Victor came through with a service call due to flickering lights and inoperative outlets in my kids' bedroom. After a bit of sleuthing, he quickly determined it was old wiring, causing heat to build up and melt the wire nuts and old connectors. He worked quickly to fix things, was very open to showing and even teaching me why things happened and how he was going to fix it so it was safe. His work was clean, and he cleaned up after himself, not leaving pieces of wire all over the place. He's a real wealth of knowledge and knew a lot about the electrical in my house simply by asking when the house was built. It was like he had x-ray vision and could see through the walls. In fact, he just knows his profession and how houses and wiring was done at the time my house was built. He suggested, and didn't try and sell me on a course of work to make it so this never happened again. I've had other electricians do work in my house before and he by far was the most knowledgeable, the most thorough, and detailed. I liked his work so much, I had him and his employees come back to install some upgrades and rewire my house to make it safer and less fire prone. Victors helped me already a few times, I'm a bit late with my review but I trust him and his team, after seeing their work, they know what they are doing and how to help you. I had a chandelier and neon light put up by him. I saw him and his team member measure everything and they asked my preference and helped me be able to see the different height options. He's also replaced a single outlet with a double, as well as discovered that my whole garage was wired incorrectly in a way that if one outlet tripped, it would cause everything in my garage to trip, and helped with fixing that. Originally I wanted to get outdoor lights installed but he said I should check with HOA for their rules on that. So he is knowledgeable and experienced with regulations for lighting which is what you want with someone doing electrical work in your living space. Victor installed a Nema 14-50 outlet in my garage for my Tesla. He requested photos of the main panel and garage and then provided a very reasonable quote. I was able to get an appointment 2 days after the quote, Victor arrived on time, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and completed the job in less than an hour. Later that night my Tesla was not properly charging and Victor was very responsive via text to help me problem solve the connection issue. He then showed up the next morning to confirm it was not an outlet issue (which it wasn't) and recommended I get a replacement mobile charger from Tesla. The mobile charger was the issue, but I really appreciated Victor's due diligence and responsiveness to confirm there were no issues with the outlet/electrical. read more

Absolutely not organized. His quote on when I asked him what hap to the project quote "I receive 100s of calls a week so I don't remember"!! Incompetent. He doesn't understand code and regulations although he consistently quotes stuff like he does! So beware. Get a good electrician to double check the stuff he tells you. Third, he spends time interrogating you like you're the one interviewing for a job! If you want someone friendly, helpful to actually help you complete a project steer clear. Don't waste your time here Update: after I received the response, I'd like to clear the record just cos I can't leave incorrect stuff on here. 1. It was not a month between calls. It was 8 days. I have call logs I checked for this. And we discussed having him come out to visit the property to quote 2. My ask was REALLY simple. Have someone come out and QUOTE a job to upgrade my panel. I now have 4 bids and have hired an electrician- it's not rocket science. No need to waste time with interrogations on permits etc. The electrician I hired was nice enough to work with PG&E (picking up from me) to go through with the planning and design for the upgrade. That's part of the job you get paid for, honestly 3. My question to him on meter panel model details was to a question he had on what does PG&E want to know to issue the ok! VC Eletric recently installed two kitchen pendants, two ceiling fans, and replaced a number of electric outlets. Victor and his team were great to work with. They were very kowledgeable and answered all my questions which I really appreciated. It turned out that the original kitchen pendants I bought were not able to be installed in my kitchen for a number of reasons. Victor was very accommodating and came back on another day at no additional cost, after I ordered new pendants. I called Victor on Monday, came by on Tuesday to see what needed to be done, and was there on Wed morning at 7:15 am to do the work. I needed to add a sub panel because the new oven and microwave were plug ins on separate circuits (the old oven, microwave and warmer were hardwired to 220 V). Victor gave me a quote on Tuesday, when they started the work on Wed it proved to be much harder because there was a waste pipe that was in the way. Needless to say, he found a way to do it, still meeting code requirements, and I am very pleased with the work. He had his apprentice with him, as well as an apprentice to the apprentice. All three were wonderful to work with, very nice, respectful, and conscientious with the work. I called Victor last night and he said he came out this morning; I appreciated the fast service. I had a broken light switch and a broken plug. He charged $180 to come out and $30 for a switch. The work was completed in about 20 minutes for a total of $210. He didn't have the correct light switch color but I had no choice once he arrived, unless I went to buy one and be charged while he waited for me. As far as his customer service went, Victor was very grumpy, cold, inflexible, and almost rude. Will I use him again? Not unless I was in an urgent situation again and can't find anyone else. read more

Victor, the owner came to our house the next day and went over all the outlets and switches and found the problem in the attic. Against my better judgement, I brushed off the one star reviews and decided to give VC Electric a try. What a mistake! VC Electrics is like one of those companies you see in the news that try to charge you an arm and a leg for things you don't need and scare you into thinking those are things you do need. We overloaded one of our circuits and were not able to switch the breaker back on. I called several electricians to see if they could come the same day since it was effecting our fridge outlet. The others I contacted were apologetically unavailable or tried there best to troubleshoot with us over the phone. Victor lived close by and said he could squeeze us in while also reminding us of his $180 minimum without even taking a look at anything. Victor comes out and then proceeds to tell us everything is wrong with our panel and that it will be $3000+ to fix. He offensively degraded the panel and how "badly" it is wired to the point he blames my husband for the "mess" of how our electric was done. We explain to him that we have only moved into this house barely 2 months ago yet he still continues on the same path of telling us we have a "big mess". My husband has some electrician experience and asks for some pointers on things he himself can do but Victor is clearly of no help unless he's getting paid and flat out says don't touch anything. We ended up not going with Victor yet still had to pay his $180 minimum for basically nothing except scaring us that out electricity was "a mess". By contrast, we contacted 2 other electricians who not only came out free of charge to do an estimate but also reassured us Victor DID NOT KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT. The panel looked totally fine and they offered the simple fix of moving appliances around so that we didn't have all on just one circuit. While they did offer other upgrades that had some cost they were in no way pushy about it and made it clear that we did not have to worry about our panel at all. On top of that, these guys were actually helpful and thoroughly explained and educated us what we could and couldn't do. Avoid this scheming, rude and money hungry business. Had Victor install Tesla HPWC on a 100 amp breaker along with an additional 14-50 outlet on its own 50 amp breaker. Huge diff between him and various other electricians. He was thorough in reading the main panel specs, looking at the existing wiring, and measuring out the distances needed for the wiring and conduit. Something is really off with Victor. Tuesday 10/10/2017, a row of outlets stopped working in my kitchen. I did not notice they were all wired into one GFCI on the side of the island and therefore called VC for help. Victor said he was in Berkeley and "will stop by on his way back to the office in Dublin, around 3 pm" (his words). He arrived at 4 pm, pushed the red reset button on the outlet with GFCI and charged me $185. While I wrote the check, he began commenting that the house is really old (our house was built in 2000) and the outlets are outdated. He might have presented me with a similar upgrade offer but I was so shocked after writing him a $185 check that I just politely asked him to leave. I would n ver recommend Victor to anyone; friend or foe for two reasons: 1. He did not demonstrate any skills which could allow me to term him as "excellent electrician". 2.He did not demonstrate any skills which could allow me to term him as "professionally sound and trustworthy". read more
