The issue was that the room was so old and outdated and the non bed furniture in the room was pretty gross which is why the low score. As I said, all customer service was nice, the only exception was when we asked for 3 extra pillows but were told no, we had enough and only given 1. That did irritate me but I brushed it off (this was a few hours after check In, after we got back to our room after a funeral). We got the suite which is not in the hotel and is actually in a building near the hotel. It is a spacious room but it is sooo worn out. Pillars were rotting and peeling, the rug was dirty and the couch and chair with an ottoman were so disgusting, I was genuinely grossed out and didn't touch them. Additionally, the toilet had a hard time flushing and after leaving some water running in the sink while brushing my teeth, it clogged up a little. Overall, I will not stay here again.

It was more reddish brown in real life than the picture shows and I only wish I got better photos. I was driving to Las Vegas from San Diego and wanted to stop in the Sand dunes and I was tired so figured I would book this hotel for the night. Literally within two hours of my stay I was in my bed and I noticed something crawling at the bottom and realized it was a bedbug. I had also noticed there were little black markings on the sheets, but I, never having known the red flags of bedbugs. I wrote it off as it just being a normal stain, which I found odd. Now looking back definitely a sign of bedbugs. There were also two spiders in the room. I immediately took out all of my stuff hoping there's no bedbugs being carried with me currently anyways after I return my key card, he offered to let me switch rooms, but I personally just not want to take the risk that the other rooms were infested as well. I used a booking site to make the reservation. I had requested an early reservation and that was granted. We, however, arrived later than I had expected. The young man who was in the lobby wasn't the friendliest, but he was efficient. My mom asked if he had a bathroom she could use . He told her no. But, he was able to get us our room key quickly, so I was able to get her into the room soon thereafter. The room was fine. The temperature was cool, when we went in, which I didn't expect. I thought it might be a little higher, to save money. Two queen beds, immaculate white bed coverings. Two pillows each. Flat screen TV mounted to the wall. A desk like area with a coffee maker and some coffee fixings. Cups for hot beverages, cold beverages and an ice bucket were on the table. There was a dresser under the TV. In the corner was a tall dorm style refrigerator and a microwave on top of that. The bathroom had a separate toilet and shower. The sink was outside of the toilet. There was a long counter, but only one sink. A metal frame on the wall had a few blankets on top of it and hangers underneath. Attached to the wall next to the frame was an ironing board. The iron worked fine. Laminate floors (more on that later). The door had a chain lock inside, which I appreciated, especially since our door opened to the parking lot. (Each room has a name. We were in the "butterfly" room.) Mattresses were comfortable, but the frames are on wheels. Careful when you sit down on them, as they shifted due to being on the laminate floors. The pillows offered little in the way of support. In the morning, I took a shower. There were these little squeeze bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. These were enough for one shower, for one person. This was a 2-person room. Both of us brought our own supplies, so we didn't have to fight for the little bottles. The shower has had one of those laminate overlays so that they look nice. If you touch any of the walls, you'll hear the creaks. The long interior shower wall had all these shelves in it, which is kinda cool, but the center section sticks out, so if you stand in the center of the shower, there is a little less room. Water pressure was fine. I walked back to the bed to get dressed. I went to put on my socks and the bottom of my feet were black. The floor was filthy, apparently. I was grossed out. There was an ice machine just a few feet from our door. It was working and had plenty of ice. (Sadly, so many hotels don't have many ice machines that operate correctly these days.) This place was a step up from a Motel 6. But, the dirtiness of the floors totally turned me off. Everything else in the room was spotless, though. Check out the Burger and I next door!

The room is dreary, smells of disinfectant. The room has a glass in wood frame door with venetian blinds. The lights outside pour through at night, the room never got dark. You could see in many of the rooms, and the workers had installed metal bunk beds so there were up to 8 people in this small room. A lot of the doors were open with Mariachi music pouring out. The bathroom had no glasses, and the shower didnt work. There was no plug for the tub, and the tub faucet had no lever to pull up to divert water up to the shower head. The room is painted a dingy white, no color anywhere. Avoid at all costs.

This protects the fidelity of the mineral water pools. When you first walk up, there is a check-in camper. When you go in, they'll give you the information that you need for your room and stay. We opted to rent one of the private homes because of our group being larger. It was about a 2 block walk away from the resort which wasn't bad at all. The town is very small and you can literally count how many businesses are here. It's pretty cool. It was a very nice visit and I highly recommend coming to this resort and hotel. The 2 mineral hot springs pools are nice. I recommend that you upgrade with a stay so that you have access to the secluded pool, which is really private and a level up. People get day passes, but that only works at the main pool. The main pool gets very, very crowded with day pass attendees. Again, I highly recommend upgrading with a stay so that you have access to the very very nice amenities. There is a restaurant, called Long Shadow, and I'll have a separate review for that. Overall, this was a wonderful and great trip.
