Use delivery. The no contact pick-up is not well organized or efficient. No one answers the phone if you are lucky enough to get one of the three curbside pick up spots. The specials they are running are great but take advantage of the free delivery and stay away from the long pick up lines! read more

I am so happy my husband decided to eat here. El Torito has never been the restaurant my husband wanted to go to, but after today; we will be back, and that's all because of the great customer service we received from Melissa it was amazing. We thought she was a seasoned waitress; and she's not. she is a keeper. The sky is the limit for this young lady. This is the El Torito in the Riverside Plaza in Riverside ca. 10/09/19 Food was good too. read more

It is always a MISS with this place. My friend and I used to come almost every TACO TUESDAY for months, and stopped coming because of the service. We went before the crowds would start- and the service was always sub par. Pushy, and rushed. Today my employee and I went for lunch, stood there for about 4 minutes before the hostess came from the back (mind you, two servers and the bartender saw us and offered no greeting) and you could smell the bleach (?) as soon as you walked into the restaurant. In hopes that it was only in the bar area, we opted to sit in the main restaurant, the smell was SO strong (dirty rags to clean table, bleach?) that I felt like I was going to throw up throughout the entire visit. Finally, after no being able to stand the smell any longer, we got up and went to the front of the restaurant to leave as quickly as possible, I told our server that the smell was AWFUL and made us sick, her offered no apologies, comments, empathy--all her offered was the bill. We will not be returning. read more

I stopped by to make an order to go. The hostess said it would take 10 to 15 minutes to prepare. I told her I would wait outside. 30 minutes later, the order still isn't ready. I asked what was going on. They said they are still preparing my food. It was 2 orders of guacamole. I was shocked. 40 minutes into this and they come out of the kitchen empty handed.....and I demanded my money back. 10 more minutes I'm about to make a scene. The manager and staff at this El Torito could not figure out how to make 2 orders of guacamole. Incompetent work ethic. It's a top down problem - manager is worse than the crew. read more

I was trying to give this place another chance after a few months ago I had a horrible incident where a manager, Hispanic woman with dark curly hair and glasses) snapped at me in front of several customers for having my crutches leaning against the booth. Rather than asking me politely if she could take my crutches up front for me she scolded me for what a hazard it was. Well today, on 1/27/18 at about 1:30pm we came here and it was one of the worst experiences I have had. Our visit started with them being out of Coke Zero... which ok fine. Then as I sat and waited we watched 5 different parties being seated. The hostess was incredibly rude, most of these people were elderly and she walked way ahead of them, placed the menus on the table and walked away without waiting for them to catch up or saying "your server will be with you." Once my food came I found a long black hair intertwined in my salad. I asked for guacamole instead because I didn't want to run the risk of them just pulling it out and sending me the same thing. I was charged for the guacamole since it was something else, but on their part they shouldn't have charged foAs a couple was leaving a woman approached me and asked what was wrong with my food and commented on how horrible her food was, but didn't want to complain because she was fearful of getting something in her food. Our server was polite, but I will not be coming back again. Manager wrote back on here to give my contact information to save face to the public to make it seem like they care about reviews. I gave my information, but no one ever reached out to me. read more

Had brunch here today, the food was great and the service was great. Our server was Myriam, she was friendly and very attentive!

I hate that I have to give one star, because their managers don't give two s#$ts! I came in today to enjoy a late lunch with my mother and daughter. We went toEl Torito at the Riverside Plaza and were extremely disappointed with the experience. There was no Hostess when we walked in but there was a gentleman who obviously works in the kitchen who promptly greeted us and sat us at a table. I did notice that the scene in the restaurant seemed quite chaotic. As we were being led to our table, off to the left side of the hostess stand is a somewhat open area with three large booths, two were occupied by two women and multiple young girls approximately ages 8 to 10 who were wildly flinging each other around in circles spinning until they were dizzy and falling on the floor. That was the scene that I was led past on our way to the table. Once seated it was hard to not notice the chaos going on so close to us and as I looked up I saw two young girls standing on top of one of the tables and jumping up and down. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life of going out to eat at restaurants or the 20 plus years that I spent as a server slash bartender in the restaurant industry. My main question is where in the hell is the damn manager? I called a few hours later to complain before I decided to write this review give to give them a fair chance to explain why this restaurant would be so chaotic and no one is paying attention to the fact that there are children jumping on the top of the tables where people eat their food. Now let me mention that it is no surprise that it took 20 rings to get someone to answer that phone. Can you say Staffing problem? I spoke with noCesar who is the manager this evening, he informed me that he was not there this afternoon and that it was a woman I believe named Lorraine possibly. I'm sorry Lorraine but you're not managing anything. Then he advised me to call back and speak to the general manager I asked for the general manager's name, he paused and said it's Hugo. It's actually not Hugo his name is Hector. So your managers don't know the name of the manager who is managing them... how ironic. And then I was offered some free food to come back and give them a second chance. I'm sorry, but if your managers allow that kind of chaos to happen in the front of the house, where all of your customers can see, then I'm scared of what happens in the back of the house where none of us can see. You couldn't pay me to eat there. El Torito get your Flippin act together, you should be ashamed, send your managers back to school for more training. And how about this for a novel idea, give half as shit! Update: Hugo the manager msgd me to apologize and he asked for my contact information. I have no way to leave that information for him to contact me without everyone else being able to see it so I don't know where that's going to get us. I did reread my review and I realized that I forgot to mention that my daughter and my mom and I got up and walked out. We did not eat there. We did not spend our money there. And we don't ever want to go back there. read more

Atmosphere: I'll be honest for the get go. I'm not crazy about chain restaurants. I eat at them a lot, because when I go out to eat, I normally go in groups of people where some only will eat at chain restaurants. I went to this restaurant for happy hour on a Friday afternoon, and it was full. We sat outside, and although there were no ashtrays, there were several people smoking. Service: More often than not, we've had great service here. On this particular visit, although our server was handling several large tables in addition to our four top, he did an excellent job of making sure that we had everything that we needed. He brought our drinks and food quickly. Food: The food here is average for me. I like a little more flavor to my Mexican dishes. We had chicken nachos and queso con chorizo with chips while we drank margaritas and wine this visit. read more

Lolli was the best!!! When our party of 24 showed up it seemed that every server in the restaurant was very un happy we were there. We called ahead and made a reservation that they double booked. Then they found out we were separate checks per couple, and that made us very unpopular...We felt bad, and told them we would sit were ever it would be best for them...Then this bright and shines girl named Lilli came out with a plan...She gladly took our separate orders, got our food out quick and served pretty close together, our drinks were filled our table was pre bussed, and she was friendly on top...Love this girl!!! She made my Dads Birthday feel so special!!! We will ask for her by name from now on!!! read more
