Just ok. Had the jack fruit tacos and chicken sliders. Was enjoyable but service is not that great. Inflated price tag for what it was. Poolside ambiance is nice, but not much of a view on the rooftop at the Dominick Hotel. Ok if you're staying there but there are better places to dine. Worth checking out once.

Ordered food while enjoying The Dominick's pool from El Takoy. This is a very casual food spot on the roof of this hotel, with Hawaiian themed food and drinks. I ordered the Honeydew beverage which came in a fun tiki glass and was delicious and refreshing. The food here is good but god are the portions small, especially for the price. We ordered the Guacapoke with salmon which was supposed to be a platter, but it was barely enough for two people. It was very good, but for $40 at least throw in a few more chips, c'mon. The popcorn chicken was also very good, but very small. Service was slow-ish considering that there weren't many people at the pool being served. Overall, if you're at the pool and you're hungry this is fine, just be prepared to pay a lot for small portions.

What can you say about a sipping cold brut over by the pool ? The lantern. Flies were a problem, they were everywhere. It's a NY problem I suppose. That aside , It's so relaxing. Service is super friendly make feel special. I trued the spam fried rice it was so good. Interesting Hawaiian theme food.

I had a bit of a mixed experience here. Concierge helped me make a reservation because we were coming for a work lunch and you can only make reservations for 4 people or less, and no one picks up the phone. I didn't realize it was a very casual eatery, almost like a cafe. This means no host to greet you, and the staff working behind the bar were clueless to our reservation. Someone was sitting alone at the only large table and after the staff failed to assist me as I tried to explain the situation, the customer kindly offered to move to a smaller table so we could be seated. Service is definitely on the slow side, and one of the 6 entrees (ramen) didn't come out until the rest of the group was halfway through eating. We also had to flag someone down for some extra condiments and eventually the check. I got the poke bowl - it's definitely adapted to the mainland vs what you get in Hawaii, but it was tasty. Some of the tuna was a bit stringy so I didn't eat it in case. The chicken katsu looked extra crunchy (in a good way). I'm not rushing to go back, but if you're staying here, it's convenient enough.

Delicious and beautiful Pork tacos and fruit deserts!

Great foods!! YES No kidding! Had pork tacos and desert fruits(2 days) while staying at the hotel with family. I was told that the chef is from Hawaii. Judging from these two dishes and drinks(iced tea and lemonade), these are top quality foods! The staffs are very friendly and fast. The tables indoor and outdoor near the pool are all nice. The restaurant is only for the hotel guests.

The Dominick Hotel has once again changed their poolside restaurant. While the decor is cute and quaint and the staff is friendly, jovial, and even gave us free shots, the food was disappointing. Strictly foodwise: Hawaiian inspired, but can't get the poke right. bland, soggy, mushy. Do not order this. Chicken tacos were hit or miss. Someone said it was bland, another person said it was good enough to order a 2nd plate. I had been here the day before by the pool which is also serviced by El Ta'Koy. Got a frosé which was ok... They have popsicles on the dessert menu which would have been fun to put in my frosé, but I just couldn't eat anymore. Nachos were meh. Hummus is standard. Ambiance wise: Really cute restaurant attached to the pool on the 7th floor of the Dominick Hotel (formerly Trump Soho) The have outdoor rooftop dining as well and the pool is serviced by this restaurant as well. Get here after 4pm when crowds die down and you can grab a poolside lounge. Oh, but the pool is reserved for regustered hotel guests only. If you are just coming here for the restaurant, you have the option of sitting inside or outside at high tops seating. It was quite cold when we went so we sat inside. It was very empty at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. In conclusion, I am adding stars for staff personality and another star for ambiance. Our waiter gave us complimentary kamikaze shots and that was super nice. However, the food was subpar with room for improvement AND there was an issue with being overcharged for nachos which was removed from the bill after we added up our itemized bill. But if we didn't, we would have paid an extra $50 for the nachos for literally no reason other than that is how it is calculated by their computer system. Yikes! Anyway, the problem was spotted and fixed. It did just open up so I want to give them a little slack but the food was just not good enough to come back for. Despite that, the Dominick still remains a favorite hotel rooftop pool and I will continue to order from whatever restaurant will occupy that space in the future. At least for drinks. I'll try the Vestry downstairs next. TBH I missed when they served sushi and gave free mini ice cream cones.

Things I dream of all in one sexy, cozy place that whisks you far away from the streets of Manhattan. Our chairs were comfy, and there were many seating areas that looked equally as inviting. The bar was gorgeous, lighting was super moody. The room was daaark and not very busy on a Friday around 8-8:30 P.M which we appreciated. The staff were very hospitable and helpful, giving suggestions on what to order and telling us about some of the preparation, like the brine for the fried chicken that incorporates tea for flavour. We had the Caviar Tater Tots ($29), which were tasty and a fun concept, but I thought a little pricey. We shared the fried chicken ($36), which I also thought was high, even for Tribeca. I wish there had been more than two hushpuppies, which I enjoyed. The fried chicken was very juicy and I liked the spices used in the coating. My friend was celebrating her birthday, which I told the manager about on the D.L. He had the waitress bring a big piece of the bread pudding and put a candle in it. My friend was completely surprised and chuffed. The bread pudding was dense, but not heavy and delicious. It reminded us a little of kugel. I appreciated them gifting the dessert: a very thoughtful gesture. I'd like to go back to try a cocktail, the crab dip and the lobster roll (but preferably with someone else picking up the tab).

It delivered on both fronts, but I really was blown away by the wine. The sheer quantity of available wines is really impressive, and the sommelier was able to recommend a rare wine that fit our interests (a fantastic, effervescent, creamy Txakoli that had lovely fruit and minerals). Later, I tried amazing ice cider. The food rundown: -Sesame pizza Bianca: complimentary bread! This was very good and quite sizable. The bottom is entirely encrusted with sesame. -Scallop crudo (rhubarb, shiso): very good and the plating was gorgeous. Meaty scallops with tangy and pungent flavors. -Snowdance chicken (spinach, sherry, thyme): Super tender, crispy-skinned chicken in a savory sherry sauce. -Sea bass (asparagus, hollandaise): I was surprised at how remarkably well this dish worked. The asparagus was so good with the rich, buttery sauce. Definitely a smaller portion, but the chicken was huge so it balanced out. -Potatoes with ramps: Yum. Served hashbrown-style and the ramps were added as little sauce dollops. I loved the space, and by that I mean the ambience and also the literal amount of space we had to ourselves. We got to stretch out in a roomy corner booth. The room featured a lot of exposed brick and grey and utilitarian ceilings, but it manages to be cozy all the same.

Chambers is a charming, intimate restaurant with a warm, compact dining room, an ample bar area,…read moreand even two chef's-kitchen bar seats that give the room a little extra theater. Unfortunately, the food never really lived up to the setting. The meal started with the scallops with sweet corn and espelette. They were fine, which ended up being one of the more positive assessments of the night. My father had the Peekytoe crab with peach and brioche, which was also okay. My mother had the Norwich Meadows carrots with yogurt and carrot-top pesto, and that was where the meal started feeling flat. Nothing was technically offensive, but there was very little excitement or depth to the plate. Portions were consistently small, which became harder to ignore as the meal went on. For mains, my father ordered the heritage pork sausage with shrimp, Jimmy Nardello peppers and cilantro. The dish only really came together when you got the sausage and pepper in the same bite, but there was very little of it, and on its own the sausage was not especially compelling. I ordered the Snowdance chicken with spinach, sherry and thyme, which is apparently one of the restaurant's signature dishes. My father and I switched halfway through because he liked the chicken more than I did. I found it surprisingly weak: essentially a pounded chicken preparation that was bland, average and nowhere near what I would expect from a signature entrée at this price. My mother had the housemade bucatini with zucchini, Tarentaise and mint. It was strange rather than satisfying, and none of us particularly liked it. Service was much better than the food. Our server was good, and the secondary service was even better. They did forget one of my father's drinks, but replaced it without issue. I still left 22% because the kitchen's problems were not the server's fault. Dessert finally produced the best dish of the night: the mascarpone with phyllo, cinnamon caramel and lemon pistachios. That was genuinely good. I then figured I would order the cheese because, at minimum, how badly can you mess up cheese? The answer was not badly, exactly, but absurdly. The "cheese and crackers" course was two small pieces of Appalachian cheese for the table. Two pieces. For three people. That pretty much captured the meal. The restaurant has obvious Gramercy Tavern DNA in its restraint, seasonal ingredients and minimalist plating, but this felt like a much less successful version of that philosophy. When this style works, simplicity feels precise and confident. Here, too often, it just felt sparse, underdeveloped and expensive. For three people, with appetizers, entrées, three cocktails, one glass of wine, dessert, cheese and tip, the total came to roughly $472. At that price, "fine" is not enough.
