The property itself was beautiful, grape vines everywhere, a beautiful pool/hot tub area and a fountain with a view of the valley in the background. The room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The best part about the room was the view and the patio overlooking the view. The service was perfect, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. And not all the staff can speak perfect English, but it was easy to communicate with everyone, and I cannot express just how friendly every staff member was. This hotel had everything we needed. There are two restaurants on site, one that is open for breakfast/lunch, and closes around 5pm and another that is open for dinner and opens around 5-6pm. The dinner restaurant on site Aledano, is newer and the Chef is incredible, he came to speak with us and make recommendations and when I told him I was vegetarian he prepared the Orzo dish without meat and honestly, it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. There is also a beautiful winery on site with wonderful wine. Everything about this hotel is perfect. I would recommend it more for couples given how romantic is can be but would be great alone or with friends as well! I cannot wait to go back and visit!

Wine vineyard resort in Encuentro Guadalupè Just a 2 hour…read moredrive from San Diego. Drove through the vineyard where the air smelled sweet. The resort allowed our dog Gucci which is neat. Surrounded by wine the whole weekend through. Private eco-loft with the prettiest view. You can peek out and see the vineyards down below. And watch the stars twinkle putting on a show. They have a gourmet restaurant beside the infinity pool. And they bring your food and drinks so you can stay cool. I recommend avocado toast and dragon fruit cocktail And you can walk through the vineyards and follow the trail. This wine paradise feels a million miles away. I'd recommend for a weekend get away.

There is absolutely no doubt that Encuentro is one of the more beautiful stays south of San Diego…read more It is a unique loft hidden on a vineyard hill with excellent views of the Guadalupe Valley. The good: They offer most things a hotel/resort would, excellent dining, scenic views, valet transport, clean spaces. The bad: The terrain to drive and walk on is rough. To go to the pool/restaurant you will have a short walk through a dirt path which is not terrible but can be freezing in the evening. The only comfortable furniture in the loft will be the bed, otherwise everything else will be industrial wood and cast iron furniture. The shuttle drivers are the only reason they are not getting less of a rating. They were polite, helpful and timely. The front office staff, though nice, were not willing to help with much else. Overall, This is a stunning location for a short stay. Loved soaking in the sunset sitting next to a fire with a glass of cabernet. For the price, I truly believe it could be better! A full length mirror, comfortable seating in the rooms (the poolside furniture is great), better barking set up because its an unpaved rough ascent to the parking area. On my next trip to Valle, I would look for something with more of a homey/hotel feel as Encuentro is more of an experience.

    Ojo Azul - Restroom

Ojo Azul in Valle de Guadalupe is a really lovely spot for a romantic, peaceful getaway…read more The hotel has a unique charm; it includes a small winery, a restaurant, and even a cave cellar you can go wine tastingin, which was honestly one of the coolest parts of the experience. It definitely feels like a special place that's more about relaxing and enjoying the wine country vibes than doing anything busy or fast-paced. The rooms are separate from each other, so it feels very private and quiet.. Perfect if you're looking to disconnect and have a calm weekend away... Our room was clean and had plenty of space... The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the shower was roomy... They also have a refrigerator stocked with Their in house wine bottles you can choose from, which adds a fun touch... The property has a pool and spa area, but just keep in mind it's communal, there aren't private hot tubs or private spa setups in the rooms... Still, everything was well-maintained and relaxing... Pricing felt reasonable compared to other hotels in Valle, especially for how nice and comfortable everything was... One thing to note: Valle de Guadalupe is very spread out. This isn't a place to stay if you want nightlife or to be within walking distance of multiple wineries. You'll definitely need to drive to get around, and some of the roads are unpaved... The host was also extremely welcoming.. We arrived late after hours, and they were still available at the front desk, answered all our questions, and made us feel really comfortable... Overall, Ojo Azul is a beautiful, clean, romantic place to stay if you're looking for a quiet wine country escape. Would definitely recommend for couples looking to unwind..

The room was also very nice overall. However, there were some serious downsides. The shower floor was broken, and I actually slipped and fell because of it, which is a safety issue that shouldn't be overlooked. Another big problem was the lack of food options. We arrived at 5pm and there were no restaurants open. The staff were in a hurry to leave. Unfortunately, leaving wasn't really an option because the road conditions were extremely bad. Our car barely made it through the muddy terrain. Communication was also lacking. They only sent a WhatsApp message about road directions, and it wasn't very helpful. We ended up relying on another couple who had attempted the drive and turned back--we followed them, and even then, the road was very difficult to navigate. Service was minimal as well. The only staff member available was the watchman, and even simple requests (like a wine opener) took a long time. If you decide to stay here, come prepared: bring your own food and make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle. The setting is beautiful, but the logistics and safety concerns make it hard to fully enjoy the experience.

We had to PAY to get towed. The hotel did nothing to warn us about this and when we complained they said that other cars were able to get in through the mud so we should've been able to do the same. (there is only one entrance and one exit) I hardly write negative reviews but they did nothing to correct/help WHATSOEVER. I would love to come back but maybe think twice if it's rainy season or if you have a low car ! if you need any help after 5pm good luck there is only one security and he is in charge of front desk duties and check-in! (possible understaffing?) Unsure maybe it was just this once who knows

On one hand, Yelp is for the…read morepeople and sharing businesses that didn't previously exist on Yelp is the right thing to do. On the other hand, adding a small business such as this one will certainly bring more attention, which can ultimately weed me out when I want to frequent it. I took the high road, friends, Casa Emiliana is now another visible option for those of you visiting, Valle De Guadalupe. Though dotted with a slew of lodging options, Valle De Guadalupe can be tough to find a spot that is central and not completely secluded. If seclusion is what you want, Casa Emiliana is not for you. This bed and breakfast is right in the center of "town," on the main road, and exactly what I like. The wineries that provide lodging with long dusty dirt roads will provide you the isolated experience while this place is much more accessible - easy to get in, easy to get out. Cleanliness is a priority here and you'll instantly see that they didn't skimp on construction costs here. Our room was huge and though billed as a bed and breakfast we felt that this was certainly much more of a small hotel. Seven rooms, all separated and private, beautiful bathrooms, comfortable beds, and a massive layout. The only downfall, no television in the room. Some may appreciated the lack of connection to the outside world but I did miss the TV. Here is the best part... rent all seven rooms and you basically have the entire place to yourself. We were fortunate enough to have all seven rooms and set up a nice bonfire with balloons, wine, Tequila, and snacks after a long day at the wineries and dinner. The worst part... in Mexico the roosters are the real deal and our neighbor happened to have one that woke up particularly early and let us know. 3:30 am wake up call?! No thanks! Not Casa Emiliana's fault but really, really, REALLY annoying. Oh, the pan dulce in the morning is the best I've ever had. So, don't go here, I'll hate you forever if I can't get a reservation.

Provide kitchen towels (paper and cloth); and 4. Put plastic bags in the kitchen's trash container.

It's an open road and you will only feel comfortable if you are driving a truck or go 2 miles an hour. Secondly, our room wasn't ready until 3:45pm, the room was nice, but it wasn't cleaned properly. The floor was dusty and there were pieces of food next to the bed. The night tables were also dusty and the sink in the bathroom looked dirty. They advertise a rain shower head, but there's just water going everywhere at changing pressure, it's a nightmare if you are trying to wash your hair! Their spa closes at 3:30pm, so treatments are only available in the morning. Their pool is not heated and in order to access the jacuzzi, you have to pay a day pass at the spa ($80 per person). The complimentary breakfast they offer is just coffee, fruit and small muffin or brownie, but the menu they have is pretty good. We had the fit omelette, the brioche bread and the huarache and it was all very tasty. The one positive thing about this place is their restaurant "fuego". We ate there twice and loooooved their food. I wouldn't really recommend this property unless you have someone else driving you around. After doing more research, we realized there are wayyyy better properties, and this one is not worth the $200 a night.

We closed the door to bathroom and still could smell it. Fortunately we had busy days and only slept in the room. Shower towels are old and stale.
