Small salad $3
T P.

I placed an order through Uber eats as this restaurant offered the 50% promo with an order over $25. I ordered a side salad ($3.00), steak fajitas and guacamole dip. It was really easy to order and there's a lot of options to choose from. The side salad came with lettuce, chopped tomatoes, croutons and dressing. It's a great starter salad. The steak fajita also comes with tortillas (I ordered flour but got corn), sour cream, guacamole, rice and beans. I also asked for pico de gallo and mild sauce on the side. The steak was on the tough side, the guacamole dip with salad was weird and wrong tortillas - that's why I gave 3 stars. The guacamole dip was strange. It had shredded lettuce on the bottom, then a thick layer of guacamole (for $9).

Since we had a 7:00 performance to attend tonight, we decided to try El Charro Mexican Grill (opens at 5:00). It is located in the former Pho Saigon location. The decor is simple but was nice. We me our friends there, so we were a party of four. We had two flauta plates, four shrimp tacos and an Asada burrito, smothered in green chile and a side of refried beans. The burrito was abundantly filled with chopped steak and was delicious. The refried beans were also very tasty, almost lumpy in texture. Service was very good.

Shrimp torta! It's not on the menu but I asked if they could do it and ohhh yeah, they sure can!

Great food and service. The shrimp tacos are great but today I ordered something not on the menu and they came through! Oh so good!

The filling of a burrito at El Charro. The meat was chopped a little small and just ok on flavor. Not much green chile in there.

Return visit finds the dining experience at El Charro the same, i e., about Three and Three Quarter Stars...meaning a little above average. I paid a second visit to El Charro on a Saturday afternoon and found the restaurant fairly busy. Despite having just two young women working out front the service was efficient and very polite. The orders and food came timely. Today I sampled a green chile con carne burrito and their combo plate with an enchilada, a chile relleno, and red chile con carne. It of course came with Spanish rice and refried beans. Before the meal was served the waitress brought out their basket of tortilla chips with a little bowl of red salsa and one of their creamy cheese dip. The chips were ok...rate them a "B." Today the red salsa was quite watery and lacking flavor. Rate it a "C." The creamy cheese dip was mild and lacking in flavor. Not a fan! Rate it a ""B-." The combo plate itself was out and on the table within eight minutes or so. The refried beans were pretty good for refried beans. Rate them a "B+." The rice was ok...the usual. The enchilada was on the smallish side and fairly good with a fair amount of cheese inside. Rate it a "B." The chile relleno, however, despite a nice light batter was NOT a flavorful tasting chile. Not good. Rate the relleno a "C" at best. The red chile con carne was diced again in smallish pieces and thus not so succulent or juicy. The flavor was just ok. Rate the chile a "B-." I ordered the burrito to once again sample their green chile con carne. The beef wasn't bad but there was not much green chile in there. A few bits of potato were present. It was ok green chile but far from the best. Rate it a "B-." I would also add that much of the food today seemed to be OVER SALTED. In sum, El Charro has a nice ambiance, pleasant service, good prices, but at the end of the day, food that is just so-so to good. Nothing found here inspires. Nothing found here to be enthused about! Nothing bad but nothing top drawer. (PS...they do charge a little less if you pay in cash!)

Combination Plate, enchilada, tamale, taco, fresh refried beans, and rice.

We waited 10 minutes at the bar before we were finally asked what drinks we wanted. All for this lady to be nasty toward us the entire night. We wanted a refill on water, we had to ask. We wanted another cocktail, we had to ask. This is not how you work with customers. She should be removed. Finally, we are FETCH shoppers and asked for an itemized receipt and the bartender had a few feelings about it. The entire reason we went there was to get the FETCH points and she was not happy about that request. The manager also failed to get an actual itemized receipt it was missing key information for the FETCH app redeem. Not worth a visit.

Prices were about what you'd expect, nothing crazy. The desserts were just as solid--very tasty and a great way to wrap things up. He has beaten stage four cancer three separate times. Needless to say, his career military background and having just retired in October 2025 served him well. He has faced every diagnosis head-on like the true American soldier he is. During one of our quiet conversations, he shared something that clearly weighed on him. He was heartbroken that he never got the chance to take his wife out for their 55th wedding anniversary in December because he was in the hospital. The next day, I asked him a simple question. If you could pick one restaurant within a 100-mile radius, just one, where would you want to go once you had your strength back? Without hesitation, he said La Posta. Over the next few weeks, a lot changed. He was released from the hospital. He slowly began to regain his strength. First the cane went away, then short walks turned into longer ones, and eventually he was even driving himself from LC to EPT for doctor's appointments. When I finally asked if he felt strong enough to go to that meal we had talked about, he lit up. He started telling me stories. How his father used to bring him to La Posta. How it had remained top notch throughout the years. He went into detail about every menu item he loved. But the one thing he really wanted me to understand was the ambiance. You will get it when you are there, he told me. I called to see if they took reservations. We were not even sure they did. A young woman named Priscilla answered the phone. I explained the situation. My uncle was finally strong enough to return to his favorite restaurant, one that held a lifetime of memories, and he had missed celebrating his 55th wedding anniversary. I told her I wanted to surprise them and make the night unforgettable. I even mentioned I was planning to have flowers delivered. Priscilla did not hesitate. She immediately connected me with her manager, Teresa. I asked if we could have a larger table than one meant for three people because my uncle wanted to order everything. Honestly, I just wanted him to eat, to enjoy himself, to feel normal again. Teresa agreed without question. Then something unexpected happened. Teresa explained that Priscilla was a single mom of two who had recently started a floral business on the side and truly wanted to help make this night special. She asked if it would be okay to involve her. Of course, I said yes. I was transferred back to Priscilla and told her to go big. No expense spared. I gave her full creative freedom and an unlimited budget. Unbeknownst to me, Priscilla partnered with a friend who specialized in balloon arrangements. What she created was nothing short of breathtaking. Place cards. Multiple floral centerpieces. An ornate floral display. A large professional sign welcoming my aunt and uncle to the restaurant. She handled everything with grace, professionalism, and kindness, even as our party grew from three people to thirteen. And then the story took a turn. The day before the dinner, my uncle was rushed into emergency surgery. Suddenly, everything was uncertain. Half the family canceled to stay at the hospital. We kept Priscilla updated as events unfolded. Not once did she complain. Not once did she lose her composure. She adapted to every change with pure professionalism and empathy. She even adjusted the floral arrangements when we decided to bring flowers and food to the hospital instead. That is when I learned that the owners of La Posta had been informed of the situation. The male manager on duty, and I regret not remembering his name, passed along a message from them expressing their deepest condolences and gratitude. He also shared that they wished they could have been there to meet my uncle. There really are still good people in this world. After her shift ended at 4 p.m., Priscilla went to pick up her kids and then came back to the restaurant just to meet me. She walked me through everything she had created and explained the work behind it. When I asked how much I owed her, she paused and said she wanted to bless my family and could not accept payment. I was overwhelmed. Her work would have easily cost four to five hundred dollars. I insisted on tipping her at the very least, and she reluctantly agreed. The food that night was incredible. We had a wonderful server, and the food was amazing. We ordered extra meals to go so my cousins could bring my uncle his favorite dishes back to the hospital. It was a small way to lift his spirits during one of the darkest moments our family has faced. My uncle asked me to thank you for the food. And I want to thank everyone at La Posta for the hospitality, the compassion, and the humanity. When my uncle regains his strength and comes home again, we will return with his wife so he can finally give her the 55th wedding anniversary dinner they both deserve.
