This place serves some of the most authentic Mexican food we've ever had. We ordered tacos, gorditas, flautas, and the rojo guiso de puerco, and every single dish was absolutely amazing. The flavors were fresh, homemade, and full of authentic taste. You can tell everything is made with care and traditional recipes. The rojo guiso de puerco was especially delicious--tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The service was just as impressive as the food. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. It's the kind of place where you can tell the owners truly care about their customers and take pride in what they serve. Honestly, this was some of the best food we've ever had. If you're looking for real, authentic Mexican food and want to support a local family-owned business, do yourself a favor and give this place a try. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town. This hidden gem deserves a lot more attention and customers!

As for the food, it was WONDERFUL. I had a gordita con rajas y queso. It was thick, wonderful blue corn tortillas, and cheese. The red salsa was hot, the green mild-both needed salt as well as the beans. My husband had tacos de asada, which he loved. He said the grilled onions were the perfect touch. I only wish I had ordered one more gorditaand skipped the plate-and a couple of tortillas to go.

I will say it looks kind of sketchy from the street, but I knew the food would probably be good. I was a bit perplexed when they gave me a pen and receipt to sign and write in a tip in the drive-through though. The employee was very friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I was overwhelmed by the extensive options, but I settled on a breakfast burrito with egg, potato, and chorizo for $7.25. I thought it was good with the salsa they gave. Nothing super special. It was a large burrito, and I was full afterwards. They have daily specials that are good deals.

It took 35 minutes for me to get chips and salsa to the table, I was later asked if I needed anything else, I said can I order a drink. I ordered a sweet tea and when it came back they asked if I needed anything else, well being I had sat so long, I was beyond ready to order my food. I ordered a regular shrimp cocktail and seafood tacos. Food came quickly, the shrimp cocktail was insanely sweet and I cannot even begin to explain why, I ate 4 bites and had to leave it alone. The shrimp tacos were okay. Nothing special. Over all, I did not clear any one item from my plate. They did voluntarily take 25% off both items which I was grateful for. I did however extend it back in a tip. Not sure I would go back but there is a first time for everything. I'd say the best thing about the meal was it was raining on the tin roof I was sitting under and watching the creek free flow in front of it.

Longtime Belton resident here. TMG has been the go-to Mexican for late-night, fast great service &…read morefood over the years. They've even expanded their parking lot over the past few years to accommodate their popularity, including a second drive-through lane. But for the past several weeks, it's had a cone blocking the second lane rendering it unusable. Why have it if it's not going to be utilized? Here's why they're getting a 2 star from me tonight. See, I hit them up for take-home a lot using their drive-through including tonight. The service is kind, usually speedy & the food is consistently great quality - absolutely not mediocre Mexican. However, tonight was the FIRST time I've seen a major change for take-out & it's not good. This is why even after all the good times & food, I'm submitting a review & a less-than par one at that. I did voice my concern with the drive-through facilitator who confirmed this was a brand new adjustment they've made & offered to change it to the same old. But I refused to waste more time & resources. Let me elaborate specifically on the major issue of change here: First & case in point, look at the picture of my order & ask yourself, where are the beans?? They have always used the typical dinner plate styrofoam box. Tonight I got, for the first time, a round aluminum plate instead. You typically get these at Italian restaurants where there is one take-home entree. So now, you CANNOT get your food separated/quarantined. YES, this keeps the order hot, much appreciated. But when you have an entree, and what should be distinguishable sides such as refried beans, rice & salad, WHO wants it all congealed together as if it's one entree? Additionally, I know that many people would have a problem with their food being basically mixed together without diner choice control. Not only that, to prove the point, I opened mine to basically not even SEE the beans. Yes, they're UNDER all that....somewhere! What really irked me too is that with the change, though, not by much, the receiver is presented with seemingly smaller portion sizes for obviously the same price. What gives TMG? Keeping it hot sacrifices some common sense eater preferences/ mix rights & makes me feel like you want to cheat the customer a little bit to save costs too. I'm all for GOOD & REASONABLE changes, but I think this is a bad move.

It lived up to that comment. The cheese was so awful I had to peel it off in clumps off the chips. The meat was overdone and had way too much nasty spice on it. The only good thing was the marguerita. My gosh Temple and Belton people, upgrade your food! There is so much good food out in the world and I don't understand why anyone would eat this crap.
