Chicken taco, beef taco, and cheese quesadilla
    Carrie M.

We had beef tacos, chicken tacos, and cheese quesadillas for a group event from this taco truck in Salado. They were okay. The meat and tortillas were dry, while the quesadillas were a bit hard. Their two types of salsa they gave were extremely spicy, even to our friends with a high spice tolerance.

Two tacos. One order. Separate plates. Lol

This is now apparently a restaurant in salado ... we sat outside to utilize the playground in the back ... first off they don't have a liquor license. Yet. So no beer or alcohol .... Bummer .... literally took over 20 mins for guacamole .... Was 8 dollars ..... for guacamole ?our server seemed clueless. Apparently when we went this place had only been only for 2 business days. She finally came back with our guacamole 20mins later .... Took our order which consisted of two tacos. Literally two tacos. She walked back inside. To only come back out 5 mins later and said " you said two tacos , right ?" K this is why business don't last in this location. Maybe when they get a liquor license they will have cheap drinks to draw people in there ? Guacamole was ok. Tacos were ok.

Quick service and the prices are good. We loved the picnic area that includes shade and corn hole. The lot is not paved so be warned it may get dusty.

Our waitress mentioned that the menu changes month to month so, we are excited to see what new items come. The chicken and biscuit benny is very filling and heavy, but delicious.

This is my second visit since the restaurant's most recent ownership change. Had Sunday brunch first visit. One of my friends doesn't eat eggs and asked if she could have a menu item that included eggs, a meat and breakfast potatoes. She asked if the eggs could be left off. She was told NO, so she then just ordered a bread and coffee. I don't understand the waitress response because we weren't asking to deduct the cost of the eggs! She just doesn't eat eggs! Turns out they were out of breakfast potatoes and wanted to bring us french fries instead. We declined. Really.....nothing special about this breakfast and very expensive and disappointing service. The only positive was the restaurant looks nice. Decided to give the restaurant another chance and went for lunch. Had soup and salad. I really only wanted a cup of soup, but that was not possible. Had a very good strawberry and watermelon salad and a giant bowl of corn bisque swimming in oil on top. Very unpalatable. Told the waitress and all I was offered was that they would tell the chef. The salad was $16 and the soup was uneaten and cost me $14! They did bring me the standard Stagecoach hush puppies before my meal and they were delicious! When I had heard the restaurant would be managed by the owners of Monument Cafe I was so excited. I love Monument, but this restaurant is too expensive for the poor quality of food. I would love to have the menu at Monument at this restaurant. The only positive is that the remodel of the restaurant is lovely in appearance. I wouldn't mind the prices if the food was delicious and it was not. I won't return nor will I recommend to my friends. Very disappointing.

It took so long for our food to arrive that we were already full from sharing a little over one small basket of chips amongst three of us. They charge $2 + tax for the chips and salsa, but it is very worth it as there are unlimited refills. However, they did not refill the salsa until we finally asked, which was fine, but then they also didn't refill the chips which were almost gone as well. The tortilla chips were very thick, which we thought was so unique. We really enjoyed them. My friend asked the hostess afterwards how they make the chips, and she just laughed in response. I got the chipotle pineapple chicken tacos, which were very good. I really enjoyed the sauce and the chicken. The rice was normal. The beans, however, were very liquid-like and did not taste good. They were so watery. My friends shared the chimichurri carne bowl, which I guess says in the description that it's a meat bowl, but they were surprised it didn't come with anything else like rice or beans. They said the steak was good, and the shrimp and chicken were fine. The food was good overall, but the service was so slow and inattentive that it made for a poor dining experience. I think the server forgot about us at the end because we waited quite a while while she kept walking by us, and we finally just went inside to the front to ask to pay the bill.
