Dive looking but family friendly. Great drinks, better bartenders. Margaritas are a must here and bloody Mary's are always an option

El Chupacabra is right along Alki Beach if you're looking to grab a bite to eat. They have a mix of outdoor (but covered!) and indoor seating. The menu is very basic with Chipotle style bowls and some taco options. I swung by for dinner on a Saturday around 6:30 PM and they were at 40-50% capacity the whole time. Overall, not mind blowing but the food was solid if you're looking for something convenient. Beer Battered Fish Tacos (4.25/5): Fish was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and super tender inside. Everything was exactly as you'd expect and done well. The slaw was crunchy and fresh, tortilla chips were salty and harder crunchy. I just wish the limes were a bit juicier.

This place was phenomenal. Me and my family of 4 came here and got sat down instantly. We ordered our food and maybe 15 minutes later it came out and was probably the best Mexican food i've had in quite a while. I ordered the Carne Asada tacos on the soft corn and they were delicious. Our server Jenn was absolutely amazing at her job and she was just a whole vibe and we loved her. Will be coming back when I come back to Seattle!! ‍

I really wanted to love this place, but the food quality could have been better. The location is so perfect, though, that I already know we'll definitely be back. FYI, this place has two levels: an upstairs and a front area for seating. If you want to get a good buzz and eat something to balance out the alcohol, then this place can work for you. If you're looking for quality, it's not the place for you. The service was good for being a divey vibe. The servers were super attentive and friendly. The food and drinks came out lightning quick, too. We came here for Cinco de Mayo's extended happy hour and will be back when we're in the area. The place's affordability is probably what attracts casual diners and folks who just happen to be in the area. We saw people from all walks of life here, not just locals.

Food was okay, not as tasty as the reviews I read prior to visiting this place. Quick service and the atmosphere is the best with Alki beach on the opposite side. Poppers were good. Chimichanga wet burrito (chicken tinga meat) was alright, Grilled cod tacos were bland, Crunchy Chicken verde tacos were okay-ish and Chicken verde+tinga Enchiladas was decent. Mexican Hot toddy and Nutty hot coco was refreshing.

This is a great spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating with a variety of drinks. I quite loved my spiked horchata drink. The food was good and very filling. The staff were nice and the energy was good. I hope you enjoy your experience.

This Mexican restaurant/bar with dive bar vibes and punk rock music playing reminds me so much of Austin, TX. It has a great location right across from Alki Beach and serves up delicious food and drinks at a reasonable price. The chips and salsa fresca are amazing and the salsas on the table (salsa roja, salsa verde, chipotle pineapple) are addicting. The chicken tinga tacos are flavorful, juicy, and delicious. The margaritas are on point! Happy hour is worth it and it's 4-6 pm and 10-11 pm every day.

Always a solid choice. After a morning of freezing but sunny beachcombing, we stopped in for a Saturday lunch. The wait wasn't long at all, and so many servers stopped by to make sure we had been taken care of. They bring out crayons with the kid's menu, so little ones can keep entertained. We had a great table right by the window so the view was excellent. Chup also has two patio heaters, so they're still seating outdoors if you're looking for good patios. The food is really varied and there are plenty of options for any dietary restricted individuals. They have a full bar and really interesting seasonal cocktails (Mexican hot toddy was so good). I've been many times and I'm sure I'll be back!

Not Posole. Shredded pork stew, yes.

The location is definitely the main draw--you're steps from the beach, with a few outdoor chairs and an enclosed patio area where you can sit and take in the activity around you. The brewery itself has a laid-back, slightly worn-in feel. It's a bit rundown in places, but that seems pretty fitting for the casual, beach-adjacent vibe and doesn't take away from the overall experience if you're expecting something polished or upscale. It can get quite noisy, especially given the corner location and steady foot traffic from tourists and beachgoers. The atmosphere is lively, sometimes bordering on chaotic, but that's part of the tradeoff for being in such a busy, scenic area. Overall, it's a solid stop if you're already in the Alki area and want a casual beer in a very "beach town" style setting--just go in expecting energy, crowds, and a no-frills environment

When we arrived, just after they opened, we were the third party in the restaurant. The atrium was really cute. It had a glass chandelier, great decor, and a view of Alki Beach. Our waiter brought us some water and we both decided to order the quiche (daily special was spinach, mushroom and goat cheese) along with a cup of clam chowder. Being that the restaurant was kind of empty, it took a while for our food to arrive. Unfortunately, the chowder was tepid at best and quiche was ice cold. I flagged the waiter down and as he took away our plates, he made a comment about the oven not being set correctly, which I thought was a bit odd. To me, it seemed as if our food may have been waiting a while to get picked up. Nevertheless, our food returned shortly thereafter piping hot. The chowder was delicious, definitely one of the tastiest I've had in Seattle. I found the quiche to be lacking in flavor and then noticed that there were no salt or pepper shakers on any of the tables, which I also thought was a bit odd. After we had finished eating, the waiter asked my friend if she wanted a box for her quiche. When he returned with the box, he did not clear our dishes or ask if we were ready for our check. I had to flag him down to ask for it. I noticed they added a $3 service fee to the bill, not quite sure what that was about, as the food was already a bit pricier than other restaurants in the area and there were issues with our food. I guess it's for the beach view? Overall, this was a decent meal, but I just don't get what all the hype is about.

The space gives off Korean pocha vibes, and the best part of the experience was definitely the location. Being right across from the water with a nice beach view made the atmosphere really enjoyable. Service started off well, but once it got busier, it became a lot less consistent. Unfortunately, the food didn't match the price point. The quality of the meat was disappointing, and both the kimchi stew and corn cheese were lacking flavor. Even the side dishes tasted like they had been sitting for a while and weren't very fresh. They also don't offer a lunch menu on weekends, so for what you're paying, the food quality just isn't worth it. Overall, the only standout for me was the view. After many attempts I finally get her to try a Pork Quesadilla. She really liked it and I think we may have won her over a little bit. However, when we first arrived the hostess sat us at our booth and handed us two menus and left. I opened my menu and the inside was covered in salsa. I had to get up and find somebody to exchange it. With that taken care of, I ordered the Super Burrito Manadero. I got it with Chile Colorado Beef. To me the beef was a little dry, and it seemed like it was the beef that they may use for the shredded beef, they just didn't shred it. It fell apart in my mouth and tasted good, but was a bit dry. And they were cut in huge meatball size chunks, down to smaller bite sized chunks. I still enjoyed it, but the two previous Mexican restaurants that I got this at, just hit it out of the park with one place using filet mignon steak chunks, and the other using waygu beef. It's hard to compete with that (and they were only $2-3 more). For dessert I bought the fried ice cream. I LOVE Fried Ice Cream! This was pretty good, nice portion size, and they use a raspberry sauce on top of it. I've never seen that before. They didn't use corn flakes (my favorite) but it was nice.
