I went to see the Kris Kimura Quartet and they were very good - amazing talents. Kris plays a variety of instruments including clarinets, saxophones, and a truly beautifully haunting bass flute which was a first time hearing this instrument for me. They played a set of Jazz standards from artists throughout the decades. Kris's trumpet had a very slight hint of Miles at a few moments. My one comment is that I felt like the Jazz was a bit sanitized.

This is a neat jazz club. Tickets are booked online. We went on a whim. The online portal has a seat map. There are one to two show times each night. We happened to see the Kris Kimura Quartet. We sat in front. I would recommend bringing a good set of earplugs. Certain brass instruments can be ear piercing. An example would be an un-muffled trombone is pointed squarely towards your head. There is a menu for beverages and some snack food. It's not too extensive though. Your order is taken prior to the show. They'll ask if you want to open a tab. The acoustics are great, though the upright double bass suffered from some weird distortion, rather than a clear tone, which bothered me. The distortion did not go away. All the other instruments were fantastic.

Fun Evening! First time at Parker Jazz Club on Saturday night with my wife. Low top table, second row. Great view, very close. Kris Kimura is a very talented musician and entertainer. Band was great. Several guests, including Kimura's wife, J Johnson. She was great too! Big variety of cocktails, alcohol, and wine. Great venue We will be back ...

This was our first time at a jazz club, and it was such a great experience. We were greeted right away by Chloe, who welcomed us with a smile and a lot of patience. She made sure we were accommodated and introduced us to our bartender (I'm sorry, I forgot her name). The bartender was incredibly attentive, fast, and made some amazing drinks. I'm picky about my dirty martinis, but she nailed it--something not many bartenders can do. We also tried the Margherita pizza, and I was pleasantly surprised by how flavorful it was. The jazz set lasted 90 minutes, and we really enjoyed it. Since it was our first jazz experience, I don't have anything to compare it to, but those 90 minutes flew by, and the main vocalist had a fantastic voice. We'll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

I really enjoyed my experience at Parker Jazz Club. I wasn't sure what to expect but the show flowed nicely and the service was top notch. A good thing to note is that there aren't any bad seats in the venue so you can't go wrong when picking your seats out. The show itself went by fairly quickly but it was so good and filled with so much talent. This isn't my favorite jazz bar in Austin but it is in my top 3 and I would recommend people to visit if you love Jazz.

My husband and I went for the first time last night and we had an absolute blast! It was our favorite date so far after being together for 5 years. The music was breathtaking. Some even brought a few tears in my eyes - it was beautiful! I loved the food and service as well. The pepperoni pizza is delicious and our waitress was the best! The seats and sound were incredible. We definitely recommend going and will be coming back soon. Thank you guys for an awesome experience!!

This place is a true gem!!! Austin severely lacks true live jazz music venues! Thank goodness for this place! Food (bar food), service and ambience were all worthy of 5 stars! Quick, delicious pizza made in house was excellent. Our server was top notch and the ambience was low lit, lovely and very comfortable. There's not a bad seat in the house. We also really appreciated that the level of the sound was not over powering like many places. The talent was fantastic too! We cannot wait to return here...most likely on a regular basis!!!

Not to sound like the leading lady of La La Land, but this place made me realize I love jazz. My husband and I came here on a whim about a year ago and we were blown away; I knew within the first 5 mins that I was going to be back. There is something so enchanting and intimate about Parker Jazz, it makes you feel like you could be watching a jazz set in classic Hollywood in the 1950s, and at the same time makes you appreciate how underrated jazz is in the modern age. The talent on stage is unmistakable, but beyond that, owner and leading man Kris Kimura is so enthusiastic and charming that his love for the music becomes contagious! We've been here about 8 times in the last year now, and it's become one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite, place to spend a Saturday night. We've also brought guests here, both friends in their 20s and our older parents, and this place is always well loved. I've developed such an appreciation for this club and the talented performers we've seen here. Thank you to Kris Kimura and his talented wife Jennifer for opening this place, and providing us with incredible entertainment every time we've visited!

If I could give this place a 10, I would. Sound wise, it's perfect - not too loud, but just loud enough. That's hard to do in a music venue! Ambiance is dark and sexy but clean and not gross, which is hard to do downtown. Stage lighting is on point. Drinks are strong and generous in their pour -- all were tasty! Had a few French 75's, an old fashioned, and red wine. Reservations are available for those who are type A like me and the tables are nice and romantic. I wanted to be by friends and we booked two low tables and those worked wonderful! And the music - what fun! I loved it. A great set from very talented musicians. They are so good!!!!!!! Overall it was such a great time and I wish I had found this gem earlier. GO! You won't regret it!!!!

Fantastic--go immediately!

Fabulous ambience and performance, A+! My husband is not as much of a jazz fan as me but he loved it too, Kris gave kind of an "elevated open mic" vibe, where it's also a delight to get to know him talking throughout, and see him play so many instruments.

I didn't stay long to have experience any service, but I did see staff being attentive and ready to clean up tables. The place looks clean and well kept. While it has been a long time since I have been to the Continental club, it still felt truly Austin and very unpretentious. In the Continental Club you are literally I feet away from the live music. A dog was sleeping on stage, which made the place feel homey. The club is small and intimate, exuding a super personal persona. In addition, the sound quality is excellent for such a small venue. Tonight we listened to Hot Club Cowtown...they sounded folksy and a bit country western yet enjoyable to listen to. Folks were boot scooting, so maybe more country western.
