There are restrooms (bring toilet paper) and cold showers. It's a large dirt lot on a bluff overlooking the beach. Be careful of mosquitoes during the night (I got eaten alive my first night, but was prepared and didn't get bitten the second time I went). I'd strongly recommend hitting up a Soriana or Calimax (Mexico's major grocery/department stores) in Rosarito before you get there for firewood (it's cheaper there), beer, tequila, soft drinks and snacks. There is a little shop in a hotel to the south of the campgrounds that sells liquor but at twice the price of the aforementioned stores. There is an Oxxo (think 7/11) at the entrance of the campgrounds that you can get beer and snacks at regular (low) prices. There are also two little food carts next to it that you can get cheap food but aren't always open. Too the best of my knowledge there are 4 restaurants/bars in the town, all to the south of the campgrounds. My favorite is Lighthouse which had great views, two TVs that show American sports, $3 tacos, $4 Margaritas, $3 beer. For the fishers out there, this is a great spot. The waves weren't huge and I did get a bunch of hits while fishing, hooked one but it snapped the line. I'd recommend using a Carolina rig with shrimp or clams/mussels. I wanted to use San fleas but they were surprisingly hard to find (I spent fifteen minutes and could only find two).if you do catch something, the Lighthouse will fillet and cook it for you. For the surfers out there, this seems like a good spot for consistent waves but I didn't see any huge ones. You can also rent surfboards and boogie boards at the entrance to the campgrounds. And lastly, if you decide car camping isn't for you, you can get good rooms at the hotels for between $55-$200 dollars. I stayed one night in the hotel above the towns liquor store for $55. It had an ocean view and private patio, two twin beds, not heated showers though. La Fonda has the best rooms but the cheapest is almost a $100 with no ocean view (but their proxy rooms do look good with ocean views). Come out to this spot, it's an extremely good vacation for the price. P.S. Also, you'll need a car which you can get insured in San Ysidro, Ca. The main highway to get there has tolls, which are $2 per stop, remember to have singles on you (it's between 2-3 tolls to get down, same going back).

The architecture of this place is magnificent. They have two stories to venture through, and I suppose a cave, but we didn't get a chance to go inside. Surprisingly it was not busy at all, and our large group were seated immediately. We decided to get a bunch of tapas and entrees to share, along with two recommended bottles of wine. One white and one red, which were both tasty. Bone Marrow + Grasshopper Sauce Roasted Bone Marrow spread over on bread is always delicious! And just in case you're wondering, yes there's real grasshopper in the sauce, and we all ate grasshopper for the first time. It was basically like a spicy marmalade spread. Duck Breast + Orange Sauce & Burnt Onion Duck meat was tender and sauce paired well. Green Catch of the Day Ceviche + Persian Cucumber & Avocado The ceviche was delicioussss. A simple concoction that looked and tasted great with tortilla chips. Potato Gnocchi +Suckling Pig Sauce, Padua, Zucchini This was also yummy. Chewy, tender. Dates + Goat Cheese & Honey This was a very delicious pairing of fruit, cheese and honey. Fried Churros con Dulce de Leche This was probably the best churros I've ever had in my life. It was extremely soft, warm, and melts in your mouth! Overall, I would definitely come here again, and next time, I'm heading to the raw oyster bar!

And that somebody also include one of the co-owners of the Encuentro winery or Encuentro Guadalupe antiresort, on the way from Tecate to Ensenada, middle of somewhere but really feeling like you are nowhere close from normal life. I heard about this place, half winery, half farm-to-table-high end restaurant, with a touch of 'glamping resort' because I had seen the pictures in some glossy mags about how the rich and famous travel. No worries, if I could go and spend the day, you can do it too. Because you really don't need to fork the $400 per minimalist-repurposed materials-beauty meets form factor cute boxes on the rocks. You can just go for the drinks and the food and you make a nice day trip from San Diego. Looks like crossing from Tecate is the easiest and fastest way, at least on the way back. Encuentro used to be called Endemico, and I am glad they changed the name, as it denotes something negative. Something that neither the environment, not the fertile nature nor the grapes are. Wine is abundant and the fruits from the land too. The winery includes 11 acres of mountain vineyards, you will enjoy a wine tasting bar open to the public from 11 am every day and an underground cellar, for which you need to make a group reservation. The vineyards produce Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Blanc and Nebiolo, among other varietals. This is a very peaceful place to be and extremely photogenic, showing all the splendor of the Guadalupe Valley, making great panoramas. Just watch out with the traffic...not the best drivers around there!

It's been a long time since my last review for La Paloma WIVC and here I am again. I come every…read moreyear or two been doing that for 40 years. It's important to note that La Paloma WIVC is primarily a residential location where people live around or maybe have their vacation homes here. There are two timeshare companies that own properties here. One is world, international vacation club and the other is Worldmark. Your experience here could vary, depending on which timeshare company you use or if you're renting from a private owner so not all reviews are necessarily reviewing the same thing unless they give you unit information or who they're renting from. My experience, we are here from WIVC. We have been using world international for years as I said 40 years at least maybe a little longer. We have been lucky enough to have multiple locations in a small area with its own pool and that has been really wonderful. There's also people who live in this section so there's a mixture of people. This year we had five units for multiple family members to come and get together which is what we usually do typically every other year. I'm currently staying in unit number 61 which is a great two bedroom unit that faces the pool from its balcony. It's a first floor so no stairs and as usual our room is the same as it's been since I've been coming here. We're all international employees a cleaning crew. They clean your room every day and they do everything. I try to help out and wash my own dishes usually but if I leave some in the sink, they take care of that. Once a week in the middle, they changed the sheets the rest of the time they come in and make beds replace all your towels clean the room. It's just really nice. Obviously these rooms are old but they do keep them updated. There's a lot of tile involved. It's a very Mexican aesthetic so I love that about it. One of the negatives might be that there is no air-conditioning in these units, but we know this and we bring fans to keep it cool. The rooms come with everything you need just like any time that you use a timeshare got all of your dishes and cooking utensils full kitchen in the two bedroom unit. You have a master bedroom with a bathroom and there is a common bathroom that can be used for everybody and there is a second bedroom with two twin size beds. So clearly designed for mom Dad and two kids, but it also works out for cousins hanging out together like us! The complex itself is incredibly safe. They have Security walking all the time keeping an eye on things they don't miss much so I feel 100% secure here. Our cars are behind a gated Security gate to in order to get in here you have to go through a security guard and be a resident or have a parking pass because you're staying here on vacation. The landscaping is incredible. It has never changed. It's beautiful garden setting and you really are right on the beach. It really hasn't changed over the years. There are four pools. There are tennis courts. I haven't made it back into the clubhouse this week. I know there's pool tables, but I don't know if they still have the sauna and steam room. I'll update if I get in there. That shows how busy we've been on this trip busy laying in the sun on the beach ha ha There is also an on-site café they're closed on Wednesdays but they have breakfast lunch and dinner. We've eaten there for dinner our first night altogether and it was fabulous. The coconut shrimp is recommended! And family members have had breakfast during this week and enjoyed it so definitely recommended. We had a lot of fun there. Overall, no change in my rating. I've been coming here since I was a teenager and I love it and we hope to continue coming as long as I can.

She was there like 3 minutes. Security shows up and says she cant be in there.. we are like no prob wont happen again. He stays there next to us just staring. After a few minutes we are like, is there anything else? yes, you have to wait for the security manager to come and give you a written warning and if it happens again you will be fined. Like what?! he stands there 10 minutes waiting for manager.. it was so uncomfortable all the guests were staring at us it was embarrassing but funny you wouldve thought we smuggled in cocaine..see pictures.. it was so weird.. There is security everywhere i guess that's good but they were writing citiations constantly i guess thats how they make money on the side!

There are 8 parking spaces conveniently located at the front. The property has three sweet and old dogs named Yogi, Vanilla, and Chocolate. There is also a nice outdoor area for visitors to sit and eat on picnic benches. We were a big party, so we reserved 6 rooms (rooms1-6); I stayed in room 2. The white bed sheets were clean, the furniture was dated, the walls are painted, but chipped. The bathroom and shower were not clean to my expectations. Before using the bathroom sink and shower, make sure to run the water for a few minutes because a foul order came up from the water being stagnant during their down times. Your free breakfast options are very delicious chilaquiles, machaca, omelette, huevos rancheros, frijjoles, and fresh and delicious fruit! Everyone working there was very nice!

The water pressure in the shower was lighter than I'm used to but it didn't matter because all of the other things surpassed my expectations. They served us a wonderful breakfast outdoors in the morning which made us feel right at home. I got to relax in the hammock outside and even feed the nice donkeys onsite. If you're looking for a quiet, safe, cozy, serene place in Valle, I highly recommend Casa Mayoral. I wish I would have taken more photos but I was too busy enjoying myself and all they had to offer!

The entire perimeter is fenced in with a security guard at the entrance who keeps tabs on everyone in the complex. A 2 bedroom home can accommodate 4 guests, and they are strict about this. You will not be allowed to have additional guests even for a few hours, therefore it is very safe and private. I love the architecture which ranges from Mexican Baroque to traditional Spanish Colonial and the entire compound has cobblestone streets and cement walking paths. There are several little gardens of roses and other lovely flowers making this a great place to take walks and enjoy the scenery. The large pool/jacuzzi area has plenty of lounge chairs and shaded seating, a shuffleboard court, a gym, and a banquet room. There is also a large surfing beach with several sturdy palapas for all guests and owners to use. A visit to Las Gaviotas is certainly a treat. I love to relax, enjoy a good book followed by a leisurely walk, then swimming and a relaxing dinner when I visit.

I had to get into the shower and help my mom in as it's a tub with no way in except about 2 feet high and no rails to hold on to. We will definitely be back!!
