Cannot say enough good things about this place. We are out here visiting from CA, and we were looking to have a fun night out. We came on the perfect day (Thursday) because Russell Boyd and his accompanying drummer were the life of the party. Not only did he play some piano classics, but he took requests which made the night so much fun. They also managed to make the crowd laugh quite a bit (Russell is also an author/ really funny person). The service was impeccable, for some reason the bar was getting pretty crowded as the night went on and the bartender (Sara) managed to happily serve everyone. The drinks were good! Overall, it was a 11/10 night out. Our initial plan was to bar hop, but we stayed because of every component that went into this bar. I definitely recommend coming here, but ESPECIALLY on a Thursday night!

Interesting setup and venue. Piano player and drummer. I was invited by a great friend and was not expecting this setup but it was very interesting. A nice bar with a piano player and drummer willing to play any selections chosen by the customers. Great drinks and limited seating area. I would truly recommend this place with a nice group of friends or happy hour after the happy hour. Overall, I think you will have a good time here and if you willing to enjoy good music of your choice, I think you will enjoy this place. FYI, you have to find parking that around the corner or on the next block. Enjoy!

The was such a fun place! We went on a Friday night and the place was packed being so small it gets pretty crowded. They take song requests and oh my goodness are they great at entertaining!!! I got the privilege of hearing Michael on the drums sing his version of Fergalicious which was so hilarious! The drinks are decent prices and the entertainment is so much fun! People were dancing and singing along! I will definitely be going back there again!

I had the opportunity to hit Rocking J Piano Bar and what a night it was! Rocking J is easy to find off the 183 and parking is plentiful, unlike the horrendous parking adventure downtown. The joint is located in a corner unit off Whitestone Blvd and extremely inviting. Music starts a little later at night and if you want a table you need to reserve one. I arrived at 7pm for the 8pm show and there were a few patrons upon arrival. The joint is clean without that beer-stained floor smell and the bartenders are cool and fast slinging suds. Prices aren't bad and all the people that I met were extremely cool, many different ethnicities were hanging out, while the age group was 30+ so it's not the college crowd. The attire ranged from men in tshirts, flip flops, I saw some "typical cowboy hats" and women in shorts and dresses, up to business casual. It's basically a "come as you are" mentality in a very relaxed atmosphere. Please note while they don't serve food, they do allow outside grub, just bring some for everyone, Also the bathrooms are decent not spectacular however you won't need to run down the street. The non-reserved tables are limited and as the show time creeps closer, they start to fill up but there was standing room. The crowd that was there was a pretty lively crew and seemed like pretty decent people. In the corner is a piano and on my night a drum kit. I can't remember the pianist / singer's name but he was really good while the drummer acted as backup, basically enhancing the songs with a steady beat. The guy could flat out sing and I swear I couldn't stump him with my diverse requests. Among the songs were The Cure - Love Song, Alice in Chains - The Rooster, Jimmy Buffet - Margaritaville, Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here. Perhaps the jingle from Sesame Street would have stumped him, but I didn't consider it at the time. Overall, the place feels safe with "good folk" who all just want to have a good time. The staff is friendly and fast and the prices fair. I will definitely be back and hope to see you there!

It was not because the piano bar was performing sub-optimally but because they were not there at all. Apparently, the lead band member was sick and therefore, the band did not perform this evening. It was great to have that dedicated time and in a quiet environment. The mixologist was great and Texas friendly. Also, The piano bar was smaller and more intimate than other piano bars, which added to its charm. Look forward to returning when the band is playing...

The scene was very different from our usual spots and definitely felt like a throwback to our younger days: lots of young people, lots of alcohol, and high energy. It wasn't the cleanest -- there were empty cups and napkins scattered around -- which felt more like a lack of courtesy from some patrons than the staff, but it's worth noting. That said, the bartenders were friendly, service was quick, and there was plenty of seating. We were able to grab drinks easily and settle in to enjoy the show. The dueling piano performers were a blast and play songs based on requests -- the bigger the tip, the better your chances, which adds to the fun. There were multiple birthday and engagement celebrations happening on stage, and the crowd energy was contagious. All in all, we had a great time and would absolutely return -- especially if you're looking for something lively, interactive, and a little out of your normal routine

It's also a piano bar, where Andy, the co-owner and husband, plays fun sets of sing along music! We shared glasses of champagne and cava inside, with a "sweet and salty" bowl, a combination of popcorn, stick pretzels and dark chocolate chips. It was a fun combination! The wines were good, hat tip to the champagne... LOL When it was time for the event to begin, we moved outdoor to the very chilly front porch, but heaters and blankets provided by the wine bar kept us cozy. Delightful evening chatting with the various folks who came and sat outside with us. More champagne and popcorn keep things lively! It was a fun evening, and Cuvee was very hospitable.
