1/4 White Meat Chicken
Che C.

I enjoy Spanish food, and El Gran Pollo doesn't disappoint. The first time I ordered from them, I got the chuletas de cerdo--pork chops with chaufa rice and fried plantains. I felt the pieces of meat in the rice were unnecessary, so I picked them out, but everything else was perfect. The second time, I ordered baked chicken with white rice, green beans, and fried plantains. They offer a choice between white and dark meat--I chose dark, but they sent white instead. Even though it wasn't what I ordered, it was still good, and I'd definitely order from them again. Next time, I might place my order in person instead of opting for delivery to avoid mix-ups. Overall, the food is tasty, and I highly recommend it!

Amazing food really good taste, really good flavor. Service is really good. One of the best Peruvians restaurants I have tried.

Walk in here because my bf wanted rotisserie style chicken like 3 months ago and I've been back at least every two weeks since. The food is consistently good, the service is simple. They have a cafeteria/chipotle style service bar. The sides are great. I've had pretty much all of them. The green beans are fresh and seasoned well and I love the half and half rice and black beans. Stopped in for sides on cinco de Mayo and realized they had tacos (I never knew) they were great! I would definitely order again!! Do no second guess this place come in you will not regret it! The chicken is perfection. I'm not big in left overs and i will eat everything from here until it's gone.

Starving!!! Came across the above mentioned on my DoorDash app. Ordered the lamb Gyro-what a disappointment, the meat was clearly pre-cooked and tossed on the grill for crispiness-there was a weird salty taste to the meat, the pita bread did taste fresh. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and crispy. The accompanying fries were oily and undercooked. My side of plantain's were the only saving grace! Forgot, asked for extra napkins none were sent! Had to rummage through my desk! Not a good day for a late lunch! Especially $$$$.

1/4 Dark meat meal w/ 2 sides plus an extra side

Great location an not far from my home. The menu was computer generated and hard to read since it flashes so fast. But since I am familiar with the menu at bbn other similar chicken places I just ordered the 1/4 dark chicken meal with an extra side. We had string beans roasted potatoes with carrots nd plaintains. For my extra side I had intentions ordering an extra side of plaintains but was told the side was $3 so I went with the potatoes. Everything was flavorful and good. The takeaway is their sauce was hotter than most places, whereas everyone's else's is mild. Definitely worth going back since this is local.

Well Yelp family I am still fortunate enough to be working from home so I had the opportunity to swing past an oldie but goodie EGP for lunch. They're still keeping it Covid safe and have the entrance and exit roped off in a way that dictates the flow in and out. There's lots of signage to indicate where to go and an area for delivery service pickup. Good thing because I got there peak lunch time and it was super busy, but the lines flowed smoothly. I was probably in and out in less than 10 minutes! I got a half chicken, fried rice, and plantains! It comes with 3 sauces (you can pick from 3 kinds) I'm a huge fan of the "green" (hot) and "yellow" (mild and creamy). My only beef is that 3 is never enough for me plus the cups are super tiny and often not filled to the top. You can pay a small up charge to get a few extra which I gladly do and highly advise. It just really sets everything off right. My meal today was so ridiculously good and everything I'd hoped for. The chicken was juicy and flavorful as per usual, I hit it with some green sauce. The fried rice got some yellow sauce and was hooked up nicely with bits of chicken, egg, and green onion so if your not a sauce fan, it's awesome on its own! All in all it was a solid lunch and snack for later ;) If you're itching for a charbroiled chicken fix definitely check them out!

This places never disappoints! Their food is always fresh, sometimes right oout the wok! They have a wide selection to choose from, to include desserts. You can dine there or take out. The staff moves fast, ESPECIALLY when there's a line. This location is definitely #MallyMallApproved

Each platter comes with sides and each side looks so good you'll definitely have a hard time deciding. I also got some green sauce and white sauce too. The chicken was super flavorful, moist, and fell right off the bone. It was sooo good! The brussels had a surprising kick to them and were nice and tender. The yucca fries took an extra few minutes to come out since they were frying them up fresh for us and it was worth the wait! They have several locations but the food doesn't taste like a chain, if you know what I mean. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone craving some delicious Peruvian style chicken.

You have to be buzzed in and the dining room is literally the size of my living room. Very intimate. The food was superb. Stellar. Outstanding. Truly, each course was delicious, with layers of flavor and unexpected combinations. The ceviche in an intensely limey coconut broth started off the meal and I thought that if everything else sucked I would still be happy. But the dishes kept getting better. I did not anticipate enjoying veal heart skewers, but they were smoky and very reminiscent of good carne asada. The purple corn tamale was a very interesting mix of heavier corn with light ahi tuna. And even the little bowl of plantain chips they bring out first was excellent. This is a set menu, 5 courses on the weekdays and 6 on the weekends, and is a bring your own alcohol set up. I did not feel rushed until the desert course was served with the check. The variety of the dishes was fun to experience; each course was very different. Puerto 511 does really well with seafood. My favorites courses were the Ceviche Amazonico and the Tamalito Verde. The flavors were incredible. The Pulpo en su Causa was also a very interesting dish. The combination of ingredients and the inclusion of a cold mashed potato component were both innovative. I was disappointed with the other courses, though. The veal was tough, the lamp chop was tough, and the desert was not very flavorful. The quinoa flan and the passionfruit ice cream did not match very well in flavor or texture. The restaurant building itself was ok. The ambiance did not indicate fine dining to me. The service was not very personable. I would like to come back sometime in a different season, when there is a new menu. But overall, I would say Puerto 511 is definitely a dining experience worth trying.

One bite of each was enough to stop eating them! Then along came dinner..... Lomo Saltado and it was more disappointing than the appetizers! The steak chunks were not seasoned, the dish was very dry and the fries and vegetables were not seasoned. This meal doesn't even rate 1 star and they should be ashamed of their service and products!! The food, they have a great lunch option and we took advantage of that, an app, main dish, and drink for $18 Their empanadas were 5/5, great filling and flavor, nice crunch/flakey dough and I would 100% recommend. The meats, now y'all know, if you have been reading any of my reviews that I like my steak/meats a particular sort of way. just to preference! I got their Lomo saltado and the steak was TOUGH, not uneatable tough, but tough enough to not really enjoy my meal. But besides the meat being tough, I couldn't really taste the aji amarillo flavor and didn't have much flavor in general, just a little salty. The fries were great crispy on the bottom and were prepared well. For a dish that's almost $30, they should use a better cut of meat. overall, not a great experience 2/5. My wife got their steak skewers and similarly, the meat was too tough, and didn't' have too much flavor. also very mid. Overall, the place was cute but just lacking in terms of their food. I would maybe go back to try more things (but really to eat their empanadas) but with almost spending $70 for pretty terrible main course meals was unfortunate.

Your typical counter side ordering fast-casual set up with fountain drink dispenser and booth/table self serve seating. We saw many people go up to the windows and order to go orders and get their food quickly and leave even a couple get their dine in orders quickly. We waited for over 25 mins. I went up and asked and they went to the back and said it would be a short wait. About 10 mins later I got my tacos (the longest I have ever waited for tacos anywhere) but she still didnt have her chicken. The tacos were okay, the chicken tacos were a little dry and sauce was a little lackluster in flavor. She went up and asked and they forgot and got it out in 10 more minutes and delivered it to the table. 45 mins is unacceptable for rotisserie chicken which they have practically waiting to chop and serve (just like they did on all the to go orders) beyond that if they found out they forgot something, why wait for the yucca to be done, they should have served the chicken on the spot saying they yucca would be done shortly instead of having a hungry guest wait. Over all the food was okay at best and plus the elongated wait time just made for a bad experience. It seemed that no one working had any sense of urgency. Probably would not go back.
