difference in the look. Also, people's hair grow at different speeds, unlikely id gain 2 inches back in two months. Perhaps it was karma that you saw this review after you gave me my due refund back. No where was I nasty except for maybe the karma part bc of your attempt to twist my character and intentions. You sure are unprofessional about it all though which prompted me to want to share my review on facebook as well. I'd like to add that people pay you for a service, make an effort to make it a nice experience overall..or at least let people know your drink area is self serve. Post a sign maybe? Picture taken about 30 minutes after my hair was washed, blow dried (with a product I asked not be used) and then cut. Hair is cut unevenly and product made my hair greasy, sticky, heavy and without movement. I sent an email requesting a refund (having included this photo) and received a call from the owner a few days later. She said she was the woman standing at the front desk and next to the receptionist when I made my initial complaint. I don't know why she wouldn't have said anything and let me leave disappointed. She said she trains all of her employees to do African American and textured hair, that the person that did mine specializes in my hair type, and made excuses for why it looked the way it did (she didn't have enough time to do it correctly, some people like it this way, etc). Long story short, she was VERY hesitant to issue the $50 refund. read more

First time at this salon and 2nd time getting lash extension. Actually it was a refill. Yolie was AMAZING! She made me feel comfortable, was able to understand what I actually wanted (even though I didn't have the words to express it), and she was able to remove my eyelids from sticking to itself. It drove me nuts, but I didn't want to attempt to fix it myself. She explained that only happened, because the previous salon used too much glue. That would also explain why my eyes watered so much too. I had nothing else to compare it to. Yolie was able to explain how when applied correctly lash extension should look and feel. They looked so much darker and fuller. I appreciate her leaving the shape, because that was something that other salon did well. Overall, if I ever have an event again and need a little wow factor I'm going back to Yolie. read more

I was really blown away by how comforting my time here was. My entire experience in salons is all overseas, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I came in for an eyebrow wax and hair consultation. I was a little hesitant with eyebrow wax, as this is quite forceful at my precious salon which led to me getting threading to help with some of the skin irritation. But the waxing was very gentle, and I appreciated being able to have a dialogue about the look I wanted. Also !! Getting asked if I wanted consealer after was phenomenal. Never been asked for that before, and I have fair ginger skin prone to redness. Consultation was free. And we were able to discuss schedules for other stylists as well, which is great for me as military constantly moving. I came in with my husband and daughter, but they were able to sit by me the whole time. Thank you ladies. My first salon in the states in a decade, and I really enjoyed the experience. UPDATE Had my hair worked on Today by Bianca. I love it ! Had a cut, color and tone done by her. We had a great discussion all through it. She consistently asked my opinion on where we were at at the time for my hair. Natural red head. It's been a hot minute (about four years) since I have gotten a facial! I decided to give Salon Oriana a try today to get my skin looking all pretty in preparation for my birthday weekend. I am glad I did! From booking to check out, it was a wonderful experience. Their "Services" menu on the web does not advertise facials, so I called to inquire if they did and receptionist Lauren was super helpful letting me know that it was under "Booking". But even under the "Booking" tab, the facial details were pretty vague - not noting price or what it includes. Having gotten many facials in the past - I asked Lauren many questions about what the facial entails and she was very happy to check for me. Her patience and super bubbly demeanor made the booking process easy! AND they had availability same day too. I booked the 30-minute Tulasara Facial + a Perfecting Plant Peel service. Thanks Lauren! As a resident of Bloomington, how did I not stumble upon this hidden gem earlier! The salon is super conveniently located for me in the Southtown Shopping Center area with PLENTY of parking. The space is quite small, but super cozy and festive. The receptionist checked my coat, offered me a beverage and some macarons! Super tidy and well decorated. My aesthetician was Jolie and she was AMAZING the entire service! The facial had many steps to it and the peel was fantastic! Another great about the facial was the massage. I definitely felt pampered and relaxed! I was mystified that they did not ask me to fill out forms pre-service regarding my skin or any health related questions like other salons. I mention this because there were a lot of scented items, oils, and fragrances - so those who may be allergic or sensitive to those types of products may not find out until they are in the room getting serviced. Suggestions to Salon Oriana: Maybe have a heating pad/heated blanket on the bed during the facial - I was quite cold the entire service. Where do I begin with this business? First, I came here because the owner was Latina and I wanted to support her business. I am Latina. But she has been consistently disrespectful with my time. Every single appointment I have had she was late strolling in 15 - 20 minutes after the start of my appointment. I can forgive this once or twice but it is a problem. Once she kept me with my deep conditioner in the sink for an hour after I was explicit that I was on a time crunch. She was having some HR issue and instead of dealing with that shit later, she thought she could waste my time. THERE WAS NO APOLOGY and she did my hair in silence because I was pissed. Now I was just charged for a service I did not receive and no one one is responding to my text messages or calls or emails. Jessica is a good stylist but her negative attitude, disrespect for time and bad energy in the salon is just awful. Never again. read more

I saw Hanna and she almost turned me away because she was concerned about causing further damage to my already damaged hair. So as a test, she cut a small piece of my hair off and did a bleach test on it and was surprised to see that my hair could actually handle being lightened a bit and toned as well. I did have to sign a waiver stating that I understood the risks that some of my hair may fall out, and boy did it, but Heather did and amazing job fixing the hideous job I had gotten done previously by an inexperienced little man at Jungle Red Salon. My hair was suppose to be ombré/color melt (whichever your want to call it) and it was supposed to have a shadow-root because I was getting ready to grow my blonde hair out since my hair was too damaged to upkeep the blonde every 6 weeks. Anyways it was a major disaster when I walked in, the new brown roots that had been touched up to be blonde had turned this awful brassy orange, and the rest of my hair was a spearmint color, almost white, from when I removed the blue from my hair, only emphasizing that brassiness even more. Hanna swooped in like a magically hair fairy and fixed everything. My hair was past it's breaking point so she couldn't get all of that grass out in one go but she told me once my hair heals for a month (well I decided on several months) that I could come back in for toner and we could work on slowly but surely getting that brassy color to be the ashy tone I so desperately want it to be! But she did such an excellent job blending the colors into each other using shadow-root, babylights, and balayage techniques. I was so amazed. I had been going to bad salon after bad salon for months and months so to finally find someone who knows what they were doing and not only that but is a perfectionist and absolute angel was just everything!!!! Hanna is amazing and I have FINALLY found my colorist after searching for the past two years!!! I am so excited I found her!!!! I recommend her to everyone only not really because I want to keep her all to myself so she doesn't get so busy that I can't see her. Muahaha. She even stayed past the time that the salon was closed to do my hair! And she was so easy and fun to talk to! We had such a blast! I love her! I can't wait to go back and get my hair toned once I've saved up some money and my hair is in a good place. She also introduced me to Olaplaex home care! I had no idea they had a home care line and now I can't live without it. I can't say enough good things about her, seriously!! read more
