A group of us had a holiday lunch here last Tuesday. The waitress did not speak English and it was useless that ask anything except what we wanted to drink. The place was dirty feeling and unsanitary smelling. There were stains on The ceilings and the place unkempt in general. The food was okay. It looked like a lot but when it came down to it not so much when trays were filled with condiments instead of options like cilantro in 1 whole tray. One for tomatoes only etc. The desserts were stale and sparce. We went based on its ratings and comments but found they were not accurate. You pay as you go in which I find tacky and then the waitress asks everyone for their receipts again before you can eat like criminals trying to get a free meal. Myself and a friend ( who's always hangry ) wanted a quick brunch. So the choices were Chinese or Spanish. She reluctantly agreed to have Spanish. Luckily their was a mix of both . The food was very tasty and lots of choice. And she peticulaty liked the icecream ( yes she had all four lol ) staff was friendly and accommodating. Visiting family and found entirely by chance. Haven't eaten at a buffet in YEARS but so very happy to have experienced this one. Parking lot was PACKED indicating good food and good price and it did not disappoint. They had absolutely everything I could think of to satisfy a Latin food craving ~ EVERYTHING. I went to this place because my mother referring me saying they have a good variety of food selection. Is true but let me tell you something. I went to the cook station and there was a latin woman there so i got a piece of steak to have her cook for me. She put my stake in the stove without cleaning her last food. It was disgusting, my steak was very dark and not cooked plus had another sauce i didn't ask for, then i decided not to eat and when to have ice cream. All the ice cream tubs was empty. I went to the cashier and told her. We have to wait more than 20 minutes to have someone to change it out. When i was sitting waiting for that i saw my receipt that says i paid for 1hr. Kind of like a typical Asian buffet with a hint of Mexican but not enough good Mexican food to differentiate it. I went for the first time to this restaurant, and I just had the worst experience. I was trying to leave their establishment, and one of their trucks was parked in middle of their parking lot. I asked them twice as a favor if they could please back down the truck a little so I can leave, and they told me with a bad attitude "to wait". They told I had to wait at least 15 mins. The car next to me, didn't want to wait and tried leaving, almost bumping into my car. I was treated in a rude and demeaning manner the whole time. Don't get me wrong the reason for giving a 3 start rating is because this owner falls short in charging kids $4.99 ages 4-6 as where all other places kids eat free. By the way now all day Saturdays and Sundays is $10.00 so get ready to spend more. Lunch time is at $7.99 till 3pm then $8.99 after. He's been raising his rates with no new food added to the menu. Found here entirely by accident - I used to frequent the 192 Buffet in Kissimmee for my Latin food fix but they closed their doors suddenly a couple months ago. But what a great replacement El Palacio is! A really well laid out buffet that suits many tastes - Chinese, American and Latin fare is offered in quite sumptuous quantities - I was amazed to find goat meat, steak, roasted chicken, clams, mussels, octopus and a host of other meats (including several pork dishes which I don't eat) as well as 3 or 4 soups, red, black and lentil beans, rice, yuca, 3 plantain dishes, salads, ice cream, cakes - and a whole lot more - all for the meagre sum of $6.99! I was there last Saturday and I asked the guy at the counter how long they've been open and he told me maybe 2 months - tell you what .... I'll make a prediction that either they raise their prices soon or they close down - there is no way they are making money at those prices despite the fact that the place was packed to the brim with patrons - hurry down there and enjoy some superb cuisine before you either have to pay more or they are gone forever! Spanish buffet with a Chinese buffet section. It's a great place to bring your family of you want a dinner without a huge bill in the end. 7.99 may sound cheap but it still adds up after taxes.. $17 for two and that's with ordering water to drink. I love this place because sometimes I can't decide do I want Spanish food, sushi, or pizza, well they have it all here and you can take small portion of each. Tostones, alcapurrias, empanadas (de queso, jamón y queso, de pollo, de guayaba), all the meat, there's fish, crab meat, crawfish , sushi with the Wasabi and soy sauce, ceviche, dessert section (very basic, not amazing) were a few things that I saw. I will be back because I like the prices and variety. Dessert section not interesting at all. And if you are a clean eater they had salmon, another steamed fish, veggies. And the sushi. You do get what you pay for so the food doesn't blow my mind. They could at least work on improving the empanadas and there was one batch of alcalurrrias that was overcooked.
