I feel like there is truly so much potential for this spot, but maybe they weren't set up that way. There was a taco guy outside of the venue the Friday night we stopped in. The cocktail menu is extensive and the drinks are delicious and unique, but this is literally just a place to stop in and grab a drink, then go. Walking back to our cars, we walked by a spot that was playing hip hop loud on speakers and the vibe was lively. We remarked at how we should've gone in there, then looked up and saw it was an insurance agency. Definitely the type of vibe Middle 8 should look into!

A Charming Birthday Celebration in Downtown Pleasanton!…read more We came to Ruby's & Roses, located at the end of historic downtown Pleasanton, to celebrate a friend's birthday. The restaurant itself is exceptionally charming with fantastic decor and a wonderful vibe--we couldn't resist taking a few pictures before sitting down! The staff throughout the restaurant are super friendly, and our waitress, Natalia, was outstanding. She was efficient, warm, and made our entire dining experience seamless and special. The food and drinks made for a fantastic night out: * Beet Salad: This was so good we had to order a repeat! It featured the most amazing garlic goat cheese, crisp, fresh arugula leaves, and a top-notch dressing. * Mango Spicy Glazed Chicken Wings: Arrived warm, perfectly crispy, and packed with incredible flavor. * Side Bread: Served warm with delicious garlic butter. * Lamb Chops: Really well-made and tender with great flavor. The only minor downside was that the portion felt a bit light given the price tag, but the taste was definitely there. * Street Noodles with Prawns: Incredibly tasty, rich, and full of flavor--a total winner for the main course. * Cocktails & Espresso Martini: We tried a few great cocktails, but the star of the entire evening was hands down the espresso martini. Absolutely amazing! * Warm Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream: Ended the meal on a sweet note with this warm, decadent chocolate cake paired with ice cream--it was super rich and delicious. Overall, we had a fantastic evening celebrating with friends. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and delicious food, and we look forward to many more meals at Ruby's & Roses!

Very clean, very comfortable seats. Our waiter was a gentleman who wore glasses, never shared his name, not very attentive, and just did the bare requirements of a server. For this type of establishment, I would've thought it would be a little more upscale and attentive service, but he did his job. Blackened salmon was divine. Every bite tasted like the first bite and was heaven. Such excellent seasoning and cooked to perfection. So were the potatoes. For dessert, we had the cookie butter sundae, which featured Biscoff cookies, ice cream, and a caramel sauce. It was tasty. I'll definitely be back, thank you!

They can get a little busy, so be patient with the staff as their drinks are very popular and might take a little bit. The staff was really friendly, attentive, and gave us clear expectations for wait times the whole time. The ambience was awesome for the pop-up, the decorations were super cute, and the attention to detail was awesome. Me and my boyfriend were guessing how many hours it might've took for them to decorate the whole place. It was awesome and super decked out The drinks were really yummy, food came out fresh. This would be nice for a simple date night, as well as hang out with friends. There's also outdoor seating, so you could bring dogs or maybe have time with the family too as well, since it's a full restaurant

I've come during the week and on the weekend. It doesn't matter which time I've come it's been GREAT! Today I came on a Sunday and they actually have a Sunday brunch where they have a live DJ they play music. They have shots going around it's fun and if you're going out with the family like I did today, you can sit in the upper area that's away from everyone else having the brunch fun. It was still fine even though we brought the kids and sat in the upper area. We could still hear the music and enjoy ourselves. I would highly recommend this place. It's a shame that I live so far away in Tracy that I only get to come once in a while because if I lived closer, I would come every weekend.!!! The desserts are so good!!!

I'm so happy I finally tried it before they move locations, even if it is only across the street. We tried lots of food and almost everything made me want to come back again. Mezze platter (10/10): Everything on this platter was amazing. The basil shrimp was so fresh and bouncy with a nice grilled flavor. The pumpkin borani with the yogurt sauce on top was the star of the show for me. The garlic hummus was one of the best hummus I've tried because they really don't skimp on the garlic! The dolmathes were more standard compared to the rest, but this platter is still a must get for a group, even though it was just the two of us. Spicy beef cigar rolls (10/10): The flavor was amazingggg and they were so crispy. As an Asian, it felt like a unique version of an eggroll to me, and the tzatziki was the perfect complement. I will get this dish every time. Koobideh kabob platter (9.5/10): Amazing spices and cooked so well. The spicy harissa was nice, although I wouldn't get extra sauce next time since our appetizers already came with similar sauces we could use. The crispy potato wedges were crispy, but just okay and felt a little plain compared to all of their other dishes. Oasis curry (7.5/10): This was good and reminded me of a thinner butter chicken. I'm not sure if it is traditional or more of a fusion dish, but it was good nonetheless. It does feel like you can get similar curry elsewhere, so for two people I could skip this next time and save stomach space for more of the different yummy options! Baklava (6.5/10): This was the only dish that disappointed me although the flavors were on point. It was soggy and soft (rather than crispy and flaky) and tasted old. The sweetness was perfect though and I hope it was just a bad day for this.

I've tried a range of dishes -- the rack of lamb, lamb shank, chicken kabob, fresh bread with dipping sauce, and the unforgettable beef cigars. The beef cigars are a standout and something I now consider essential every visit. Although I don't typically order lamb, the rack of lamb on my first visit was exceptional. I returned with my husband and ordered the lamb shank, which was equally delicious. Even my husband, who is a very selective eater, enjoyed everything we tried. The restaurant is lively during dinner but surprisingly quiet at lunch, which makes me think more people need to discover how great the food is. The menu is well‑priced, and while the drinks lean toward the higher end, they're crafted well and worth it. Service has always been attentive, and the atmosphere is uniquely adaptable -- it feels like everyone settles into their own vibe and enjoys the space in their own way. Oasis is absolutely a place worth returning to.

Weekends is buffet only for lunch. It was a good option for us as we are a mix of vegetarians and meat eaters, kids and adults. This allows us to taste many dishes without having to order a lot of items. They had setup a large table on one side of the restaurant and this gave us enough privacy to be by ourselves. The service was good but they were refilling the Naans on request. But they cleared our plates and filled water promptly. The food was a good mix and all of us liked it. There were some issues and we pointed it out to the manager and he was appreciative of the feedback. He even offered to give us some samplers to take home. We were already full and so declined. We would definitely go back again if we are in the area.
