Came out here with a few friends to shoot some pool. Order 2 rounds of beers. When we were done shooting pool after about an hour I ordered another round and the manager Madison refuse to sell a third drink to one of my friends she said he was drunk after 2 beers. We had been there for a couple of hours I'm not sure what the policy is or why she refused for him to have another beer. It's BS for someone to just cut you off after 2 beers without being drunk or obnoxious. I doubt I will ever go to Greendoor again. read more

Staff gets a 5+ Star review. Stopped in for drinks and an app: Bone-in wings with the mango habanero sauce. Flavorful; but, the tiniest things I have ever seen. Drinks: Heavier pours compared to all the other bars in town. That's a fact. Cold beer, great draft selection. Prices: Great prices in town at night. Cheapest downtown. Plus, specials everyday. Great happy hour that goes from open till 8pm daily. Staff: You will receive friendly service and a smile from everyone. The entire bar staff at Greendoor are experienced bartenders. Events: Wednesday nights is NTN hosted live trivia. Prizes to be had. Friday night is an all request piano show done by none other then Russell Boyd, he's amazing. Tonight we had a party of 10 come into the establishment- my husband gives his veteran ID at first not realizing the ID will b scanned- then the guy working the door tells my husband he cannot come in because he's drank too much after my husband spoke to him with a speech impediment. Totally disappointed in this place and will not come back. A disability my husband had no control over does not make him a drunk! read more

This place isn't bad for just a little bar. The drinks were pretty good, although weak. The food was less than spectacular although everything we ordered off the appetizer menu was pretty great. My husband ordered a burger and I think they had to slaughter the cow out back. It took FOREVER to get our food and he said it was a pretty lame burger. We were told that they were just heating up the grill when we came in. So maybe you should change your food service hours so that people don't have to wait for 45 minutes for a plate of food? Stick to the drinks and appetizers (go during happy hour) and you'll probably have a pretty good time. read more

Bartenders were extremely nice at The Green Door. They went of their way to make a barely filled bar seem warm and inviting. That being said,overall vibe of the bar was convoluted and confused. The space is grossly misused and offers nothing. It's a room with pool tables. I'm not saying a club or a dive, but at least find a middle ground. The clientele was a mix of guys with tattoos and dudes playing pool and the majority was all dressed in black. The bar was playing horrific dance music when a smarter bet would have to cater to the guys buying the fast rounds instead of the non existent girls. Bar tending 101 tells you work toward who's drinking, and when you've got 15 people at 12 on Saturday you're doing it wrong. The bar has potential. Get to work Temple! read more

In town for work. Decided to go in for Wednesday trivia night. It was just sad, it was dead and I actually won a prize by default because I was the only one playing. It was so bad the trivia host stopped announcing (it was an App trivia). The menu didn't seem that great so I just had cheese sticks. Apparently the bartender forgot my order because after my second beer I had to remind him about my food. This could be a great place, and for all I know it may be great. I'm just visiting, so I may never know. It might seem I'm being mean, but I went to the trivia at a different location the next week, and that place was packed. read more

I've been a long time drinker here and have to say this is the best bar around the area. The staff are all amazing and has the best prices as well. They have a few events like trivia night and a guy who comes in on Friday to play the piano. The best thing is the normal people who come in. All in all a great bar! read more

Maybe it was because it was a Sunday evening....and very slow...only myself and husband and another table of 4, but the service was awful! The bartender was nice but more interested in the two other guys that worked there. The grilled chicken sandwich was a poor excuse for a restaurant style sandwich. I would have been happier with a hot and spicy chicken sandwich from McDonald's. Took 15 minutes to get the bartender's attention to close out the tab. Will not bother going back! read more

Had an awesome experience at Green Door- the bald guy that was bartending and the guy working the front 'cover charge' area made it well worth our time! The live band started at 1000 and they played current/classic upbeat county music that my husband and I could sing along throughout the night! Very cool bar. Went here on a Sat night, so there was a $7.00 cover charge for the live band. Little pricey, but not bad. It made up for it since the drinks were cheap. Whoever was working the hostess desk was either really concerned about being perceived as cool, or was under the influence of some strong downers. I could barely understand what she was saying when it turned out she was explaining the cover charge. We just wanted a quick after-show bite, and she checked with the manager to see if we could get in. When we asked if it was okay, she just nodded (not a friendly "yes" nod) more like nodding out. I know we were asking for special treatment, but she didn't even bother to seem awake to communicate with us. read more

If it wasn't for the friendly bartenders this place would probably be with only one star. This place has a ton of potential, but the vibe is more like a dive bar. I came here expecting a nice piano bar, which I've been to my fair share of. I was very disappointed, it felt more like a biker bar than a piano bar. The crowd was also filled with mostly guys and as a guy myself you don't want to go to a "sausage fest". Most females I've spoken with tell me they don't frequent this spot because of the "shady" crowd. It really surprises me since Temple is composed of a majority of women and Scott & White Hospital is right down the road. Get some drink specials for ladies, and dress the place up a bit and people will come. Also charging a cover doesnt help either, so many people I know will turn away because of cover, and not because they can't afford it, but because its the principle. Cover charges are meant for BIG name bands or events. Lose the cover charges and people will spend more money, when you walk into a place and are told you have to pay a cover, it sets off a negative vibe right off the bat. read more
