We don't go back to our home state for months. AND they never sent the check. I had to call a few times and ask where it was. Eventually after 7 weeks, I did receive it. What a scam! They are counting on people not asking for the deposit or hoping they don't cash the check. We moved that they have a bar/restaurant on site but can't get past this crooked check scam. Also the bartender, Danielle has a filthy, filthy mouth, dropping the F bomb about 20 times per night and even other bad language. Not professional at all. Food and drink specials are good, I hate to say. But I have to call out the good stuff too.

The staff is super friendly and the permanent residents (a majority of the park) are some of the nicest people you could hope to meet. El Centro, itself, is nicer in the winter months but no matter when you go, Desert Trails is the best place to stay.

The owners obviously take pride in what they created and do enforce the rules and they tell you so on the web site. We were a group of 4 rigs and 5 jeeps. We had fires and dinner as a group every night outside. We dont get roudy, but we had the radio on, group fun while having a few beverages, playing cornhole and never has any issues about the noise we created. Pro's: Clean well maintained facilities and restrooms. Pool, jacuzzi, dog park Friendly staff Full hookups: 30 and 50 amp circuits Tree-lined spots 2 small stores and a place to grab a bite withing 2 min drive. Also the Iron door bar. Cons: No cell service at the campground, except for right next to the office where they have a coverage extender. No 20amp circut on the power pole

The two ladies who run the place give you attitude when asking simple questions. And theh switch up their prices which it's fair. I had called and asked the lady for monthly prices and she gave me a price, and when I went in the next day to finalize it and pay for it she upped the price by 35 bucks and decided to act like we had never spoken about it over the phone. Also they have a small sign when entering the park that says something along the lines of no loud music which was never enforced. Also they claim that wifi is included which sounds great but you cant even get one page to load. It takes waaay too long. I had to use my cell phone as a hotspot the whole time.

He didn't even ask for a paypal payment for the postage before, but I made sure to send it right when I got it.) Some have mentioned that the hot springs weren't hot. I normally like the temp really high, and the springs here do not disappoint. And if you want it even hotter, there is a hose right next to the springs that you can use to fill your tub with more hot water (it comes out very, very hot... you do have to wait 30-60 seconds though for the water to start coming out very hot). There are 6 individual hot spring tubs, and about 50 feet away there is a pool area with a jacuzzi. At night when I went, the water was hot (perfect temp). I also went in the morning, and the water was really warm, enough so that you can stay in for an hour or more comfortably. At night I would stay in for a few minutes, and get out to cool off, repeat, etc. I think they do that on purpose (cooler temps during the morning, maybe daytime) so you can enjoy them even though it's hot outside. I did use the hose in the morning to heat up the bath even more, and it worked well. People around were chill, seemed like everyone had good vibes, everyone was doing their own thing. They did have a BBQ on Saturday where everyone got together, they have food an everything, and everyone in the campground was invited - I didn't go as I had just got there, but next time I will for sure. Seemed like there are many longer term guests that all know each other, everyone we met was very kind and generous. Overall great experience.

So despite the angry manager and risk of cross contamination. Just in case, to prevent the staff from experiencing the moody managers rathe, next time, I'll just get the salad.
