I still dream about this soup. My husband (meat eater) has tried multiple sandwiches and he's loved all of them (and he's not even a sandwich guy). It can get busy there on weekends, especially during the lunch rush. But so worth it. If you're thinking about checking it out, do it!

We joined the line and chose to dine in. Selections of ours included egg salad and turkey and even PB&J! I tried multiple sandwiches and while they took a little while to get (they were also very busy!), we found a seat quickly, started eating our chips and did a bunch of people watching. There's water if you don't want to buy drinks but the food. Wow! The egg salad was delicious - so delicious. Turkey was also. Everything was freshly made, with high quality bread and toppings. Spot was bustling but clean and quick service considering how busy it was. Bathrooms were clean (they must have quick cleaning due to the amount of people). Quality food in a quality atmosphere. And I think they do events - the spot on one side had a sign that they were going to be closed for an event. That must be a great area for a party!

She was very professional and just made the whole experience so fantastic. Let me tell you about the food. We live in Chicago, so we know excellent pizza. This pizza is worth the two hour drive for sure. I took one bite and I said, "that Italian sausage tastes so fresh, and the crust does too!". Taylor let us know that they make the sausage and pizza dough fresh in the restaurant! I was so excited to hear that. It was really tasty. After enjoying the incredible Pizza, we ordered dessert. We rarely order dessert when we go out to eat, but I was dying to know what else they could impress me with. Taylor brought us the most amazing cannoli. So fresh and delicate, tiny but full of flavor. Just the right size after eating all that pizza. I wish Gala-T was closer to Chicago, but now I have somewhere to look forward to visiting when I come to Michigan to see family. Thanks for the great experience, it's now a cherished memory for our family! I'll be craving your pizza!

It did say it had more onion than he likes. But it was a generous portion with real corn beef. I had eggs, sourdough toast, sausage patties and their house fries. I personally would have liked a little more seasoning on the house fries (that had both regular potato and sweet potato chunks). But I will admit, I like a lot of seasoning. I also had a very generous portion of food. The restaurant was clean and decorated really cute. We went in the "off season". So it wasn't too busy. A little more than half full. It's a great breakfast place. And will definitely be back.

Food portions are very favorable to those of us with healthy appetites. If you are petite or do not like larger portions, plan on sharing or taking food home with you! The food tasted amazing and even though we had to wait for a while before being seated due to the popularity of this establishment, it was definitely worth it. Very homey and warm ambiance made me feel as if I was at my Grandma's when I was a child. Servers were all very attentive and knowledgeable of menu offerings. They all seemed very personable as we watched them interact with their patrons. When we go back to South Haven, we will definitely make sure to dine at this gem! It is, in fact, a tiny "general store" that is inconspicuous and easily missed. It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). They have a small deli in the back and the young unassuming young guy making pizzas and other baked goods. He seemed nice, albeit so what suspicious. There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. The taste may not be worthy of a five, but certainly a Midwest tiny-town-in-the-middle-of-nowhere five, and certainly worth a visit for pizza, miscellaneous baked goods... or beer, wine, and lottery.
