Good for a quick bite. Friendly. Rice & beans are very basic. Tacos were fine. They do have a small salsa bar which is nice. Just too many options in town I prefer.

Tripa Taco

Really delicious tacos!!! This place came highly recommended and for good reason. I ordered the 6 fiesta taco plate. This my favorite store of taco - small street tacos with just meat, cilantro and onion and hot sauce. Tripas meat was spectacular: Crispy, chewy, fatty and perfection! I also ordered a ln egg and potato taco and an egg and bacon taco - both excellent! I would definitely come back! Also the service was friendly and the restaurant is clean and well lit.

Such an amazing spot! The atmosphere here is wonderfully cozy and welcoming, the outside seating has such a great vibe. And that's not even the best part! The food is definitely one of the best tacos I've had in austin and the drinks are large and delicious!it came out so fast and the service was amazing. My only regret was not coming here sooner, I live down the street and definitely plan to be back!

What do you do after you walk 10 miles? Eat. My friend who grew up here in austin recommended El Taquito (and tbh we were in between this and another food truck). I'm so glad we came here. The atmosphere was quaint, had a salsa bar, a decent amount of seating and their own parking lot (woo!) We shared the queso fundido with chorizo, tostadas, 6 taquito special (bistec) & a pastor taco The pastor taco stood out the most and will be something I order again. As for the bistec, it was tender and flavorful just like the pastor. The tostada was basically a party on a chip and even with everything on it it stayed crispy and didn't break through. The fundido was delicious (a bit oily with the chorizo) but with any fundido you have to eat it quickly Safe to say I'll return #supportlocal

What's good in the world of Austin tacos? Well let me give you the 411! El Taquito is killing the game IMHO...a family friend and I decided we wanted to check out a few spots and this was the first...I almost said cancel the rest because El Taquito set the bar so high ...we went in to taste JUST tacos...no sides so here's the low low What did we order? Campechana - this one had me from the jump...3 meats! Bistek,Carnitas and AL Pastor sheeeeesh Bistek Los Famosos - Steak...I would call it Asada Carnitas - Awesome pork! How did it taste? Ummm damn good! I think that's a category. By far the Campechana was my favorite...the flavors were all on point and there's equal amounts of meat...complimented with the right portion of onions and cilantro!...keeping it classic is the way to my heart! The carnitas wooooo.. yessuh! Tasted fresh...they do make them to order...meaning it's not coming out of a warmer in to the tortilla. The Bistek was flavorful...only knock I had was it felt like they didn't cut the meat against the grain...big deal...chew a lil more it's still good Did I mention the corn tortillas were FRESH MADE! Final points El Taquito sits at the top of my list currently and it's because the food is super authentic ...the price of approximately $3.50 per taco and the amount of protein in the taco makes this a no Brainer! The fact that the corn tortillas are fresh made dammit man that's a winner....sorry no flour tortillas for a pureist! Like tacos...get yourself over to El Taquito..thank me later

It is one of the best authentic Mexican street tacos. I came in with a big group, and we tried all the tacos that were on the menu, and they were all delicious. My favorite one was the Chorizo, it was really good. The hot sauce bar looked unattended until we asked them to refill, and they were nice about it to do so. The place looked ok and not so clean at the tables, but we'll the tacos were really good.

What an awesome find!!!! We had everything from bean and cheese tacos, chorizo and egg tacos, mugs tacos, and tacos all pastor. Aquas Frescas de lemon and Pina were so fresh!!! This place is clean and well kept. Great music too. Food delivery was quick and care is taken with each order to ensure you were served just as ordered. Highly recommend.

Delicious food and even better salsas. I LOVE that this place has an open salsa bar. I went when it wasn't busy and it was nice to serve myself salsa on all my tacos haha. Tip: ask for your chiles rellenos with no salsa. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the tomato based sauce they put on my poblano Chile relleno, but it was fine since I got salsa from the bar.

Hidden gem off Riverside. Not crowded on a Friday night, lots of families in here just trying to get their taco fix. I'll follow them. I had the Al pastor tacos, the green salsa is delicious I put it on every bite !

Came here with the recommendation of a friend who said that these were the best tacos he's had and that my vegan/vegetarian friends should break their diet and eat meat because the tacos were that good. I thought I ordered their 3 specialty tacos but then the cashier told me to pick 2 meats. I ended up with a plate of 6 mini street tacos ($12ish) which I couldn't complain about. The tacos were filled with juicy and tender meat. They have a salsa bar with a bunch of different salsas to try. I also split nachos ($15ish) with a group of people. They don't give many chips but you can ask for more chips and they'll give you regular tortilla chips for free. Overall, not a bad stop for late night tacos. You can tell that they're a busy shop because there was a constant flow of people all night past 10pm on a Saturday.

ordering area. you can also place your order at the tablet as well but card only.

Is this the only restaurant in Texas that doesn't have their prices visible anywhere inside the establishment?

If you ask them for a menu the prices are listed, also.... There's two menu's and the narrow white one has some signature items not listed on the regular menu. Hope this helps!

They have a cute indoor seating area along with a rooftop patio, which is really cute especially when the weather gets great. I got a corn poblano soup and I have to say that was delicious. I got the small cup and next time I go back I will definitely get the whole bowl cause that was amazing. I did go during brunch hours so I got two tacos. One of them was the Migos taco, which was delicious. I love that the tortilla chips and they were nice and crunchy still and not soggy. I also got a taco called the Cherrywood, which had bacon cheese, egg, potato, and avocado, and it was delicious. I love that their tortillas are homemade and they're not the cheap American puffy ones. They also give you complementary chips and salsa and both salsa were delicious. I literally combine both of them in my tacos. They do have some great drinks. One of them is the Highlander margarita which is really nice and smooth and they use patron silver. They also had another margarita that I saw a lot of people ordering and it was an avocado one, and everybody kept raving about it. They definitely have a good mix of cocktails and then anything in general that you would want.

During that time, it has easily become one of my favorite restaurants in all of Austin. I absolutely love the food and the rooftop patio that overlooks downtown/the park, and it will forever be somewhere I continue to go, especially during happy hour. I have tried every vegetarian item on their menu, and while everything is great, my personal favorites are: - cheese enchiladas with mole verde (I get this 99% of the time because they are my favorite enchilada in town) - the chile rellano (it's listed in the sides, but I promise you that it can be a meal in itself) - their rice (comes with many of their plates or inside of their enchiladas) is actually soooooo good and one of the things I look forward to - queso (nothing different about it, but it's just a really good standard queso) - flaquita (spicy watermelon margarita; I don't need to say more) - sangria blanca (super refreshing) Up until a few months ago, I would have given this place five stars, but I've noticed a decline in service that is making me knock it down to a four. For example, they used to give free chips and salsa the second you sat down, but the last three times, I've had to ask them for it (pro tip: ask for chips and salsa!!). I've also noticed slower and less attentive service. Overall, I still love El Alma, and when it comes to food and vibes, it has withstood the test of time. Everyone I introduce to El Alma falls in love (my sister visits me once a year, and El Alma is always on the agenda). Not only have I been coming here multiple times a year for the past five years, but I know I will be coming for as long as they are around.

We tried Esme's creamy potato enchiladas and DANG they were good. The basmati white rice was cooked and flavored to perfection. Maybe a sour cream verde sauce on Esme's would be good, too! Derrick at the bar took very good care of us. I have never said this: I will try every single item on the menu in the next 10 years. This place should be on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. For lunch I ordered the Carneasada Fajitas with chimichurri and my husband ordered the Carneasada Taqueria. With my fajitas came a side of frijoles, green rice & flour tortillas. Corn flour was the other option. Both meals came in pipin' hot & the smell coming from both was very aromatic, zesty & spice. Somehow I'd never been despite living so close, so I was excited to finally check it off my list. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and their famous foyer is just as pretty in person as everyone says. I came with a friend, and we grabbed seats at the bar first while waiting, but I definitely recommend making reservations because this place is BUSY, even on a weeknight. Parking can also be a bit of a struggle since they have a pretty small lot. I had to make a few laps before I finally found a spot, so definitely give yourself a little extra time. They do offer valet, and I believe you may also be able to park in the lot next door after hours since it's their sister restaurant, but don't quote me on that haha. Their margaritas are also really good and definitely on the stronger side, so they were a great way to start the meal. The staff here was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the night. They even walked us to our table and later showed me where the bathroom was, which I thought was a really nice touch. As for the food, it definitely lives up to the hype. It's on the pricier side, but everything tasted incredibly fresh and was well worth it. We ordered the enchiladas, which were delicious, and the shrimp was probably my favorite part of the meal because it was so fresh and perfectly cooked. I can definitely see why this restaurant has been around for so long and has such a loyal following. It took me way too long to finally come here, but I'll definitely be back. One thing I'm noticing as we do these is that you often write reviews that are genuinely useful--not just "food good/bad." You include things like reservations, parking, what to order, or where to sit. I think we should keep leaning into that because it feels very authentic to your style and makes your reviews stand out.
