The intimate space is welcoming and relaxing. The staff are incredibly talented mixologists at the top of their game. The reason for our visit is their month-long Star Wars pop-up that started 5/4/26 (of course). They nailed it in every sense of the imagination from themed drinks (alcohol and n/a) to the interior and exterior decor. Hoot & Annie is currently The Mos Eisley Cantina. And, it is! It's as though we've been transformed from this town that's about 20 minutes from Austin to the actual Mos Eisley Cantina. My boyfriend is a huge Star Wars nerd and absolutely loves it. I'm a fan and a supporter and dig it. It's literally the next best thing to Galaxy's Edge. No joke. We love it here and we'll be back even during non-Star Wars times!

I had an absolute blast at Hoot & Annie!! Not only was the bartender a mixologist but the vibes were GREAT!! I love the decor from the chandeliers that are like tree limbs women together, the owl wallpaper and the cute mock little fireplace. The music is a plus. However watching them work magic behind the bar crafting cocktails was beautiful. All the staff is friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be back!

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. Clearly, not at all, because the place was packed. Either at capacity or about to go over. We secured a little standing spot at the bar and enjoyed our little brews. As we looked up at the TV, the original Leprechaun movie was playing. The staff were very friendly and moving around at the speed of light to get everyone their green dyed beers. There was over an hour wait for food due to how obviously busy a bar is on International Wear Green and Drink Beer Day, which didn't concern us because we had already eaten. For everyone else, sucks to be them. Our Guinnesses were good, and I really have no complaints. The location is quite narrow, but they make the most of it. There is a ton of beers to choose from, but I only had the Guinness because, well, celebrating a commercialization of Irish culture. Overall it does seem like a cool little spot and I could see myself coming back for a beer in the future. The Leprechaun movie was lit too. I'M SO GREEN RIYL: Brass on tap? idk

I went to the bar and ordered (no wait staff at the tables). I ordered the Fish-n-Chips w/ a Pearl Snap, my date had the Biggy BBQ Mac Burger with a Dragon Fruit Daiquiri. For the positives: our drinks were very good, hard to mess up a draught beer, but it was not flat & just cold enough. She absolutely loved the daiquiri, side note- she's with me so standards aren't super high. Bar staff were super helpful and attentive, patio was very chill and secluded from the other spots surrounding it. The bathroom was clean and didn't smell like vomit. Negatives: My fish and chips were below expectations. Their grease was entirely too hot and it was flash fried causing the batter to be too crispy and the fish was piping hot. The selection of cod was not good either most of the pieces were blackened meat and the chips were crinkle cut fries, a letdown. I wasn't expecting a London level plate but it was a very sad and lonely one. Her burger was loaded with BBQ sauce and her mac-n-cheese balls were fried similarly causing the same burnt batter. It wasn't the worst meal I've had at a chain beer joint, looking at you Fox and Hound, but it wasn't close to the best. The Flying Saucer has a very good bar style fish and chips plate that costs about the same but they pay attention to the details that make it better. Overall I would not recommend and I will not be going back but in a pinch it won't make you sick.

Whenever we go to Round Rock we always say we should stop at this place and never do. They've got this really interesting outdoor patio scene happening that we've wanted to be a part of (you know, hanging out and relaxing with a beverage). Today (5/7/26) we got the chance to do it. We walked in the front door around 4 pm and there were maybe 2-3 people sitting at the bar. Decent enough looking bar interior. Kinda rustic meets dive. We immediately went out a door on the left of the entrance that led to the patio. It felt like the best kind of playground. Lots of room, colorful tables and chairs, an outdoor stage, an exterior walk up window to the bar, cool lighting, and so on. I was like a kid in a candy store! Loved it. My boyfriend and I decided we'd use the outdoor walk-up to place an order and sit outside. I told him I wanted to grab a couple of quick pics. While exploring the patio, there were three men outside as well. One looked to be a maintenance or perhaps construction worker. I figured he was doing repairs or maybe there after work. All of a sudden, one of the men asks if they could help us. My boyfriend simply said, "oh she's just grabbing a couple of pictures before we order". The second man in the group told me I couldn't do that. I thought he was kidding. I kind of chuckled and told him, "it's so cute here I just want to grab a couple of pictures before we order and it's a public setting". The construction worker guy pipes in that it's private property. I told them I didn't mean any harm and that I was excited to be there and I wanted to capture it for my memories and for a Yelp review. The first guy told me I "wasn't going to do that". Folks, I was flabbergasted! Everyone in Round Rock is so polite and kind and this was nothing short of bizarre. When he said that I said "ok" and we walked back through the bar to leave. I apologized to the bartender that we wouldn't be ordering after all and told her what happened. She just kind of looked at me. Pretty sure she was in a state of shock. She said nothing at all. A customer sitting at the bar kept shaking her head in disbelief at what we'd just experienced. I mean isn't the idea of being in business to have customers? Especially during a slow time when you don't have a large customer base present to generate income? Honestly, as I type this, I still can't believe this situation took place. I absolutely hate to leave bad reviews but sometimes you just don't have a choice. Needless to say, The Long Branch Saloon will NEVER get a dime from me.
