My partner and I came in on a Friday and although It was karaoke night it was decent, the environment was great. Some of the servers are a little clueless or too new to run their own tables. The server whose nickname is "T" is the best server in the whole joint meaning that it'll be hard to get her. We ordered the mango ceviche and Guac which were delicious as always. read more

Service was incredibly awful. Sat there and no server came to help us (party of 3) until 20 minutes later. Ordered two tacos and they said they only had hard shell, no sauces. Ok fine. Waited 45 minutes and was then told my order was given to another table. When said server repeated my order back, it was wrong. Don't even think she put in my order. Was told manager would remake my 2 tacos. Waited another half hour. There were only about 7-9 active tables and when I went to the bar I was addressed immediately. (BTW- I had made a reservation!!!) No apologies for the inconvenience. Only had one water at the table and was never even refilled. Waitress would ignore our table after she dropped the two tacos at our table. And was charged for them even after they were cold and tasteless. I had 2 tacos and 2 drinks and I was there from 6:30-9pm because of how long I waited. Great lil gem in "downtown" Temple. I personally judge my Mexican/ Tex-Mex restaurants on their chips/salsa and their made to order margaritas. The margaritas (mine were on the rocks) made to perfection. Finally a place that has "Hot" salsa. Great taste, great amount of heat. Only miss with all of this are the chips. My personal preference is for a thinner chip. Some like the thicker ones and try this place regardless of my chip preferences. I ordered the Steak Fajitas with Corn tortillas. Great portion size. The sides were portioned to complete the meal. I did ask for sour cream since the menu did not say it came with it. Well it did and the waitress did not let me know that and so I got charged for an extra sour cream. Not a big fan of refried beans, however that was what they had. They tasted good and I believe if you are a refried beans type, they would be considered great! The restaurant itself is modern meets industrial vibe. Cozy but not tiny. The staff could be a little more attentive or at least more personable. All in all, I would eat here anytime I am visiting the area and wanting Mexican. read more

They had me at $10!!! I went here for lunch and my plate was only $10. The host was nice and welcoming. The waitress greeted us and immediately asked what we wanted to drink. The restaurant was clean and had nice ambience. I think this place would be nice for a celebration as well because they have small section in the back. The lunch menu is well put together and not overwhelming. I got the fiesta plate. It came with a crunchy taco, enchilada, and tosta. The beef was very well seasoned and not super duper dry! We got there around 6:30pm and it wasn't very busy yet. We had made reservations in advance just in case. If you're planning on coming later I would do the reservation because it got very busy before we left. The service was good, food was hot and tasty. Our favorite Is Italian place had another hour till open ( we forgot ) and here we were in a parking spot and a sign saying Cantina 1948, so naturally I look up reviews. We tried it, the day was beautiful so we sat outside. Thomas, our server, was top notch. Everything about this place was superb. We ordered off the lunch menu and the food was great.. salsa and chips absolutely perfect, guacamole fantastic.. enchilada and taco, yummy! Margarita special with Patron was excellent. It's okay... the Mexican food wasn't authentic and the enchilada was too salty. The tacos just weren't what I'm used too. The drinks were okay. The service was really good though, they did ask us if we were good quite a few times. My rating is completely based off of the food, nothing else. And it's pretty pricey as well. This place is super cute with tasty food and drinks at a great price! For my drink, I chose the Sangria Margarita. If you look at the picture, you will see that it was "LIT"! For my meal, I ordered the Fiesta Plate from the lunch menu. During the ordering process I was able to select my protein on each part of my entree. I chose chicken on my tostada, beef on my crunchy taco and cheese only on my enchilada. Everything was good; especially the queso on the enchilada! Oh my, I may need a bowl of that next time! What went well? Everything! If you see my reviews you'll see mine are mostly not great reviews. I just expect good food, service and a comfortable place to eat. This restaurant had it ALL! I had the La Gorda Plate. 1 crispy taco beef, I pork tamal, and I chicken Enchilada. I also had the Mexican Martini. It has a little olive juice, Tequila, and sweet & sour. Delish! The food and drink felt like the took pride in their products. The taco had flavor, light an crunchy. The tamal had plentiful meat with visible vegetables from the stew. The Enchilada shredded chicken just as good. They are a couple steps above other Mexican restaurants in town. They wait staff perfect! The ambiance perfect. There are beautiful seating area for hanging out. The 2nd best part. My lunch special was $10.00!!!! Martini 13.00. I'll be back!! Just got carrots cake to go. Update, I'm not a fan of the cake. We came here for pre-diner drinks at the bar and got the La Getona Margarita and frozen strawberry margarita. The drinks were very good. The bartender serving us was very friendly and talkative. The vibe is very different than other places in Temple with nice mood lighting and good music. I can't comment on the food but I do recommend coming here for some nice tequila drinks! read more

The place is pure trash. Arrived on a Friday night. Last call is before 12:30. It is literally a useless establishment.

This place is great for drinks, environment and service. The only down side was the DJ Wendolee. This is a latin club and she played a lame music playlist all night long. Country, 80s and 90s house and alternative. Its a latin themed bar. Can we get some spanish music? Mind you she sang her own karoake all night long.
