While we liked Rio Bend RV, they pulled some BS with our deposit. **They take your deposit via credit card, then when you ASK for your deposit back, they issue an "F"ing check to your home address!!** What is this crap?! We don't go back to our home state for months. AND they never sent the check. I had to call a few times and ask where it was. Eventually after 7 weeks, I did receive it. What a scam! They are counting on people not asking for the deposit or hoping they don't cash the check. We moved that they have a bar/restaurant on site but can't get past this crooked check scam. Also the bartender, Danielle has a filthy, filthy mouth, dropping the F bomb about 20 times per night and even other bad language. Not professional at all. Food and drink specials are good, I hate to say. But I have to call out the good stuff too. read more

If you are just a weekend camper this s not the place for you. They kick out out of the pool rudely on Saturday at 12:30 for volleyball. Nothing is mentioned in the paperwork given and it's 100 outside. I was told it's a local thing. You can sit pool side while we play or come back tonight. And on Friday night it took over an hour for food. After a long drive to get here this is now how I want to spend my precious weekends. There are much friendlier places to say. read more

While not on everyone's beaten path, this resort in El Centro is an easy and fun stop on I-8. There are a limited number of RV sites, but the resort is clean and staff is great. In particular, kudos to the restaurant staff - the food was great and the waitresses super attentive. read more

Before you book your stay just know this, I booked 3 months last year in May 2024 for Jan., Feb., & March, and put a $500.00 deposit down. Due to personal reasons I had to cancel my stay. I notified them in Oct. 2024 (you need to cancel 2 months in advance) to cancel my reservation. They were to send me a refund of $400.00. After numerous emails and phone calls they still HAVE NOT SENT ME MY REFUND. This not a way to run a business! I have all the documentation and still no results! Hugely disappointing! My parents stayed there Oct through April for 30 years. Obviously they do not have the same manager. read more

While the park amenities are nice, there are issues with the front office. There are times when the phone is not answered and the voice mail is full. Depending on which staff member you talk to, you get a different answer, hook ups verses partial hookups and the site locations. The staff should know this. We had a large group camp and everyone was charged differently. The deposit policy is horrible!! It's suppose to be deducted when you pay, but long time coming, if ever, and a check in the mail. (Is this the way they make extra money?) The pool and bar area are nice, and the golf course is appreciated. read more

My husband is a military veteran injured and left in a wheelchair- we stay at this park because my jobsite is here. We have asked for the employees to not use the handicap bathroom when the bathroom stalls are empty because my husband CAN NOT use the other bathrooms. This is the third time this has happened so my husband timed the employee - 38 minutes in the stall and his reasoning was the handicap bathroom is bigger. The blatant disrespect to paying guests that they have zero control over their employees and don't care. 38 mins and another 10 mins leaning against the wall playing on his phone during work. Poor customer service and piss poor management - I could make a list of liability issues this park has. Do better and hire worthy employees before you end up getting sued. read more

Good- There's a lot here; golf, lakes, gardens, restaurants, basketball court, gym, horseshoes, and other things to do. The park itself is quiet. The lakes are noticeably full of fish. Fair- The RV spaces are a bit tight and the hookups though functional show some age such as leaking valves and sewer hookups that are buried. Needs attention- The lake by the RVs has noticeable trash such as a boot, bags all within arms reach. The dumpsters are left open. They have dog warnings but a good 90% have their dogs off leash and nothing is done. I've seen park employees petting the loose dogs. The gym requires masking but nobody wears one. read more

3 weeks with electricity issues not fixed in the rv park. Random power outages. Today the power has been out for almost 7hrs...it's 114F today. Bordering on negligence at this point. If we would have went out for even 3 hrs, our dogs would have died in the rv. Thankfully we were here to start the generator that we can run one a/c in our bedroom but even after 7 hrs it's 90 in the room and over 100 in the rest of the rv. Rio Bend RV and Golf Resort this is beyond acceptable for a park that is a 55 years old and over. A lot of the older people don't have generators. Their solution, everyone pile in the laundry room, it has power. Ridiculous! *FYI this is the rv parks issue that they have known about for at least 3 weeks. I have been going here for years as well!! Tina at the front office has always been rude and has had a bad attitude! She has been especially nasty this year! I've heard from a lot of people how bad it has gotten there!! This new manager, Karen, is terrible! My husband and I will no longer spend our winters there. In fact, we will never stay at a West Wind Enterprise property again! We've talked to a lot of our friends, and they are all saying the same thing. They will never go back! Terrible management! A great place to spend the winter or just a few weeks. Lots of activities to do, great music almost nightly and food specials with fish fries on Friday nights and Steak on Saturdays. A lovely heated outside pool and a fully equipped gym. This is a gated community so you feel secure. Weather is lovely. Lots of friendly people and paved roads ideal for biking, walking, etc. a dog park for your fur babies. Everything you need for a great winter plus. Recommend highly to anyone looking for a great place to park and enjoy. There is a 9 hole golf course. It's a nice course but a little pricey. read more

New info- We stayed a year now so thought I would add how it's been. I thought this place was nice before but it's been better than we expected. The people are so nice and there are so many fun activities like the Halloween party, as well as the daily exercise and games. The management is great and supports the activities and participates. They have been wonderful to work with and are working to continue to improve the park. They have tons of activities-too many to even list here so the photo of the flyer. Entertainment is both at the park level and groups that come in to do shows. So there is always something to do. Having a beautiful golf course is also a huge plus. The park grounds, pool and other areas are very clean and in great shape. Probably my favorite part is the serene view over a valley with woods and a river running through it. Seeing the Blue Angels & others practicing for their show in March is like a daily show. I'm really enjoying the activities. I do Water Aerobics, Zumba, Yoga and Spanish lessons. There is always something to do and fun people to meet. We are even starting to play golf! Summer has been super hot but bearable with air conditioning. The electricity here is good-better than other parks we've been in and reliable. October is nice-even though it gets warm during the day, it gets cool at night-and it is so quiet at night it makes it enjoyable to sit out and then get a great night sleep! I love driving past the green fields growing produce locally. Winter is cold (California cold so we still go swimming in the heated outdoor pool) and great for golfing. There are bugs, as another reviewer mentioned, but there usually are in areas where there are lakes and vegetation. We've been at many RV parks around the west and 3 or 4 in the Palm Springs & nearby area and this has all the good things of all of them combined. The music at night is really good and it's fun to visit with others. I've never been anywhere with this much to do. It has lots of activities and still it's quiet and peaceful. And the price is hard to beat! Rio Bend is close enough to drive to San Diego but out far enough to be reasonable price. We have enjoyed staying here very much! read more

This course has a special place in my heart because it's the first course that introduced me to the sport of golf. The course is well kept and the greens are great! It's never too busy to walk in but I still call to make a T-time. Good food and cheap drinks, can't beat it! read more

I called the RV park to ask if they allow truck campers and they do not. This is not listed on their website nor is it listed on Passport America's description. They are allowed to do what they want, but I believe this is discrimination. Our truck camper is really nice and there is no reason to ban an entire class of RVs. read more

It's a good course just don't expect good customer service. The lady up front whom very proudly ALWAYS introduces herself as the office manager is extremely rude, no customer service. She's been know to yell at customers. I witnessed when she yelled at a pair of veterans, there is no reason for this behavior. She must be the owner. read more

Very nicely maintained RV Resort and about 7 miles from all the shopping you need in ElCentro including Walmart and Costco. They have a nice snack bar and the fish fry on Friday in the restaurant is also good. read more

This place used to be great! We would bring the kids down and they would have a blast. But now not so much. All of the staff seems to be rude all the way from the moment we arrived. You can't do this you can't do that. We felt like outsiders for the whole park. The pool was closed for a fashion show, They brought in a giant pumper truck to pump out the septic tanks during the day. The guys mowing the lawn's used to leave blowers and blew dirt all over everybody's coaches For about an hour and a half. I was cleaning the bugs off the front of my windshield and motorhome and they told me I'm not allowed to wash it. Just not a friendly park anymore read more

Do not give this place your business. Nowhere on the company website does it state that their campground is 55+ only and No such policies on the matter seem to be available to see on paper. My husband is an electrician working on a substation nearby (doing essential work to literally supply electric to facilities such as Rio Bend). He needs to stay near the job site during the week ONLY. Initially he was going to book weekly but the reception suggested he book for the month. After 4 nights at the campground the receptionist gave some story about being "over 20% capacity" for seniors and it's a 55 and up facility only, they "could do a couple nights but nothing long term" and "we can let you stay 1 more night then you need to leave." My husband is gone all day and goes to bed at 7pm, bothers NO ONE. The place is LITERALLY dead because of COVID and half the mobile homes are for sale or not occupied. Maybe 6 of 25 campsites full. He spent money at the restaurant and over tipped their servers, and used none of the facilities. You would think they would be HAPPY to support paying and local essential workers but due to blatant age discrimination they will not. read more

Stay away from this place. I'm in my late 20's and the security guard turned my wife and I away because a resident in a Turquoise/Green Dodge Charger complained that we were "too young". Nowhere on their business website does it state that there is a minimum age limit so it all comes down to age discrimination. I'll take my RV and my money elsewhere. read more

There was a time this was a destination RV resort my family and friends used to look forward to visiting. We would plan week long vacations at this property and made sure our friends with tents and RV's knew about it. We did this for many years. Especially for the Blue Angels airshows two miles away at the Naval Air Facility. The park management and staff all knew us by name. We met snowbirds from all over the U.S. and Canada. A fun executive golf course is right on the property. We used to think this was a great, family focused resort. Then the local family sold the property to a corporate concern out of San Jose, Ca. They invested heavily in the property. Added lots of spaces and expanded the capacity. Turned out very nice, very beautiful. It was the change in park staff and management that turned it all sideways. Our family and friends noticed it too. It seems that the company that took over the resort put a staff in place that lacked in the ability to provide any shred of customer service. In a few visits after the park was sold, we experienced a staff that was short, curt and lacking in any skills associated with dealing with RV folks. An attitude best suited for the $50.00 a night motels on Imperial Ave. For the uninitiated, your typical RV'ers are a friendly, easy to talk to sort of people. RV'ing brings out a neighborly type of vibe when you are hundreds of miles from home in a nice park with blue skies and warm weather. After the existing staff was let go, the new staff did not seem to subscribe to this frame of mind. If you are just stopping for the night, Rio Bend is a safe and secure location. Other than that, if you want to stay any length of time in the Imperial Valley, Sunbeam Lake RV Resort is right down the street. Stayed here for the month of May and enjoyed every minute! Wonderful, helpful and friendly staff and a great facility. The golf course was in great condition and is a challenging 9 hole adventure!! Great cactus garden on the grounds too but my favorite part of our stay was the Aqua Logix (I might have spelled this wrong) class taught by Irene. Great class, great workout, fun, knowledgable instructor and wonderful friends that I met! The pool was my happy place! And it was off season! We will be back! read more

Rio Bend has a Friday night fish dinner and many nights they have a band & dances that people come from all around the area to enjoy this great time & meal. The "work campers" are the people that make this happen and especially Julia....she's a great cook. They have morning exercise classes (water aerobics) in the pool and "pickle ball courts" in addition to the beautiful golf course. The golf course restaurant has a beautiful view and really good food. During "the season" there are many Canadians and other cold winter climate people at the park that are really FUN & FRIENDLY people to meet. The park has a clubhouse that has a library, card room, two pool tables and a nice living room with TV for friends to gather. It's a Five star resort, just ask those that have been there in the last few years and you will agree. I hope YELP can post the positive reviews, because the one by "w.n" is in 2008 and is no longer valid in my opinion. RIO BEND is EXCELLENT. read more

So we looked around for places in the Imperial Valley, to park an live there... We went to RIO BEND RV AND GOLF RESORT, as soon as we got there we loved it... We were greeted at the office by CYNTHIA she is awesome....this place has it all pool, Jacuzzi, golf, restaurant, activity center, 2 lakes and friendly people....
