This place was horrible. I made a reservation and still had to wait 15 minutes for my table. So why have reservations? The food was terrible. Their ranchera sauce tasted like canned tomato paste and the beef inside my burrito had the consistency of something fake. We saw our waitress twice, when she took our order and when she brought the check. I cannot believe anyone who has ever had Mexican food would give this place more than two stars. The chips and salsa were passable. Will never go back and would never recommend this place to anyone! read more

We had a great family time here, its a good place for big groups and the view of the ocean is relaxing and peaceful . They have a family plater edition defo ask for it . Enough for 5 ppl. you can almost try everything on the menu on this plater. Try the margaritas too. Its huge!! Ill put a picture of it for you. No way you can finish it alone! read more

The server was nice and pleasant. We sat by the window and enjoyed the view. However, we were very disappointed with the food. I would not recommend having the salmon and meatball soup. The food tasty very bland. In my opinion, I would rate the overall food experience as being well below average. read more

we got there an hr and a half before closing. they said they couldn't take anyone anymore so they suggested we just go to the bar. once at the bar i ordered a flight mule and all of them tasted like syrup. i asked the bartender what he put in the drinks and i said it didn't taste like anything but syrup. he recommended i get another shot so i did but it still didn't take the sweet flavor away. i ended up drinking only one and left 3. idk if they didn't a bad job because they wanted to go home or if this is really how they make their drinks. either way, i wouldn't come back. read more

Absolute worst service I have ever received. Never received waters for our table, although I asked multiple times. It took three times asking our incompetent server to get hot sauce. I could understand if the place was busy, but it was completely empty and the server was talking to his Co-workers the whole entire time, while neglecting us. The guy that served us doesn't deserve a job in the service industry. Inexcusable. read more

Arrived on Saturday at 4pm with a party of 6. Seated by female host that looked miserable and gave slight attitude. After staring down all the wait staff passing by our table, it took 20 minutes until the manager himself arrived to ask for our drink order. There was no apology for the wait. Once drinks arrived, they brought our 2 alcoholic drinks wrong, and forgot the rest of the drinks. They corrected the alcoholic drink but never rang the rest of our drinks. Our waiter took our food order right after, so I assumed he would bring our drinks right after that. It took another 15 minutes before I had to ask a busboy for the rest of our drinks because the waiter was nowhere to be found. After this the waiter realized we were unhappy and tried to give us better service until we left. I hate to sound like I was expecting El Torito to comp me a beverage or food item, but upon making an error this severe many many other restaurants will go out of their way to make it right. I am mainly writing this review to get the restaurants attention because the rest of the wait staff looked miserable. It was rare that I saw a waiter smile, even while serving a table. The manager was on staff, however, it didn't seem to make much of a difference. This restaurant benefits from a beautiful beautiful view of the ocean, and it pains me to say I will not be coming back, nor recommending any one else come either. *Corporate has since contacted me and gave me meal coupons. read more

Our server was really really nice so I can't complain about that. The food was kinda gross. It looks nothing like how it's presented on the menu and reminds me of Applebees lol. The drinks were eh. I couldn't taste any alcohol in the strawberry pina colada. ‍. Our server, as mentioned, was really nice but they looked understaffed. read more

This place had horrible service... never have i had worst service in my life We ordered food for our kids and a large 4 person fajita platter and a few margaritas. We had to ask twice for chips. Once they arrived they were stale and some were soggy. What made it worse they seem to forgotten to give us any of our drinks. The kids food came in an ok time frame . The fajitas arrived 30 min later and we were so hungry and so excited only to be disappointed to see that they never brought us plates or tortillas to eat them with. We also realized that the fajita platter that we got was not the family platter which we ordered. We were so upset. Instead of just leaving the platter and ordering an additional one ,the waitress took our food away and left us with nothing as our kids ate their kids meals. Rather than apologizing our waitress said she would put in our new order in . Fast forward 45 minutes later... Our kids never got there dessert that came with their meal and we never got our fajitas as we had to leave due to extremely frustrated children two hours later. What's so sad is that we live right next to the Redondo Beach pier and I would've never expected service to be so bad from one of my favorite restaurants. read more

All around great experience. Made a reservation days prior, for a window seat on a Saturday evening. Got there and was seated immediately. Server was super nice and made sure we were well taken care of. I think her name was Tiffany. Had a Cadillac margarita and the shrimp enchiladas. Both were excellent. I'd definitely come back again read more

Unless you have a lot of patience and time, I would not recommend coming here. The service is slow and inattentive. In addition, the waiter gave us a bill that was completely different from what we ordered. Then, we reminded him of what we ordered. He still over charged us for the lunch special choosing 1 item. The manager adjusted the bill by $3, but we were still over charged since it was taken off the regular price instead of the lunch special. He offered to adjust the bill again, but by now we were over 2 hrs at this restaurant when we were hoping to be out of there in 1 hr. It was near impossible to find and get our waiter's attention. All in all, it was a very frustrating experience, and greatly delayed our plans for the day. Time lost that we can't get back. read more

I have to battle on giving them 2 or 3 stars... the last experience was not the best. I have been here many times and it's consistently average. The food is mediocre at best and the service is spotty. They have a good happy hour which is only reason I would really go back. The view is spectacular too. We came in this time 3 adults and 5 kids and were waiting 20 mins until realized hostess completely forgot about us. We were seated and waited another 10 mins for waitress. Got kids ordered in but had to wait another 20 mins for water since they kept forgetting. Once we ordered food came quickly but took forever to order. Guacamole was really good but all else was just average. Bill was over $140 with 5 of our party ordering $6.99 kids meal. Not worth it! read more

Very disappointed I'm not the type to leave reviews but today we came in today for Mother's Day brunch & the food was ridiculously horrible. Buffet style was disgusting food was stale, cold, and raw. We paid for food that got my whole family sick the moment we got home. Never again. read more

This place was so disgusting it wasn't even funny. I don't think I've ever had anything like this before. Our appetizer platter was not edible. The wings were burnt and when there food came out it got worst! What a shame since it's right by the sea and you'd expect to have at least good sea food no! We were better off going to Taco Bell! From my aunt: I was at the bar and there was a couple sitting there and the bartender skipped me, went right to them, and they had their drink's and chips and salsa in 3mins. I waited almost 10mins and the bartender never came to get my order so a different bartender lady was at the right of ne counting the money so I had to interrupt her and let her know no one came and got my order. Well that original bartender came back, typed up my bill, and put it in front of me. Never said a word to me or anything to me. The whole time I was there, he never acknowledged me, but then proceeded to ask the couple next to me how they were doing. He asked them if they need anything else, but never gave them a bill and never did he ask me if I needed anything This is unacceptable. .y aunt was made to feel unseen and disregarded as a person and stilllllllllll spent money in this establishment. ******UPDATE****** Many thanks to the manager for reaching out to my aunt to address this concern. read more

Came by a couple of nights ago and had some delicious enchiladas while my partner ordered the chili relleno and tamale combo. The food and drinks were on point, even down to the chips and salsa. We were sat at the bar and the bartenders seemed a little bit weeded so the service was patchy here and there, but all went well nonetheless! A newer hostess, Juliette, was actually super sweet and had a really welcoming and friendly presence - from taking our names on the wait, to showing us appreciation for informing her that we'd found seating at the bar and could be taken off the wait, and even to her explaining that the restroom needed to be closed off momentarily - she was awesome! I work in the food industry and approachable and friendly attitudes from staff all around the house is critical. Props to her! read more

Love this location. Awesome views if sitting by the window. Great place for a date. Make sure and make reservations for a window seat. I used to come here all the time pre-covid. My favorite thing, that I would always get, was their steak fajita salad. I loved how big the portion was and the steak would come out mixed with all sorts of healthy vegetables. I missed my favorite salad so I ordered it to go and am INCREDIBLY disappointed. I will not go here again. The steak fajita salad is expensive, it's $18. I always get it because I love it. But I just paid $18 for steak on top of a few leaves and cheese. There are no peppers or onions or other seasonal veggies mixed in, and the portion is tiny. There almost isn't even any salad. DO NOT order takeout food. I sure won't. read more

Good food but nothing special. We had a window seat but it was nighttime so though we can see the waves it was very dark. Not the restaurants fault. This place needs a make-over badly, very drab and no decorations at all. Our waiter was very nice, I was astonished to see they had so many workers since it was a weekday and not at all crowded. So... 1)hostess, 2)guy that brings the chips, 3) waiter, 4) guy that brings your food, 5) girl who just went around to the tables fixing the little advertising tents on the tables, she wore a chefs outfit. Also this place charges a service fee, can't remember what they call it but it was 3% of the bill. Who gets that, the restaurant or the wait staff. read more

The reason why I am posting this review is because of SARA! Checked in right before 10pm and I'd just thought I would ask, "Would it be possible if we can be seated by the window?" Right away she gave us an attitude! She replied so rudely "Do you seriously want to wait?? WE CLOSE AT 11!" We were both like whaaaat the heck and then she continued to say "well I can make a note" and we were like okay?? Then we walked away really upset and angry knowing she just messed up our mood! Like why couldn't she just say yes okay or something in that manner like why did she have to come off really unprofessional! Then when we get a text to go check in SARA was gone! So some other lady sat us down first and she told the couple that were next that their table was getting cleaned. So guess where we end up sitting? Somewhere in the middle where we did not want to sit! At this time my wife looked back and the couple behind us got the perfect table! In the corner but the window! So I went to go see if I can speak with the manager and luckily he helped us switch tables and special thanks to Jesus for serving us. Making great recommendations! It was really because of Jesus and the Manager that saved the night! Enjoyed every dollar spent SOMEONE NEEDS TO GO TELL SARA THAT SHE NEEDS TO IMPROVE HER CUSTOMER SERVICE OR TO FIND A DIFFERENT JOB NOT DEALING WITH CUSTOMERS! This post is for her! Hope this gets looked into.. Thank you. read more

Worst experience ever. Went in on a Friday afternoon after doing media shoots on the beach, from the initial impression we knew it was going to be a waste of time. We had to ask to seat ourselves because the two people that were working at the front saw us kept looking at us but failed to acknowledge or greet us. We seated ourselves at the bar and had to flag down the guy serving us because clearly everyone there failed to notice us and our big bags of equipment. So we order our food the platter woth wings and everything we asked for boneless wings but still got bone in wings and had to flag him down aggressively for us to get them swapped. They were already on our plate already on our stuff but he insisted to "scoop the wings" on another plate and take them back... awkward and strange but ok. Took them back to bring them again and say I'll just get you the other ones but keep these too.... They were overcooked beyond digestion. Regardless the server never offered if we needed anything the entire time he never brought us napkins never asked if we needed refills complete negligence of service. We didn't mention it to each other because it was already weird enough and after work we just wanted to end off on a good note.... But in unison we said when we got back home NEVER AGAIN Worst EL TORITO in probably the state if not the country .... SERIOUSLY THO read more

I walked in an got a reservation, they said it would be about 30 minutes. So I waited as time went past 30min became 40min. Got up an asked the check in counter said we just sent you a txt. Started walking an saw plenty of open. Tables when finally got to the table they wanted to place us. All the way in thw back right next to the DJ playing his mood. I asked for another table an guess what? Moved me in front of the dj about 3 tables in front of him. A few minutes later, someone gave us small very small basket of chips an small bowl of salsa for 3 people. 15 minutes go by an no one comes, I flagdown a waitress an asked is someone gonna come to our table to take our orders. She said let me check, 10 min later someone comes over an asked did anyone help us. I said no, he said ok let me help you. Placed the orders had a coupon for one free appitize, picked the guacamole an he said it will take 30 mins. I said never mind. Waited another 10 min for my drink. Had to ask for water! Came out same time my drink did 10 mind later! When the food came out, asked for a box to go an the waiter rolled his eyes an head in disbelief. When he came back with the box, I asked for more chips an salsa he again rolled his head. Came back few minutes later with big basket of chips an 2 bowls of salsa. Never came back an check if need anything else. Waited for him to come back an ask for the bill, he already had it punched in an gave it to me. Then he asked is there anything else. I said no gave him my card an was not pleased with the service, yes it Cinco de mayo but by the time. I got seated it was 2120 the one at 2200. Visited this location for a birthday celebration and it's very nice with a great scenery. Does not look like a typical El Torito.
