Great spot We dropped in for late dinner on a Friday. I had just gotten into town so this was my first meal in town. This spot was chosen by my sister who comes in with my nephew all the time. It was on the late side when we got in, but they were fortunately still open. The kitchen closed as soon as we put our orders in. According to my nephew, the menu changed. The three of us shared the turco mix along with some sides. Their hummus is supreme and the pita bread was fresh to death when they served it. Like it was just taken out the oven. Every piece I had was perfectly warm. It was so good we ended up getting another order. Safe to say, we ate everything. All plates were cleared.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and every time I had a good experience. My last visit was on Saturday night and once I entered I was able to pick my seating. The place is bright and warm. Started off with fried calamari ($14) that came with some sort of Mayo based sauce and a thin lemon slice that is more of an esthetic plating then using to put on the calamari, it was alright. For my main I got the chicken kebab ($22) which was really solid. My friend got the chicken Adana ($22) which was also solid. If you're in the mood for really good Mediterranean food, I highly recommend this spot. * BYOB * Street parking * Good service * Service charge (3.89%) I believe for using credit card or for BYOB, not sure

Lovely restaurant with amazing food and generous portions! Family styled all of this between 2 people and had a good amount of leftovers to pack home. The meat was seasoned so perfectly and paired incredibly with all four of the dips we ordered. Highly recommend their cheese rolls; that sweet jam was sooo tasty and gave the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Awesome service as well!

As usual, absolutely delicious! This is one of my go-to places in Hackensack. Joseph will always take care of you and give you the best food! Did a to-go order today that came out perfect. -Chicken kebabs are so most and flavorful with nice grill flavor. -The rice is so fluffy and tasty! -I normally will not eat fries, but these are the best! You have to try some. -Zucchini pancake appetizer is wonderful! It's the first time I'm trying it. Nice moist texture and great veggie flavor. Big portions of delicious food - you can't go wrong here!

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. A hidden gem in Hackensack for a quick bite. On a trip back home, I was craving Turkish food. After a quick Yelp search, we landed on El Turco. Atmosphere: Quaint, quiet, and clean while we were there. As we came on a weeknight, the restaurant did not have a lot of patrons which was to our advantage. Service: Service was very good. Good recommendations and checked on often. The food came out as it was prepared which is preferred so that hot dishes are served right away. Food: Enjoyed everything we ate. Appetizers: - COBAN (SHEPHERD'S SALAD): Simple and well-seasoned and dressed. The salad a good mixture of all ingredients which completed each other well. - Lebni: I really missed lebni as it's one of my favorite appetizers of all time. The lebni was a nice portion with good flavor and hit the spot. - CHEESE ROLLS (SIGARA BOREGI): Another hit. Perfectly fried with the right amount of cheese and parsley mixture. Entree: We shared the chicken kebob and really enjoyed it. The chicken was cooked perfectly; moist with excellent flavor. The rice was equally as good. The dish came with additional, traditional sides like sliced beats and french fries. Everything was delicious and re-heated the next day. Overall, definitely recommend.

I really love this place. It's clean, staff is friendly and food is great. I always eat hummus & the grilled chicken platter. In this area, the price and portion are great. Mediterranean food always seems to be a bit pricey. Totally fine, but imo you really get your moneys worth here.

Ordered delivery with all of our Turkish favorites. Mixed grill platter, cigar borek, dips, and kazandibi for dessert. We also got a side salad, pita, fries and yogurt sauce (cacik?) which come with whatever we ordered. All of the meat on the mixed grill was tender and flavorful. There was plenty of rice on the bottom. The fries were also good and the side salad fresh with a little dressing on top. The dips included hummus, babaganoush, eggplant dip and a spicy paste (contains walnuts?). There were also 4 stuffed grape leaves inside. The pita was toasted and fresh, just wished there were more of it with the amount of dip you get. My favorite dips were the baba and eggplant. The spicy one had walnuts and I'm not a huge fan of those but the rest of the dip was good. Also loved the borek and kazandibi dessert which were both perfectly done. Prices were a little higher than other Turkish places we have tried but I know meat has gone up recently and I dont mind spending a little more for good quality food. Will definitely order here again. One of the top Turkish places in the area!

I had in my mind a superior dining experience in Israel, a similar schnitzel-in-pita storefront in Hod HaSharon. There, because it's Israel, every aspect was superior: fresh, crispy, assortment of salads, and super fast. I was hoping for something similar here. Orange and chrome mid-century modern decor. Simple menu. Good service. Clean. Super impressed at first glance. I got schnitzel in pita, spouse got same in laffa bread, daughter got schawarma in laffa. All delicious and fresh. Service was friendly. It took a few minutes to get our order and they were not particularly busy, luckily we were not in a rush. Once the food came, it was worth the short wait! Bottom line: it's not Hod HaSharon, but pretty darn good for Teaneck! Would definitely return here! The only negative is that parking seems to be an issue. We visited this restaurant at 12 noon on a Sunday and it was impossible to park. I don't know where the people in all these cars were shopping, I sure didn't see a high amount of foot traffic. I have a feeling people just parked and left their cars, maybe attending an event elsewhere. So if you visit: plan time to park and walk!

This place offers up fantastic Mediterranean fare and is run by some of the nicest people around. When they saw my husband eyeing a platter of an interesting dessert, they offered us both small spoonfuls to sample (I don't remember what it was called, but it was coconutty and delicious). I adored the falafel platter, which was a behemoth serving of 6 falafels, freshly made hummus, tabbouleh, and pita. The falafels were freshly fried and had a lovely sprinkle of sesame seeds. Coupled with a smooth smear of homemade hummus, my eyes were fluttering shut as I ate. My husband's side of the table went similarly silent as he dug voraciously into his mixed shawarma sandwich. He especially appreciated how they toasted the wrapper, which was more like a lavash than a pita. Before we left, we got a baba ghanoush to go. Our jaws dropped when we saw the serving size. We're so used to getting tiny containers from other spots that this giant aluminum platter of eggplant spread - complete with a little pool of fresh olive oil drizzle and stack of warmed pita - had us stilled with shock. We appreciated the sides and variety of sauces that came with our meal. The small cups of mayo, tzatziki, and spicy sauce, along with olives, pepperocinis, and pickled radishes, really helped complete our meal. These small and thoughtful touches made this meal feel more like eating in someone's home kitchen rather than a restaurant. On that note - know that everything is made from scratch and to order, which means the food will take a little longer than you might expect from a fast casual spot. This sweet gem is located on a random street in Hackensack, and a bit hard to find if you're not looking for it because there isn't much to draw attention to it. There's a small parking lot right in front of the restaurant, making it easy to drop in for a quick meal or to-go order.

Either find on the street nearby to walk or in the very tiny space in the front (to which good luck if you try to back out). However, that said the food more than makes up for it. Extremely fresh food made from scratch, you can tell the quality is there looking at the kitchen. This is also the only place to this day that I've found in the area that serves hot grape leaves, which are my favorite item on the menu, most mediterranean spots only make them cold. Their platters are also very filling and solid portion size. If you prefer to go lighter, there are also sandwich options with or without fries. Seating is very small, so takeout is their main business though you could certainly dine in if you'd like. Service has always been solid, the owner is very friendly! I'll keep coming back despite the tricky parking.

The menu is tantalizing and there's plenty of familiar favorites along with a few new-to-me items that the server readily described when I asked questions. This time, I tried the pargiot sandwich. I had no previous conception of 'pargiot' but another reviewer had sung praises about this wonderfully marinated chicken thigh meat. Having tried it, I'm not convinced it's blow-your-mind good, but it was decently flavorful and tender. You can customize the salad type that goes in your sandwich, and I chose the Israeli salad, a blend of tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. Mine felt a touch overstuffed since it was harder to taste the chicken and made my pita soggy quicker than I would have thought, but it's hard for me to ding points for generous servings. Our server checked in on us regularly and even thought to inquire about any sesame allergies before setting down the tahini dip that comes with the welcome platter of bread. As the restaurant got full and our visit came up against a reservation, I appreciated how respectfully he asked for the table. Speaking of reservations, it might be a good idea to make one for your visit, especially if you're thinking of coming for dinner. My friend and I came on a random Tuesday afternoon and this space completely filled up. There are also some outside tables available for possible spillover seating, but if your heart is set on coming here, call ahead. Parking in Englewood is always tough, especially come mealtimes because there are so many restaurants here. Make sure you come laden with quarters for the older parking meters or have the ParkMobile app ready for the spots that allow mobile payment.
