We called to troubleshoot the 2 broken outlets(one has been broken for years, and another one just got broken recently) in the kitchen that even resetting GFIC and breakers won't fix them. Robert came and solved it by fixing both of them. He is very knowledgeable, professional, efficient and reasonable priced. He has masks on all the time and wear shoe covers in our home which we really appreciate. Besides fixing the broken outlets, he also fixed 3 light switches which weren't even mentioned when I called. I am so glad that he has all the replacement parts with him in his car. He is our default electrician for any electrical work from now on. I highly recommend him if you need a good electrician. read more

Robert had previously installed a 240 volt outlet for us and we had such a great experience that we decided to reach out to him again to install 3 outdoor flood/ring lights. Robert was amazing! Very responsive, worked around my schedule, answered all of my questions and gave a lot of additional context around repairs. He provided his opinion, was not pushy, and let us know that some things didn't need the repairs immediately and saved us some money that way. He installed some new ceiling fans for us, replaced our electrical system, and upgraded/replaced some sockets for us. He's incredibly nice and knowledgeable - I highly recommend him! read more

All the 5 star reviews are absolutely legit. Robert upgraded a sub-panel and installed an EV charger for me that included pulling wires across the garage. The price was very reasonable and the best compliment I can give is I felt he did the work as if he was doing it for his own house. I took a peek at the wiring inside the upgraded panel and they were very cleanly done. He took a lot of time to make sure he patched the wall around the new panel nicely and mounted the charger and everything just looked cleanly done. Speaking of clean, he also left my garage cleaner than before he he started. Robert was thorough, knew what he was doing, offered advice but never pressured me but just allowed me to make informed choices as to what I wanted. Highly recommend. read more

Robert installed our EV charger in a professional fashion. He's very responsive via text and the consultation was done by sending photos of the existing panel. He explained the process clearly and provided all the hardware needed for the install (expect for the charger). After installing we tested the charger to make sure it worked properly and he cleaned up the area afterwards. Very happy with the service and will call him again for future electrical work around the house. read more

We had an amazing experience with Robert Chen. He was referred to us by a friend this morning. We called him up in the morning. He was very responsive and was ready to come down the same day to give us a quote to install our Tesla wall charger. A lot of the other companies that we spoke to either quoted too high or they were going to send someone for an estimate. For the estimate, I had to fill out forms and send them pictures etc. so it was a complicated process. But Robert came to give us a quote the same day and he was very considerate of our house. Asked us the right questions of where do you want it installed and have us suggestions on how to save on material by installing it in a certain place. That way, it will not be expensive. He quoted reasonable amount and less than big companies. He finished his work and cleaned up after he was done too. Very neat end product as it can be seen in the picture. I highly recommend Robert for this and I am also planning to call him for any of our electrical needs at hour home in the future. read more

My garage power outlets were not working and after checking the breakers and GFCI plus, decided to look for electricians on yelp and found Mr. Chen. He got me an appointment the next morning. For EV-proofing my home, I wanted a NEMA 14-50 outlet and while I didn't shop around for the best prices, Robert's seemed reasonable (and it is). What really sold me was his responsiveness and attentiveness to my needs. I also liked the fact that he worked for himself and not a big competitor. Electric Chen - Electricians Near Me

Sometimes the right person comes along at just the right time. That was precisely the case with Robert Chen, owner of Electric Chen. I had a sudden power outage that took out two bedrooms and the only bathroom's GFCI. Another company started the repair job but abandoned it halfway. I first talked to Robert at 11:30am on a Wednesday and he arrived at my place at 5:15pm after driving in heavy traffic back from the South Bay. By 7:15pm when he finished up, Robert had replaced 3 electrical outlets, pulled out 2 or 3 other electrical outlets to inspect them, opened and completely tested the subpanel, and nailed the problem electrical outlet. Robert had to diagnose the crazy wiring scheme, a single line that spans two bedrooms and the bathroom in between. When he pulled the problem outlet out it was sizzling and slightly smoking so I was enormously relieved that he identified and fixed a very dangerous problem so incredibly efficiently. Robert was completely professional and totally on top of things from his knowledge as a licensed electrical contractor to dealing with me, his customer. I plan to update the ancient subpanel fairly soon and will absolutely call Robert. read more
