A slideshow of pictures was playing on the screen, while her favorite music was playing. Staff was incredibly accommodating. When there was a microphone issues, immediately, another was provided. As we ate, carafes were refilled and empty plates were removed. The food was good, especially for the size of the crowd. The bathroom was spotless. I didn't drink, but a few of the members of the members were able to get drinks. I appreciated some of the decor in the bar area. For an event as unfortunate as this, the venue went out of their way to make this a stress-free environment.

I like that the event had guest check in with security guards and I felt safe knowing there is security around for our safety and theirs. There was about 200 guest attended, the tables were spaced out perfectly for each guests so they will have plenty of room to move about. The place was beautifully decorated, from the seating to the walls, it was meticulously decorated. They really transformed this place on that special day. The dance floor was a great size for guests to get their boogie on. It was such a fun day. They have restrooms for use. There was plenty of stalls in the women area and long mirrors to check yourself out before you go out to the dance floor lol. They also have a bar area. The food was buffet style that day; the options were great and their food was delicious. We had steak, chicken, rice, scalloped potatoes, veggies and salad. The dessert table was wonderful. The staff that were helping the guests were friendly and polite. Overall, I highly recommend this venue.

So they have a specific staff here that they only use and you can't bring any other vendors in here because they're scared that they mess up the space. I see their reasoning by really? The hired staff really sucks. So here's the run-down on why their staff sucks: -Bartender: didn't know how to make an Adios. Really now? Probably the biggest party drink and you don't know how to make that? -DJ: didn't know how to mix music, screwed up the playlist for the ceremony which is embarrassing, he's also the announcer which is a shame because he was so boring and unenthusiastic about his job. -Caters/waiters: pretty freaking grumpy ass workers, were unpleasant throughout the whole night. They were stingy with the chicken and tri tip. They butchered the cake! That had to be their worst offense of the night. The chopped it up like fruit ninjas and made a big ass mess. I'm guessing this is probably the only decent venue in this area but really now? A backyard wedding sounds more appealing.

I try to stay within 1/2 of that budget but at the same time NOT compromise my health or safety. Places like this allow me to do this, The Desert Motel provided me with a firm bed, clean room, plenty of hot water, free WiFi, secure parking directly in front of my room and fresh towels daily. These rooms also have a mini fridge, microwave and direct tv on a flat screen television. On this particular stay I was working at night, so sleeping during the day was peaceful and quiet as well. I stayed 7 consecutive days with no issues, just quality rest and refreshing hot showers. I can't go without mentioning Janet the housekeeper, she was very thoughtful and friendly, making sure to catch me before or after going to work for fresh towels or housekeeping if needed. Let's keep it real, we get what we pay for. The price for my 7 day stay was very fair and I will continue to stay here in the future if we continue to work in this area. I have no reason to look elsewhere. During my stay I did not experience any bugs of any kind or shady behavior. I have attached a short video of my room.

Parking is right in front of the room. Fairly spacious bedroom, comfortable queen bed, flat screen tv which I did not watch, microwave, mini fridge, writing desk, chest of drawers, even an iron and mini ironing board.  Bedroom in front, bathroom in back so it is possible to have cross ventilation by opening up the bathroom & front room window to keep circulating fresh air that can dilute germ concentration if necessary during the Pandemic.  What I was definitely most impressed about the room is how CLEAN it was. The bathroom tile & ceramics sparkled. No signs of dark  mold stains anywhere.  From the outside, Desert Inn is a nondescript, mediocre motel, but my room was more than adequate. It's not the Ritz Carlton, but the price is right if sleeping there is all you need.  Some guests were longer term, out of town workers who were friendly and hanged out in front of their rooms after returning from their jobs. However, it was surprisingly quiet at night since many worked early the next day.      In a commercial area so Von's Supermarket is across the street. Great practical place for headquartering around the southern end of the Salton Sea vicinity and Imperial County down to the Mexican border. 4- stars
