Yesterday 6/27, my husband and I had a rather disappointing lunch experience at El Toro Loco. I ordered one grilled fish taco and one chicken taco. My husband had one grilled fish taco and two chicken tacos. Each taco came with two tortillas. However, each taco barely had any protein to fill even half a tortilla. Other than the protein, there was just salsa. That's it. In addition, the courtesy chips tasted stale. We are local Pacificans for over 20 years. We try to support our local restaurants here. El Toro Loco is a reminder to us not to eat out as often anymore, because restaurants charge more these days but give a lot less food. Poor value and food quality at El Toro Loco. read more

Came here early on a Saturday evening and were warmly welcomed. Service was efficient and friendly, and the food was outstanding -- far beyond expectations for such a modest looking restaurant. I had the Arroz con Mariscos, and it was spectacular and beautifully presented. My husband had the Lomo Saltado, which was also excellent. All for a reasonable price. We live in the North Bay but will definitely return to this place next time we are down in the Pacifica area. read more

The food was excellent! First time there, we were a party of 5 and we had excellent service and the food for all of us was perfect. Our server made sure we had a great time and took very good care of us. So much fun, they had two gentlemen playing music and it was fun. My nephew plays the piano and they even let him play. My peruvian husband and I are always trying different peruvian places. Sadly, this has been one of the worst. Service was good and atmosphere was nice but food was lacking. We ordered ceviche pescado, lomo saltado, and tallarín con carne. Every item was lacking flavor, we have never had to add salt to peruvian food before, this was first time. Sorry but i taste salt more than the food. Skewered grilled heart. Fried yucca with the spicy green sauce. The tomato chicken with rice. The shrimp soup had lots of cream. We were watching soccer then these gringos come in and sat at the counter and ordered wine and changed the channel. They were very loud like they took over this place as their bar. Parking in front. The server was great and funny and happy as can be. He was the cashier, waiter, busperson, used our leftover water to water the plant outside, greeter, order taker, and just was so nice. read more

Last minute cancellation of plans lead us to this GEM. Walked in on a Friday night to a two piece band. Great Selection of Peruvian and Mexican food. Meat and shellfish in abundance. Some had simple burritos, tacos and nachos, which were Very Tasty. Others had Steaks with salad and Shrimp dishes. All were wonderfully flavored. Service was friendly and quick. Lunchtime and I was just driving by. I never noticed this little place before but when I saw it I thought that ceviche sure did sounds good. stopped and went in. The guys working there were very friendly and helpful. Even though ceviche wasn't on the main menu it was on the specials menu. I ordered it to go and took it down by the water. Oh my gosh I'm so glad I stopped here! Absolutely delicious! Perfect serving size came with all the toppings Peruvian ceviche should have. This is our go to place in Pacifica. The food is consistently good and the service is super friendly. We love the shrimp or fish in ajillo or Diablo sauce. The lomo saltado is also a favorite, especially with the ribeye upgrade; and chicharron de pescado (fresh fried fish bits) with dipping sauce is a great starter. Wash it all down with their refreshing sangria or a tap beer. Icing on the cake is live jazz by Jay and Jorge on Friday and Saturday evenings. read more

Came here for burritos after a hike. There is no indoor dining because of Covid but they have take out. I chose the super Acapulco burrito without meat. The veggie burrito had broccoli and carrots and I hate random added vegetables in burritos. The burrito I got had rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. Simple but tasty and kept me full for hours. The person who took our order and brought out our food was very friendly and nice. The Peruvian food here is incredibly good and colorfully presented. It's off the beaten path but right off of Hwy 1 with parking (small lot and nearby streets). Service was friendly and efficient. The Pollo En Salso Espanola was especially good! Ceviche Pescado was wonderful! Unpretentious but homey feel here. Highly recommended. read more

Gotta say, not much from the outside... but the food is great!! Easy parking, right off the cutest little street in Pacifica to walk around, buy a plant, get a locally baked cookie, or shop antiques. We had a huge plate of fried fish, calamari, shrimp and yucca. The yucca was a little under-fried and not as crispy as we normally like, but everything else was great. Two sauces to pick from and a super pretty plate it came on! The garlic butter shrimp was also fantastic. It was very pricy for the dish though.. $19 for 6 regular sized shrimp, a large scoop of rice and salad. It was a good salad though! Although I say it's pricey, I would also probably order it again because the garlic butter sauce was amazing!! Soo tasty! Coke comes in glass bottles which is a fave of my husbands. My friends and i came here on a Sunday around 3 and there were not packed. So if you go to their old address they have a sign that says they have moved one block and a half away. The menu is a mix of Mexican and Peruvian. I really wanted to try the seafood sampler and he the rice. But i then open for the rice that started with arroz. Which was not bad. But im use to food more Spicer's so, what ever was left over i had added chili flakes to it. I added about 4 packs. My friend for the cheviche which had corn nuts, peppers, seaweed, onions and other stuff. It had flavor but looked tok watery for me. They have fresh chips and sals made. And the chips were delicious since it didn't have much salt like most places i have tried. They have a parking garage right in front and a pretty decent amount of seating. I will probably come back another time to try their seafood sampler. read more

We are planning on buying a 2nd home in Pacific and wanted to explore some of the restaurants that were walking distance from where we want to buy. We were so excited so see a sign for a Peruvian food, unfortunately this place completely disappointed us! The food was bland, no flavor what so ever! I place the order over the phone and requested for no onions if possible and they told me that would be no issue at all, I was surprised when I open my container with my plate full of onions! They also did a horrible job packing the order, all the juice from the food had leaked into the plastic bag it is, instead of asking me if they could fix it for me or give me another container I asked them for an extra bag, I don't think they even noticed! But the main reason we will not be coming back is the crazy price! We paid $37 for 1 plate of Lomo Saltado! One plate!! I could get better food and customer services and pay 2 times less than what we did at any other Peruvian restaurant! Don't go there! Over priced and no flavor! read more

Was excited to give this spot a try during a day trip in Pacifica. "Coastal Peruvian food" sounded legit, and it had great reviews on Yelp. Ordered the Camarones al ajillo, paid $20 + tax/tip, and was disappointed to find a mound of rice with just 6 shrimp (not pictured: some sprigs of salad mix). What a letdown. Ended up getting a $4 shrimp taco around the corner that was much more satisfying (and had as many shrimp!). read more

Hands down the best carne asada in the area, one bite and the savory flavors made me remember my last trip in Mexico which was over 10 years ago. The food is fresh, bursting in authentic flavors that truly blew me away. I swear their tortillas are handmade because the Mujado Burrito tortillas cut like butter. The sauce on top was balanced perfectly too. We also had their top dish Lomo Saltado and truly understand why it is their top dish. Quick recommendation: if you're looking for good Mexican food this is a great spot to stop at. Just be weary that if you come during rush hour, things may be a little slow. Stopped in here for lunch today because I was craving a burrito, so that's exactly what I ordered. The food here is incredible, the burrito is exactly what I needed and the taste was on point. The chips and salsa were also great. I also added a glass coke which really completed this delicious meal. The only thing that made me give it 4 stars instead of 5 was the service. There were only two waiters (with managers occasionally helping) in the entire place and you can tell they were overwhelmed, water was never refilled and I almost felt bad for asking for anything because I could see how it crazy it was during peak hours. The Crazy Bull. That's what it translates to from Spanish to English. This Bull went here for a lunch date with the wifey at the recommendation of our South Bay CM, Abby S. Hey, any establishment with the name Bull or Toro is good in my book. Have you ever had a wonderful experience that you couldn't wait to Yelp about it? Well...this was one of them. Came here on a date lunch with the Wifey as it was only a short drive from her work. The place opens at noon and it was perfect timing for us. We were the first one there so the place wasn't too crowded yet. Grabbed a seat by the window and the owner/server handed us the menu. Then came a wonderful surprise that made us both smile. The owner's/server's daughter greeted us with a plate of chips and salsa. She was maybe about 8 or 9 years old with two front teeth missing, but she was the cutest and sweetest thing. This girl was amazing as we watched her work the other tables and she always had the smile on her face and she was on point. This is by far the best server we've ever seen and she beats out all the professional restaurant servers out there. I hope dad is paying her good money. Oh, the salsa that came with the chips was the bomb. It was fresh and tasty, and I couldn't get enough of it. Yes, I ended up getting seconds. This is probably the best salsa I've ever tasted and it's comparable (if not better) than Papalote's. Menu consists of Peruvian and Mexican dishes. They also have a Lunch Special so be sure to check that out. For starters, we had the Pescado Chicharrones. It was Sole Fish that is lightly coated and fried. The texture was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. They should call them Poppers instead of Chicharrones because I was popping them in my mouth left and right. Wifey ordered the Combo Fajita Platter the comes with a protein power of Prawns, Fish, Steak and Chicken. It also comes with Rice, Beans, Salsa, Salad, Guacamole topped with Cream. Man, this platter was effin huge. I mean EFFIN HUGE enough to feed an Ethiopian Army. I ordered the Mojado Burrito with steak for protein. It's basically a giant burrito with melted cheese on top and drenched in wonderful sauce. This, too, was EFFIN BIG that I couldn't finish the whole thing. Yes, I'm a big eater and I was stuffed. The little girl made sure she checked on us and even the server/owner as well as the cook even paid us a visit to make sure that we were enjoying ourselves; which we were. I mentioned the salsa to the cook and asked me if I tried the spicy one. I told him no, so he brought me a packet to take home and try. Wow, I was very impressed. Since Wifey had to return to work, she didn't order any alcohol and wanted to try the Sangria next time. We'll be sure to make that happen since a return visit will be coming shortly to try their other dishes. And to think this place was in our backyard this whole time and always passed it by.
