It's been almost 2 weeks since I got my tattoo done by Brian. I had given him an ink print of my…read moredogs paw print in advance. (I even have multiple really great ones and offered to send them all but he said he could work with the one I gave him). I also showed him a few pictures of how I wanted it to look; very detailed (not filled in/shaded) he said he could do it so I came back in a week and got it done. Again, I showed him other tattoos I had found online of how I wanted the print to look (dot work) and showed him one that I DIDNT want it to look like (which he grimaced at and said nah that looks like a stamp I won't do it like that). Well not only does it looks like the style I didn't want, it doesn't look like my dogs paw print at all. There is way too much shading where it shouldn't be (my dog did not have that much fur between his digits) and it makes the whole thing look messy. The individual small pads are shaped incorrectly and the largest pad is just completely wrong (shape and detail wise). The loss of my dog has hit me harder than anything I've ever had to go through - especially working in vet medicine and not being able to save his life - and I felt like Brian didn't take that seriously with how poorly my tattoo came out. If he couldn't have done detailed dot work he should've told me and I gladly would have gone somewhere else. Even if I didn't get the highly detailed dot work like I wanted, I would've been content with it looking like my dogs paw but it does not. I will be getting it removed and going to someone who will listen to my concerns and understand that this is more than a tattoo to me. I also would like to note at one point Brian said, while tattooing me, that he forgets sometimes there is a human being that he's working on. This would have been my cue to leave, had my tattoo not already been close to finishing. TLDR Im beyond upset about my tattoo and will not be coming back ever.

I actually loved this place and the artist that tattooed me. I walked in and showed him a picture,…read moreand within 30 minutes I was on the table! Brian was hilarious and any time I showed signs of pain, he was quick to make me laugh to keep my mind busy. I laughed the entire hour and a half I was there. He gave me clear instructions, and honest answers when I asked questions. I appreciate his time. Honestly I'll be going back to him for more work when I'm ready for a sleeve. I highly recommend! Oh, and also my tattoo is AMAZING. *will add more pictures once it's healed.

I first came to East Coast for a nose piercing. $30 and it was an awesome experience. Josh makes…read moreyou feel comfortable and he's hilarious. He knows being stabbed in the face with a large needle is going to suck. But he makes the experience not suck. Gypsy the dog also makes you feel welcomed. :) Then I went back to East Coast for a tattoo. It was my first tattoo and the experience was awesome. They really know how to interact with their clients to get you to feel relaxed and comfortable. I told the tattoo artist "I only want one tattoo." He told me, "Yeah, right. You'll be back." And he was right. I went back a few months later. My second tattoo experience was just as amazing! And then I went back for a third! There was a bit of miscommunication during the appointment set-up process, but it all worked out perfectly in the end! East Coast will do their best to work with you and make things right and will make you want to return... even when you initially said, "I only want one tattoo." I will only go to East Coast Tattoos & Body Piercing because their work and customer service are EXCELLENT. And because of Gypsy. And their location is perfect for me. I'll be back. :)

this place at all costs! I went in to ask if they could order me specific gems on white gold posts…read moreand they put them in for me. I already had two piercings with butterfly backs but no one mentioned there is a different kind of back now where you screw a microscopic post into a tiny hole. I had to take them out for an MRI and can't get them back in because I have paralysis in my thumbs and arthritis in my hands. I called to see if they could exchange them for the type I wanted because I can't use these and he got very defensive. He kept telling me he has a client with 4 fingers and only one hand so my disability shouldn't be a problem. If he can overcome his then surely I should overcome mine, he insisted. I felt like I was talking to a child. There was no apology for the miscommunication, no offer to try to reorder them or take them back or even issue some kind of credit. He just kept blaming me, saying I should have asked when I came in wearing butterflies and having no idea these others existed. The bottom line: They don't take an ounce of responsibility for anything and are incredibly rude to someone who spent hundreds of dollars on something she can't use. Telling me I am wrong about my disability and insisting I can pay them to teach me to do it was the icing on the cake. You don't tell a disabled person that their disability isn't real and they can do something they can't if they really wanted to. I would rather pierce my own ear with a rusty nail than set foot in this scam of a place again.
