Service was warm and friendly. Food was delicious and served hot. The restaurant is decorated right out of Mexico. Reminded me of a little San Antonio. I would recommend this restaurant if you want to eat amazing, authentic Mexican food.
First time here last night happy hour was good on the drinks margaritas was delicious and was 2 for 1 from 12 to 5pm. Service was prompt and place was huge and nicely decorated. Food was amazing I would definitely recommend trying this. I will definitely go back.
Customer Service and the orchard was good. Drinks were ok. One margarita had way to much lime that we just left it. It looked cool, but it was not good. The patron margarita was pretty good. The food was presented good and looked great. On tast the beef was very salty and the chicken chimi was very dry, but full of meat. We probably would not be back as I could not eat the food due to the high salt content. On a lighter note, my daughter loved her nugget meal, but it's hard to mess up nuggets. For $120, for 4 people and tacos it was a forgettable experience.
Stopped in after many years on a Saturday mid day and it was pretty only 2 other tables. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. But the food was not what I remember. It was flavorless and not as described on the menu. Someone at my table ordered the flank steak and for another cut of meat. It was small and tough to eat and no flavor. The chimichanga I ordered was dry and barely had any cheese on top as it's supposed to. The fajitas did not come out sizzling as it states on the menu and as it always does every other Mexican place Ive order fajitas from. Definitely has decreased in food quality from the prettiness I visited. I won't be visiting again.
Restaurant is very big, lots of parking, lots of tables. Good for quick dinner with no wait Seated right away. Came to try Tacos for Tacos Tuesday for $1.99 each Giving 3 stars because, location, quick/good service, pricing for tacos on Tuesday Tacos - the tortilla could've been toasted longer, it was soggy and don't have the taste it was fully toasted Chorizo - 2/5 - has flavor, but doesn't taste like chorizo I am use too - personals opinion Al Pastor - very saucy, could've cook the sauce down a bit and charred the meat more Carne asada - again could've charred it more a bit Shredded chicken - ok... had some flavor Overall, not my go to taco place, however I will come back to try main entree.
This restaurant is huge. It has a bar on the left-hand side when you come in and then a big dining room that can see a lot of people. The food is pretty authentic a lot of plates come with beans and rice, which I love your agreed it with some chips and salsa the Agua Fresca's are delicious. I got the pineapple for dinner. I got three gringo tacos with pork and they were delicious as well as the beans and rice that came on the side will be back to try more food here as well as some more drink drinks. I'm going to try the Horchata next time.
Went for lunch today with family after a long day at the farmers market and I was very surprised by how down service was. A few years ago this restaurant had all the tables full and now it was empty with just a few tables on a Saturday but I can definitely see why. The food quality has decreased and it not high quality as it was before. I ordered the carne asada which on the menu it states "flank steak" but when I received my order the cut of meat was not flank steak. It was definitely a different cut of meat. The meat was tough and shaped round. I asked the manager and she said it's the same cut of meat they always serve with that meal but I am very knowledgeable with cuts of meats and I can confirm that was not flank steak and they are selling meats that are not what they say it is. I was very disappointed as this used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. I was shocked to see how empty it was for a Saturday but I can see why sales have gone down.
2 stars for El Tapatio, I honestly won't be back unless a lot changes and I don't think it will. Located in Hunters Creek is this Mexican restaurant. Soon as I walk in there is no hostess and it's dead inside, mind you I came on a Friday around 5pm. After waiting for a while for a hostess, I realized that no one spoke English, now usually this isn't an issue as long as we can somewhat communicate on ordering but unfortunately that was an issue. I sat down and asked for a passion fruit margarita and the lady who didn't speak English didn't understand, I pointed in the menu and kept saying "dragonfruit" and I'm like "no" and it was back and forth for a while, she kept coming back and asking "dragon fruit" and it was getting pretty frustrating. She finally brought me something and it was fine, not the greatest but fine. For the entree I got steak enchilada with yellow rice and refried beans. The rice and beans tasted good but the enchilada barely had cheese on top and the steak inside was gross, tasted like super cooked steak and just wasn't great. Not a fan of this place.
My friends had been raving about this spot for a while so I was very excited to check it out. The restaurant was so cool and uniquely decorated (I need that tequila floor in my home now lol), the service was great, and the food was good. I ordered the passionfruit margarita which wasn't very passionfruit-y but still good, the quesadilla I ordered was huge but needed a little bit more seasoning/flavor, the rice was delicious, and the fries were okay. The show stopper was definitely the nachos and the chips and salsa were also pretty good. Next time, I'll definitely try something new!
This place is a SOLID 4 stars ! If you want a typical Mexican dinner where flavors are authentic AND the portion sizes are HUGE-- this place is for you! This is your typical place where you don't want to dress up and feeling like grabbing dinner after a long day at work. Every time I come here the flavors are fresh and perfect. It's definitely NOT Tex-Mex. Be prepared to be greeted happily in Spanish and be serenaded by Mariachi while enjoying chips & salsa on the house ! Still one of the few places that offer this ! Low maintenance - great time The carne asada is always cooked so good too! Their hot sauce (you can ask for) on the side is also soooo delicious!!!
It's been a while since we dined here. They have updated the inside, it's much more brighter with the improved lighting. The food is still really good. You get a good portion size of food. When you sit down you are brought over chips and salsa. The salsa has good flavor, it's a bit on the thinner side for me but still good. Drinks were well made. I asked for a skinny Margarita. It was strong!!! It was also a bit tart but I enjoyed it. Hubby ordered a Michelada. He said it was one of the more flavorful ones he has had. I wanted Birria but they don't have that on the menu so I ordered chicken fajitas. You get a lot!!! Hubby ordered the shrimp quesadilla, it was large and had a lot of shrimp! Food came out quick. It was very busy and the mariachi band was also very good!!
My family and I came in on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was busy and fairly crowded. We were a party of six. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our server was young and very inexperienced but nice. I would give this place a try the food is good and came out hot and fresh. I just feel all the servers are too young and when they are not serving they huddle up near the bar and gossip. My server didn't clear up the dishes after dinner and no refills.
I've driven by El Tapatio so many times but never actually stopped in! This time I was at Target in the same plaza and it was time. I got the skinny margarita, & of course FREE chips and salsa, and everything was decent ! The bartender was also super sweet and attentive. read more
El Tapatio has its own private parking lot, which is a big plus, plenty of space and easy access. The restaurant itself is large, open, and very clean, with a comfortable atmosphere. The food is solid, classic Mexican dishes, not meant to minimize it at all, because everything we had was good and exactly what you expect from a dependable Mexican spot. Service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit, and prices are very reasonable for the portions. Overall, it's a reliable place for a good meal, easy parking, and welcoming service. read more

Decided to stop in for dinner and we were not disappointed with our choice. The restaurant is so beautifully decorated with different Mexican decor, bright and vibrant. We were immediately greeted as we walked in, we opted to sit at the bar. Bartenders and our server were attentive and helpful. I did order a riunite margarita and it was originally served half full (never seen it done that way), I asked the bartender to fill it up just a little more with frozen which was not an issue. The food was great quality, and the price for everything we got was honestly amazing. We ordered the queso dip for our appetizer, so good. For dinner we ordered quesadilla Cancun (shrimp) and carne asada, everything was so flavorful. read more

Upon arrival, no hosts were present. Went to the bar, the bartender was speaking with friends so I waited a little bit before she noticed me. While she was friendly, she didn't really speak English which is disappointing when trying to ask questions. The restaurant was pretty clean with nice decor giving a Mexican appeal. The food surprisingly was very good, large portions and flavorful. That would be the only reason I'd return. read more

Read Robert B's review here. He nailed it. Food was very good!! Service was definitely the worst I've experienced in memory...in many years. Wife and I sat at the bar. It's a very long bar with like maybe 15 or 20 chairs. We were the only people and there was one woman bartender. She forgot about us and spent much time on the phone. She forgot our chips. Didn't ask if we wanted beers when we were empty (doesn't She understand how her employer and her get paid?!?) We asked for hot sauce 4x until we got it, finally flagging down another employee. We asked to have the Bills game put on the TV, speaking to her and 4 other employees, following up numerous times. They finally said that the manager said 'NO'. We asked for the wifi password numerous times, and everyone said they didn't have it. We asked them to ask the jefe (boss in Spanish). ...nothing We wound up streaming the game on our phone and paid $30 for data overages. Food was very good!! Service was so piss poor it was embarrassing for me for them (I'm sure they didn't care). Place can't last like this. read more

This place blew us away ! The atmosphere was so nice! It felt like we were back home and the food was next level ! The taste was so authentic ! And the lady waitress was so fluent in Spanish that she was able to communicate with my dad very well and get his order perfectly!! I wish I could've taken food with me on the plane it was so good read more

Someone told me this place was good , I honestly didn't like it ; I felt like nothing was good. The chilaquiles was nasty, I didn't like their green sauce. I tried their chimichanga and the shredded chicken had no flavor. The best thing I tried was probably ground beef and even that lacked flavor. The ambience was enjoyable the show was better than the food. The guacamole was absolutely terrible and I didn't think it was possible to have terrible guacamole. read more

The remodel on this restaurant is amazing and the food is great. The new location, formerly a TGI Friday's, it is the second location for El Tapatio. Our neighborhood has watched while they gutted the old space and remodeled inside and out. The decor is resplendent in color and the layout calls for a large party. Just off the lobby is a semi private room with shining chandeliers and a table laid out with beautiful crockery. There are plenty of large tables and booths line the walls with plexiglass added for pandemic dining. I headed over to the bar since no one was sitting there and it seemed like a safe place. The red bar is grand and they have multiple brands of call liquor lighted to provide ambiance. The taps offer multiple brands of Mexican beer and common US brands. Happy hour is 11 - 5 pm. As I was leaving I noticed several jugs of juices located near the kitchen. The 7 or 8 large containers of juice looked visually appealing and fresh. Next time. The menu if virtual so you scan or type in the URL. www.eltapatatioorlando.com. The prices are quite reasonable. I ordered the chicken fajitas for $13 and I got a large portion. The single carnitas taco I ordered on the side was full of pork and had a refreshing radish garnish. It was a street taco style with onions and cilantro. El Tapatio offers some lighter or lower priced plates so this sit down restaurant compares price wise to a lot of the quick serve Latin food restaurants in the area. I had excellent service. I was greeted promptly and my server offered guidance on the menu and suggestions. I thought it was very thoughtful that he asked how I wanted the timing on the items I ordered. The only thing is the fajitas came with rice and beans. He brought out the fixing and sides for my fajitas moments before my entree was served. They had run out of rice and had substituted French fries. They were fresh and hot. As they just opened, I know they were busy, however I would have preferred if they offered me a choice rather than assumed fries were a suitable replacement. Overall I was pleased with what I ordered. I got some generic menu items and I look forward to going back and trying their specialities especially the juice. read more
Brand new Tapatío at the heart of hunters creek. Conveniently located. I was excited to not have to make a trip all the way down 192 to be able to enjoy this delicious Mexican cuisine. We arrived a little passed 2pm on a Saturday, the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, but it picked up as we were sitting down. Waited about 2 mins to be seated (hostess wasn't at the stand). We finally sat at our table, waited about 5 mins to be introduced to our server Ruby. She then came and took our order of drinks and appetizers. We had a few questions about the market price for the seafood and the kindly and efficiently found out the answer. Our drinks for our table came efficiently. We proceeded to order our food since one person in our party was a little tight on time. The food came all at once except the seafood soup. The seafood soup took the longest and was the first plate to be ordered... The service is lacking at this location. Seems like the servers are a little inexperienced and just starting to pick up the pace. I'd give this restaurant another try bc the kitchen was delightful and on point!! One thing I did notice that this restaurant isn't keeping the 6ft social distancing rule. If that Is a deal breaker I suggest taking your order to go. read more

The service here is terrible. I feel robbed and the food never came out as described on the menu. La comida y servicio aquí es mala. I asked for the Alambre which includes steak, chorizo, chicken, pork, and ham but I ordered it today without ham. When it came out the first time it only had ham and chicken. I sent it back because I specifically asked for no ham and it was missing the steak, pork, and chorizo. the next time it came out only with steak and chicken as pictured below and was again missing the pork and chorizo. After the second mistake, the manager came over to try and resolve the issue but just came over with only the chorizo. So even after a 3rd attempt I never got the pork or my order fulfilled correctly. I then asked my waiter for more tortillas and he LIED and said that wasn't possible as the person who makes tortillas had left, so I asked the manager for the tortillas instead and she was able to bring 3 more out. The food never met basic expectations and the service was never focused around a customer's requests. they lost a current and future customer in me forever. This establishment doesn't deserve your hard earned money just choose one of the other great mexican places nearby. But if you want to constantly send your sub par food back and deal with incompetence over and over again then eat here :) read more

It's going to be a NO from me. I'll start with the ambiance and friendliness of the staff which were great. No issues there but when it comes to food, the complimentary chips and salsa were like last nights chips bc they were hard and the salsa was bland. The food was bland. The hot sauce was not hot. Don't get me wrong the food looked good but there was no taste. The beef taco tasted as if it came from a can. The meat inside the enchiladas and tamal were dry. I expected more since there's a couple other locations but this wasn't it. Service was quick and efficient but just not good food to me. read more
