If I can give Zero stars I totally would. Last night 02/14 my boyfriend and I had reservations & we got to our table @7:46pm and after we got our appetizer before our drinks I knew how it was going to go. We put in our entree order and waited 45 min just for our waiter to tell us they lost our ticket In the kitchen, he confirmed our orders again which were chicken & steak fajitas Another 20 mi go by he tells us they lost our ticket again !!! He offered us more chips & guac ... And the 3rd time he made an approach at our table and gave us our food, but gave us the wrong order, shrimp fajitas .. we didn't order that !!! Booths were not even full nor were they "ExTrEMeLy BuSy" we got our correct meals after. But our waiter neglect our table, we had to bug another waiter who was working on the opposite side of the restaurant. We didn't start eating our food we ordered at 7:53pm until 9:47pm. We were given no utensils to eat our food so technically we didn't eat until 10:02pm cause that's how long it took to get utensils. we decided to just get the check and that took 10 min .. the couple in back of our booth was about the experience the same shit we did & they were told by a waiter that their ticket got lost too, I turned around and told them how we had just been served. I wanted to speak to a manager and no one came. It's so pathetic. Yall have given us the worse experience, & I've never experienced that poor service anywhere before. we had a promo special and didn't even get the desert that was included cause you guys did such a terrible job. Super disappointed. didn't even want to wait in a bag to put our food in, probably would've took 20 minutes to received. You guys should do better. read more

Went here yesterday evening with our friends from Connecticut and first thing I noticed (I hadn't been here in forever), they renovated the place which looked awesome! They sat us at a booth facing the beach view which was a plus. We were there for happy hour which I didn't know was not available in the normal dining area (happy hour is only available in the bar area). BUT!!! Our awesome waitress JESSICA hooked it up either way. The food items on the happy hour menu was delicious, and so were the drinks! But service would be the main reason I'd come back. Jessica was patient with our group despite our being indecisive (I was with 4 other women so... I'll leave it at that... LOL) and helped us out with the different menu choices. But come time to pay the bill... Jessica stabbed me in the back!! She denied my payment and let one of our friends pay... tsk tsk. I guess you can't mess with women once they've teamed up. Staff at the bar could've been more helpful. They seemed very rude whenever I asked questions, it was my first time here. There was a free entree promo when signing up for their rewards and they failed to tell me that the free entree couldn't be applied until our next visit after I ordered the food. I just wish the older man who worked at the bar would've helped me more instead of rushing me, giving a short response and walking away. read more

The view is great so make sure you get a window seat. Table side guacamole is really good. There are barely any vegan options and even items you think are vegetarian or vegan are made with lard, chicken stock, butter, etc (ie. Rice, tortillas, veggie fajitas...).The margatita I had was pretty weak (blended) but the non blended ones are pretty good. I wasn't impressed with our last server... she just wasn't a good listener... kept interrupting and then when I was going to order she walked away. I'm sure one of these days I'll be back but it certainly isn't by my choice. So I am adding a star for the manager's (Luis) quick response to my post. I was informed by the server there was lard used in certain dishes however he states "we DO NOT use lard at all, we use vegetable oil for all the cooking" which is reassuring. My wife Vero and my great friends took me out to celebrate my birthday this Sunday for brunch, and we had the most amazing waitress. Her name: Jessica. It's so hard to find people like her. We were there from 11 to 2:30pm and she was so helpful, tended to all of our needs plus the other tables. Tonight, my boyfriend and I decided to go to Happy Hour on the Pier. Our Server was very attentive and kind. Around the middle of our date, I got a severe bloody nose due to the air quality from the wild fires. I was in the washroom for about a half hour when our Server came to check up on me -- without my boyfriend asking her to do so. She saw what I was going through and called in the Manager (?) and another Server to assist me. I tried to clean the stall up as much as possible, and they kept reassuring me it was okay and they could clean it up. They even offered me a bag of ice, lots of napkins, a new roll of toilet paper and hand wipes for my trip home. I loved how kind they all were, and how they secured the washroom so my boyfriend could also check up on me. I can't thank all of them enough. As a wonderful Bonus, a patron happened to walk in and prayed for me. Within 5 minutes, the bloody nose went from severe to ending. Thank you patron Kim (or Kym)!! read more

The wings were cold, the Mexican food (which they are known for) was nasty and the service was offputting because I brought it to their attention. PASS, PASS, PASS!! Thouroughly enjoyed Sunday brunch at this freshly renovated location. I loved all the color that greeted us at the door with the pan dolce, coffee and horchata spread. But the big win was the view! You can see the beach or the ocean from pretty much anywhere in the restaurant and it's filled with natural light. The variety of brunch buffet foods was incredible. Salad, fruit, fresh seafood dishes, soups, custom omelette station, hand pressed tacos made to order, lunch table (with items like chilaquiles, rice, beans, corn cake), breakfast table (featuring sausage, eggs, enchiladas, tamales) and a kids section with macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, yogurt and chocolate milk. And oh yes, dessert bar, waffle bar and freshly made bananas foster with sopapillas. Seriously, enough choices for the entire family. The servers were all very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Cups were never empty and used dishes were never on the table more than a few minutes. The first two sets of silverware my husband opened had dried food particles on it still and part of the table base fell off after a light tap. The latter didn't affect the stability at all, but was surprising. We loved the convenience of the pier having its own parking structure ($2/hr) and there are also meters nearby. Recession has hit this place hard I guess. Terrible service for a Friday night around 7:30pm. Was told our wait would be 10 minutes, but restaurant was half empty when we finally got inside. Ordered shrimp fajita dinner. Lots of shrimp, but only 1 sliver of chopped pepper in a sea of onions. No seasonings. 4 small tortillas rather than regular sized fajita shells. Guacamole, pinto beans and corn cake were tea-spoon sized. Rice was soggy, bland and lightly flavored even though it had a dark color to it, Appetizer chips were hard and cold. Server did not ask us if we wanted appetizers or dessert. Didn't bring us plates - had to ask. Didn't bring us sauces or ask if we needed anything. Will never return. Terrible atmosphere. Antonio came and checked on us several times which made the brunch experience that much more amazing. Went in on a Saturday night and the food took over an hour because they were understaffed. Not sure why you wouldn't schedule enough people on the busiest night of the week. The service was bad, our waitress forgot part of our order. Some food items never came. When I let the server know that we didn't have utensils or cream or sugar for our coffee he snapped at me and said "can't you see we're super busy?" Corporate should get rid of people who can't handle working in a fast paced environment I still can't believe I was yelled at by staff. Everyone in there was fanning themselves and complaining to management. Short haired lady with glasses was completely oblivious to everyone's concerns. I won't be returning. I was so happy to be leaving as outside was truly cooler than inside this restaurant. It's a sad day when McDonald's and Burger King AC does a better job than a full fledged restaurant's. Such a beautiful place to have Sunday brunch! Service was EXCEPTIONAL and our server Ed made that happen by being very attentive and always making sure we had a full glass of champagne :) My friends and I loved it and were talking about our next return the next day lol The view is the absolute icing on the cake full windows with the ocean showcased in the background. The prettiest El Torito location in SoCal, in my opinion. The food is overall the same, but the presentation of dishes is so much nicer here than at normal locations. Definitely one of the better sit down options on the pier if you are not in the mood for seafood/fried food from the many window stalls. If you are lucky, you will be seated looking over the Palos Verdes Peninsula. During our last visit, the service was very good. The food was great. Our server kept the salsa coming. We ordered the family set for four which could feed a small army! In addition, we ordered the endless seafood tacos. The chicken, beef, pork and shrimp in the family meal were delicious with the onions, beans, rice, guacamole and tortillas. Sides were endless along with the chips and salsa. My family and I have always had great service here until one day we came for my birthday and the service was horrible. The lady told us that the wait time was 30 minutes, so we just walked around the pier and once those 30 minutes were up the lady told us to wait an additional 10 minutes. At this point we kept seeing people getting called for their tables. Again, my mother and I walked up asking how much longer because it's been almost an hour and then she told us just another 10 minutes. Of course we got mad and left because we weren't going to wait another extra hour. Keep in mind it was already dark outside and we came around 3pm. read more
